C10 Danger

Caroline, jumps over the high fence into Lord Elenor's Compound. She has been compelled. A compellation wish, which must be done. She looks left and right and finds herself vulnerable to King Elenor's guards. She hides behind a tree not knowing what to do or where to go next. She sees two guards coming closer to the tree, and she tries to escape.

"Who are you, woman?" one of the guards asked.

Caroline, looking frightened and in fear, begins to shake.

The second guard, about to bring out his sword in threat, says, "Don't let me repeat myself, girl. What are you doing here?"

"Uhhhh! I'm a servant," Caroline says.

"Hmmm! How come I don't know you?" the commander asks.

"Because... I'm new, my lord," Caroline replies, trembling.

"You are new? Have they just recruited new maids?" the guard asks.

"Yes, Commander. Lord Asherbrook just brought his men and servants today," the other guard answers.

"Lord Asherbrook from House Ravensong?" the commander asks.

"Yes."

"When did he bring them in?"

"Today, Lord Commander, while you were busy patrolling the city," the subordinate guard says.

"I happen to have lost my way. If you will, my lord, show me the servant's quarters," Caroline says.

The guards keep looking at Caroline keenly before the commander says, "Go straight and turn right."

"Thank you, my lord," Caroline says and dashes off in that direction.

The subordinate guard keeps looking at her way before finally saying, "My lord, I don't really think she's a servant."

"Why do you say that?"

"She was hesitant to talk when we asked, and she looked like she was in hiding when we saw her."

"No, she's just..."

"No, my lord. If it pleases you, will you let me spy on her? My intuitions are never wrong."

"At your own risk," the guards commander said.

"Thank you, my lord," the guard says before dashing off in Caroline's direction.

Caroline, upon walking away from the guards' sight, changes her movement to the left, where her intuition tells her that might be where King Elenor is hiding his men.

She sees a maid holding cover clothes and going into the building.

"Hey," she says as she moves her head to her front while the girl looks back.

As the girl looks back, Caroline kicks her in the stomach several times before leaving her there weak and helpless.

She drags her to the back of the building, quickly undresses her, and puts on the maiden's uniform, carrying what the servant was carrying, pretending to be a servant.

The guard, upon going in the direction where she ought to be, realizes she's not there. He knew it was impossible for her to have gotten to the far-distance maids' quarters already. He knew it. This girl is not a maid.

"Where could she have gone to?" he thought.

He rings the emergency bell given to all guards.

"There is a spy woman among us," he keeps shouting.

The majority of the guards have already assembled.

"A spy is among us pretending to be a maid, she's tall with white hair. She looks like a teen. A nineteen-year-old. We need to find her; we have to look for her."

"Okay, double up. You this way," he says as he points in different directions.

"You, this way," the lord commander says.

After dressing like a servant, Caroline dashes into the building with the tray of clothes the servant was carrying.

"Hey, tall lady, need one here," the guards kept saying while she answers.

"Yes, my lord," with her head bowed.

Upon realizing they are trained soldiers, she wants to know the rough estimate before taking her leave. What if there are still some inside the inner door?

"Hey, beautiful lady, are you as available as your cover cloth?" a guard says.

"That depends," Caroline says slyly

"On what?" They sound engrossed.

"On your selflessness," Caroline says.

"How selfless are you, my lord?" she said as she sits on a guard's lap.

"Hmmmm! I'm not so selfless. I always want things for myself alone," the guard said.

"Too bad," she stands, "I was about to perform a show of dancing."

"Really? A servant can dance? How good can you be?" another asks.

"Enough to make you want to watch again," she said.

"Go on then," they said.

"No, under a condition. Bring in all your men. I might not be able to perform enough again by the time I finish performing."

"You dare make a bargain?"

"I'm too good not to, my lord." Caroline says

"Let's call the rest. Nothing to lose, right." The other soilders said

They begin to bang on every door until everyone was there before she started.

"Shall we begin?" she said.

The men got a piano and other instruments along with it, and the instrumentalists among them began. Yes! She did it; she killed it, and who could have thought? No one!!!

As Caroline danced, she starts to gaze at the total number of men in the room with her.

While dancing, she begins to walk to the door. Immediately she finishes, she bows and opens the door to leave. There she sees the guard she saw by the tree earlier standing by the door with a few other guards with him.

"My lord?" Caroline said, astonished.

"You fool."

She picks to her heels and began to run away. The men start to chase her, shouting "Catch her."

She immediately hides behind a small hut while the guards lose sight of her.

She sneaks to the wall where she flew in, knowing fully Ethan will be there.

As she climbs up to jump over, the men caught sight of her. As the guard draws an arrow and fires at her. She got hit in the leg, but she jumps to the other side. She looks left, right, but no traces of Ethan.

"Ethan, Ethan," she shouted.

She starts to limp home. The men suddenly surround her. The guard looks at her and smiles evilly before bringing out his sword to smite her.

As he draws his sword, Caroline has already sat down, closed her eyes and resigned to fate. Ethan suddenly appears and finishes all of them within five seconds, smashing their necks, biting them, removing their hearts.

Caroline begins to cry.

"Caroline, shall we go home now?" he says as he carries her.
