C10 Character design.

Alex's point of view

Daniel was in a panic.

"I can't believe that my own brother- in -law is aiming for my downfall after I have done everything in my power to make him comfortable in my home." He shook his head in disbelief.

CEO Daniel's voice was laced with pain when anger and a deep frown formed on his foreheads as he shook his head.

"Harry , I will certainly get back at you for doing this to me!" He spat and I smirked.

Yes, this was great.

The more anger and hate he holds in his heart for my ex in law's, the smoother my plans would be.

"Mr Daniel ,can you just ask someone to show me where I would stay? I am tired." I said, snapping him out of his thoughts.

He looked at me in momentarily disbelief that I was asking him something like this, when his life was practically falling apart and I just shrugged.

I can't do anything about his family matters, what good would it do me to pity him, when I was already in a pitiful situation.

I need to rest and calm down my aching head, before I can think of what to do next.

Everything needs to be planned very carefully to get a perfect result.

I knew that even though I told him about his brother in law's betrayal, he will trust me for a while.

But I still needed to prove I would be useful in the long run or I will be quickly disposed of when I have no use.

Ceo Daniel took a deep breath and exhaled sharply ,as he was trying to calm himself down.

"Yes, I will call someone to do that, but I want to ask you what job you can do?" He inquired from me when he calmed down a bit, to think level headedly.

"I am a private investigator." I replied and he nodded in understanding.

I wasn't trained to be a private investigator, it was just something I learnt.

I know how to track people and follow them around, however I couldn't even tell my own wife was cheating and wanted to get divorced.

Isn't that ridiculous?

I shook my head.

Why is it that the things we are good at ,when it gets to it's time to help us, will always fail?

It's a really pitiful situation.

"Okay , that's fine, tomorrow I will tell you want to do, I will call someone to take you to my company apartment building, you can stay there, most of my employees that have worked for me for long stay there, but I will give you a room, since I think you have more valuable use to me." He told me and stepped out for a moment before coming back with his bodyguard.

"He will show you where you will stay, it's close to the office about a fifteen minutes drive from here." He informed me and I smiled.

I never liked traffic, so that is great.

I wrote down my phone number and gave it to him, so he can call me when his phone is in order.

I followed the bodyguard and left the company building, we got into one of Ceo Daniel's cars and drove out to the apartment building.

The car ride was silent as the bodyguard who was driving was mainly looking straight to the road, while listening to country music playing on the radio.

The car stopped and we both got out and took the elevator, I was mindful to check which floor we stopped at and nodded.

The bodyguard was walking in front of me as he stopped at the third door after we got out of the elevator and took out his keys and opened the door and walked in.

He waited for me to get in before locking the door.

"This will be your apartment." He told me and I smiled as I looked at the room.

"It's nice." I smiled.

"It has no guest room ,just a room, a living room, restroom and a kitchen. It's a furnished apartment, so be careful when using it, or you will pay if you damage anything in it." He warned me and I nodded in understanding.

"Thank you, I understand." I replied and he gave me the keys.

"Well ,I will see you later, make yourself comfortable." He told me as he left and I locked the door and smiled.

I can't remember the last time I lived alone, I also didn't have to deal with an annoying mother.

"Freedom at last." I chuckled as I tossed my backpack to the floor and jumped onto the couch.

Wow, such a soft texture,I will get used to this.

I remembered what I needed to do and I snapped out of it.

I went out of my apartment for a while to get some of my tools and groceries because there was nothing in the fridge. When I returned back home, I scanned the apartment for bugs. It took me about two hours to complete, but it was necessary.

CEO Daniel might not still trust me ,but I love my privacy.

Much to my disbelief, I didn't find a single bug or hidden camera, maybe it's in places I can't think of.

I just shrugged and decided to believe that there were no bugs.

I pity CEO Daniel ,because I am sure he went home and confronted his brother-in -law who he took as a brother. I wonder why people do that.

