C11 I promise you

It's been three days since everywhere has been extremely quiet.

"What could be happening out there?" Charlotte wondered.

"Hey Ashley, I understand you're super tired and hungry, but you gotta hang in there a bit longer. I need to go check what's going on outside, okay?"

"Okay."

"If you're hungry, don't forget to take some chocolate for yourself."

"I will."

She pulls the door between the underground and their living place, looks keenly at the surroundings before stepping out. She realizes how messy their house is and also notices that no one is around.

She goes ahead to the compound and starts to survey. She realizes all the trees have been cut, the stones all packed in a direction as if they were looking for something on the stones. She instantly knew Lord Valek and Johnson were searching for treasures.

"Have they found it?" She thought.

As she walks a little further, she sees a paper blown and stopped by the trees. She picks it up to see a map.

"This is this place's map," she thought.

Suddenly she notices something spectacular about the map. A new location specially marked designed with red. She goes straight to where it's located to see an already opened door; she steps in. Lo and behold, what is she looking at?

Jackson's head lying there flat.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!" she screams, feeling so terrified.

She ran out. "No, it can't be. It must not be," in horror.

She slowly walks back in, her brother's head at the entrance and his body in the middle away from his head.

"Ahhh!! No, Jack. Wake up, it can't be. No Jack, wake up. Please!!!"

she begins to cry in horror while holding his head. She kept crying for hours not knowing what next to do.

She decides to tell Ashley. She has the right to know too. But how will she tell Ashley? Will she show him this horrific body of their brother? Or show her his graveyard after she finishes burying him.

"Charlotte." She hears at her back. It's Ashley. Charlotte, not knowing what to do next, tries to hide their brother's body, looking terrified.

"Hey Ashley, please don't come anywhere further." Ashley asks.

Ashley, not minding that question asked; "Who is that? Is that a dead person?"

As she steps further, she realizes it's her brother.

"Is that Jack? Ahhhh!! Brother," she begins to tremble.

Charlotte immediately holds her, "Ashley, please, take it easy."

"Charlotte, he's gone." Ashley begins to cry, and Charlotte starts to cry alongside her too. They both surround Jackson's body dejected.

"I will kill them all," Charlotte kept saying.

*******

"I think it's time to let him go, Ashley. Ashley, we have to bury him now."

"No, Charlotte, I don't wanna leave him be."

"You have to, let him rest. Ashley look at me, he's gone to a better world now. I think we should let him go.

"Okay, Charlotte, but how are we going to bury him?" Ashley said sobbing.

"Believe me, Ashley, I don't know," Ashley said.

"But come on, I have an idea, start up Ash, come on." Ashley stands up.

Charlotte takes Ashley back to the treasure, holds a gold, and leaves the surroundings, hoping to sell it for a good amount of money.

They both go to the market, see a welcoming and approachable seller.

"Hello sir, I see you buy golds, we've come across this exquisite gold. Would you be interested in purchasing it?" Charlotte inquired.

"Ah!, a beautiful piece indeed! Where did you children come across such a treasure? And what price are you looking to sell it for?"

"We stumbled upon it in an ancient cave while on a quest. As for the price, we were hoping for a fair offer. What do you think would be a reasonable value for such a unique piece?"Charlotte says

"I'd be willing to offer you 500 coins for it. A fair price for both parties, what do you think?"

"Yes, fair enough." Charlotte says.

The seller hands over the money. Charlotte thanks him before turning back to ask,

"Do you by chance know about people that take care of funerals?"

"Yes. The house at the back."

Charlotte and Ashley both went to the house to see an old man.

"Hello sir, we got recommended here that you take care of funerals." Charlotte says.

"Yes. Who died?" The old man asked.

"My brother." Charlotte says.

"And do you have money, we do not run free services, child." The man said.

"Yes, how much do you want?" Charlotte asks.

"Ten shillings." The man says, snapping his fingers.

Charlotte counts the coins.

"Here you go sir."

"Alright, let me call a few of my boys to dig and bring a coffin along."

The boys had followed them home with a coffin, begin to dig, washes, and placed Jackson into it and start to close it up.

Before covering his coffin, Charlotte places her necklace into Jackson's grave sobbing;

"I promise you Lord Valek will pay brother. In multiple folds, I shall torment and torture him, he will beg for death but I will show him none. I shall kill every single member of his family, and he shall see Hell on earth. You died looking for the treasures to take back your kingdom. I promise you, I will continue from where you stopped. I will take back the throne from Eleanor, and I will rule. These promises I must fulfill." Charlotte said.

They cover his coffin, place him into the ground, and bury him.

Charlotte and Ashley pick a few golds with a few of their belongings and leave the place to live in a new town.
