C13 Name Your Price

"Maybe you're thinking too much into this," Yang Jialan intercepted, speaking up for the young woman. She crossed her arms over her chest. "Yu Mo has been taking care of Jingyao for the past few days. I'm sure you, of all people, have seen how dedicated she was to your son. And now, you're just going to kick her out like some piece of furniture? Be a little more reasonable."

She couldn't help but notice the tinge of color coating the man's cheeks. It was obvious that his condition was improving, and whatever antics Yu Se had been up to in the bedroom was working. And there was no way she was going to passively stand by and watch that man get better, especially after the opportunity had been dangled right in front of her.

This was why she had no other choice but to back Yu Mo up. After all, when she had accompanied Mo Jingyao all those nights, Yang Jialan could see how worse the man had gotten, how paler he was and how gaunt he looked.

There was a clear contrast between before and after, and she wasn't going to risk it!

Mo Jingyao had to die! That was the only way her son could have a chance to apply for the position as the CEO of Mo's Group!

"As much as I appreciate your concern, Mo Jingyao is my son, not yours." Luo Wanyi diverted her attention to her sister-in-law. Her eyes were cool and calculating, and anyone could see where Mo Jingyao had gotten his composure. Folding her hands together, she gazed at her. "Since you have so much free time in your hands, perhaps you'd want to worry over your own son, who hasn't come home in a week. It will be a shame if something were to happen to him."

"Jingxun still hasn't come home?" When the old lady had heard of her grandson not coming back, she slammed her walking stick against the tiles. "Go and see what's going on!"

Yang Jialan originally wanted to put her foot down in insisting Yu Mo's position in the family, but after hearing the anxiety that had writhed the old lady's tone, she immediately rushed out of the room to make a phone call. After all, there may be even less of a chance for her son to better his position in the company if he wasn't successful in garnering their support.

When the others witnessed how Luo Wanyi had responded to her sister-in-law, they didn't bother to speak up for the young lady anymore. In addition to the fact that Yu Mo wasn't someone they truly cared about, they also didn't want to get on Luo Wanyi's bad side. Instead, they simply nodded in agreement as if this was the best idea that they've ever heard.

"But..." Yu Mo had wanted to fight for her position as Mo Jingyao's wife, but she knew the consequences if she did so. Instead, she immediately lowered her head like a submissive foal and closed her mouth.

If there was anything she had learned that day, it was that her mother-in-law was a very strong woman. She certainly didn't want to anger her, especially not over her son's heath. If Yu Se could bring him back to life, then so be it! Perhaps, it would finally bring an end to all of this endless torture. 'And I could rid myself from seeing my mother-in-law every single day of my life,' she thought.

It would only be a few weeks. When Mo Jingyao would wake up, he'd surely treat her better–like the princess she was meant to be.

It wasn't as if she was marrying the mother-in-law. There was absolutely no need for her to be afraid of the old woman.

Seeing that everyone had turned silent, Luo Wanyi grabbed the opportunity to look at Yu Se. "Look, we already know that you're in no obligation to take care of my son. After all, the ghost wedding has come to an end," she slowly said. "So I'll be treating you as an employee rather than a future relative. Tell me, how much do you want?"

Originally, when Mo Jingyao was reported to have come back to life, Luo Wanyi was grateful to Yu Se. In fact, she had even sent some of her people to the Yu Family to propose a marriage between her son and his savior. What she didn't expect was for Yu Jing'an to send Yu Mo into the family estate rather than Yu Se. "I was expecting that you'd send your youngest," she had stated back then as she greeted the two into the household.

"Ah, if you're talking about Yu Se, Madame, we were told that she doesn't want to be associated with Mo Jingyao," he quickly responded, pushing his daughter closer to the older woman. "Of course, we'd hope you'll accept her in her stead."

As Yu Mo was a member of the Yu Family, she had no objections.

Besides, the moment she was assigned to their estate, Yu Mo had taken the initiative in feeding Mo Jingyao all the pills that were needed for the day. In fact, whenever Luo Wanyi would pass by the master suite, she'd notice how the young woman doted on her son, making sure that he wouldn't miss a meal. "Perhaps this would be good for him," she had murmured to herself.

If Yu Se could save him, then perhaps Yu Mo could do the exact same thing.

Oh, how wrong she was! She didn't expect her son's condition to worsen even further. His lips weren't that pale when he had left the hospital, and he certainly didn't look that gaunt until the woman had started to tend to his every need. In fact, no matter how many physicians she had called all over the world, none of them could figure out why such a woman would have this negative effect on one man. It was obvious that she had to think of something else.

She remembered visiting one of the masters back at the temple, to measure the luck between Yu Mo and Mo Jingyao, only to receive such a negative result. "The girl you've asked for me to look into a few days ago–what's her name? Yu Se!" The old master had clicked his fingers in recognition. "She's the one who fits your son best! Any other woman you brought forth could only clash with his aura. If you want him to really get better, then get her!"

At first, Luo Wanyi was a little bit suspicious. How could such an old man know the inner workings of one's soul? As long as her son was being fed and cared for, wouldn't that be enough for his condition to improve? However, upon seeing how much his complexion had improved within the last two hours, it seemed as if she was proven wrong.

Perhaps Yu Se was the only option she had to bring her son back to life.

The older woman sighed in disbelief.

She already raised him back from the dead. The least she could do was to get him to wake up.

As long as Yu Se could give her this assurance, Luo Wanyi would accept any condition that the young woman would list out, as long as they were within a reasonable range, of course. "Well?" She tilted her head a bit higher, motioning for her to hurry up. "Name your price."

"I want a regular monthly wage. Nanny Zhang, do you mind telling me how much they pay you per month?" Yu Se turned to one of the maids.