If you hurt even your family, you are a monster.

After preparing breakfast and eating at the dinner table.

I decided it was time to get to work.

I went to my room where I saw a reading table, I put my backpack in my closet, I took out my laptop and decided to begin my research.

I searched about CEO Daniel's two secretaries, one was married with kids and the other was single.

"Who would need money more amongst these two?" I pondered outloud.

I didn't want to conclude it was the married one because her husband might be well off.

I just have to find out then.

I began my research on their family's.

I was working when my phone rang.

I answered.

"Alex, this is Daniel, I want you to start working tonight." He told me and I smiled.

As if I read his mind.

"I am already working." I informed him.

"That's good, please do a good job, I don't think I can go to sleep peacefully, knowing there are people wishing for my downfall ,even people in my own home." He gritted out.

"What did you do to your brother in law?" I asked him.

I was sure that after what happened there was no way he would allow his brother in law to stay with him.

"I kicked him out and my wife is saying I am too harsh." He replied.

"It's her brother." I reminded him.

"I know, but....well let's leave it, just continue on your work." He told me.

The secretary was married and had her own house with her husband who was a stay at home Dad, do she had a sketchy character.

None of her family is rich ,so how did she purchase that house?

I asked Ceo Daniel about how long she has worked for him and her salary,he told me, after calculating it , it didn't add up.

I will look more into it.

"Yes sir I will get to work ,so don't need to worry about it, but instead of following your secretaries and bodyguards, I have another idea." I informed him.

I needed to prove that I was useful, so that I could get the rest of my money.

"What is this idea you have?" He asked.

"We need to set a bait for the spy." I informed ,even though I wouldn't mind privately investigating what I wanted, I still wanted this to go the easy way.

I mean I never liked stress,I was just doing all these odd jobs to please my ex wife and my ex in law's.

"What idea do you have?" He asked curiously.

I informed CEO Daniel that the best way to catch a thief is leaving something mouthwatering for him to find in plain sight.

"Do you have any important documents you just received recently?" I asked him and he paused for a while before replying.

I think he was contemplating if he should lie or tell the truth.

"Yes I have, but I can't use that as bait, it is my company's livelihood." He replied.

I had to roll my eyes, because I don't know how stupid he thinks I am.

"I would never tell you to put that as bait , make a wrong copy of it and keep it in a place where the spy steals it and gives it to my ex in-laws." I told him.

"That's a very good idea , I will set up the camera office to catch the person." He replied.

"Yes ,but I don't think you should catch the person immediately ,let him or her take the wrong document to my ex in-laws , then you can catch the person when he returns from his failed mission." I suggested.

"Wow, that is a really good suggestion." He laughed in amusement.

"I understand what you mean, it will be done." He said happily.

"It might take some time, but please give me the good news ,when you catch the person, I am working on something to begin the next stage." I told him.

Even though I want to be there to witness it I want to see how it turns out first hand.

"Of course I will." He replied happily and hung up the call to go and start the preparation of what will happen tomorrow.

He should be careful not to leak information to who might actually be this spy, but I know he's a smart man, so he won't be that stupid to do that.

I took a big bite from my hamburger resting on my desk, as I continued typing on the laptop.

I was writing the descriptions of a character ,so the people who will draw it will have an easier time drawing it if the character is detailed.

Blue eyes and blond hair, arched eyebrows, that's the features of one of the main characters in the dating sim game my ex wife and her father's company are working on.

Yes I have a good memory and I would screw her over by handing this information to Ceo Daniel.

Afterall she has no evidence that I am selling their information to a rival company. She won't even think that I remember it. I told her about some character designs when she asked for my suggestion.

The rest of it, I saw her working on it on her computer, while in our room.

One quick look at it, I know half of it.

I smirked.

She will regret wasting my time.

I would really love to see the look on her face, when Daniel's corporation launches the dating sim she was working on.
