C12 Young Master

Yu Se slowly reached her hands out to unbutton his collar, revealing the beautiful jade necklace that was wrapped around his neck. Her eyes immediately flashed with an emotion that she couldn't quite comprehend as her fingers slid across the cold surface. Although the stone was as cool as his skin, there was a certain warmness hidden under its corners–one that she couldn't place her finger on.

The events that had transpired back at the tomb still felt like a dream to her. The very moment the jade had landed on her birthmark, it was as if a new bridge had been opened in the inner depths of her mind–as if the secret of the world had been revealed to her. So many techniques flew through her brain in full force, that it was a wonder how she could actually catch up. She remembered how panicked she had been, how anxious she was to return to that cold feeling once more.

And now that the jade was in her hands again, she could finally feel at ease.

Holding the precious stone, Yu Se closed her eyes and began to perform the Nine Meridians Eight Veins Method. It was a good thing she had practiced the other night. This time, she wasn't just trying to repair the damage inflicted on her internal organs, but on his as well. After all, he had been dead for quite some time. Even that would take a toll on his recovery.

"It's really easy to get sick, but to recover from that is a different story," her aunt once told her. She had never really gotten its meaning till now.

"Third Miss Yu, the old lady has invited you over for dinner," Nanny Zhang called out.

"Hm?" She blinked, looking over at the windows. She didn't notice that so much time had passed since she had touched the jade. Glancing at the blushed color of his cheeks, her shoulders relaxed. She certainly didn't expect that she'd be able to achieve twice the results in half the time with that precious stone within her very fingertips. Her eyes narrowed in apprehension. "Interesting."

In an hour and a half, their healing progress was impeccable.

"Mo Jingyao, I'll be eating first. You better wake up fast, okay? Because the moment you do, you'll be nothing more than my maid–you got that?" Yu Se tilted his chin upwards and gazed at his face, like how the men held their women in the movies. "Hm, you certainly don't look as bad as you did when I had entered the room. Turns out, I'm actually making some progress as it is."

Oh, how the strong had fallen. The aloof CEO who was once intimidating and scary with just his stare alone had been degraded to a stripper-like state, allowing a woman such as her to pinch and touch him as she pleased. If he had been awake at that time, he would've started to roll across his bedsheets, far away from her. At the thought, the smile on her lips had widened.

In the past, it was so hard for a woman to get close to him. Who would've expected that he'd be taken advantage of like this while he was unconscious?

Tucking the jade back in his shirt, she slowly leaned back. Just as she was about to stand up and walk away, the bedroom door had slammed open, and Luo Wanyi and Mo Jingxi came rushing in. Their eyes were narrowed perceptibly, and their arms were crossed against their chest. They both looked as if they had just entered the scene of the crime.

"Mom," Jingxi continued to protest. "Look at her! She's practically younger than me! How do you think she's going to wake him up? Did you and Grandma sustain any damage in the brain or something?"

Luo Wanyi paid no heed to her daughter. Instead, she immediately rushed to Mo Jingyao's bedside and held his cheeks. His face had a bit more color now that Yu Se had arrived. Whatever the woman was doing, it was certainly working in his favor. "Yu Se," she started, looking up at her. "From now on, Jingyao will be taken under your wing. Take good care of him, okay?"

"Director Luo, I'm not some servant that the Mo family could order around. I'm not even a staff member at Mo's Group," she stated as a matter-of-fact. "Although I've agreed to take good care of him, he's certainly not my obligation–at least, not anymore. That role has been passed onto my sister."

"You–"

"Do my eyes deceive me?" Xu Qingzhen, the eldest wife, had slowly walked into the bedroom. Her head was held high, and her long fingernails tapped onto her sleeves. "Wanyi, she's not a girl over twenty! She hasn't even been to medical school! What could she possibly have to offer?"

"Please, as if I'd trust a word you say! I bet you'd rather he never wakes up at all, don't you?" Her accusing eyes turned to Xu Qingzhen. "That way, your son would have no competition in taking over Mo's Group, am I right?"

She didn't expect that Luo Wanyi would be so blunt. "I've never said such a thing!"

"You don't need to. It's written all over your face!" Luo Wanyi scowled. She had never really cared for the future of Mo's Group. They could have it for all she cared. There were plenty of opportunities waiting for her, but she only had one son. As long as Mo Jingyao could get well, she was willing to do anything! The only thing she could've ever wanted was for him to be safe.

"Enough!" The old lady slammed her walking stick against the carpet. "Haven't I told you already? It's not good for him to have so many people crowding around his bed, and you even have the nerve to argue! Get out!"

Then, the old lady brought her eyes to Yu Se. "I've already said what I needed to say. The two have always been a match made in heaven," she said, motioning her walking stick to the man lying on the bed. "Look! He looks like he's getting better, isn't he? All because of her."

Sure enough, Mo Jingyao's complexion had improved a lot.

As if she had already made up her mind, Luo Wanyi turned to one of her servants. "Nanny Zhang, go to the washroom and take out all of Jingyao's supplies. Change them, and bring two pairs instead of one. Yu Se will be living with him from now on." She couldn't really care less if the woman would agree or not. As long as it would help her son wake up, she'd do anything in her power to make it happen.

"But, Auntie, what about me?" Yu Mo squeezed her way into the crowd, looking panicked. She had wanted to see if Mo Jingyao's state had truly improved from the last time she had seen him, but there were so many people surrounding him, that it was hard for her to squeeze in.
