C16 Just Right

Yu Se had banged the door so hard that her knuckles were starting to bruise. As her eyes turned bloodshot from the tears just waiting to spill, she couldn't help but glance at Mo Jingyao's silent figure. Resentment brewed in the depths of her heart, and her face scrunched up in annoyance. She really had no other choice but to sleep with him. Although he wasn't in his burial suit, she still felt the anxiety rippling across her skin. "Not this again!"

If it hadn't been for him, she wouldn't be trapped here!

'Maybe if I use the Nine Yin Sutra,' she initially thought, before tossing it into the back of her mind. Although practicing that technique may get her out of there, her internal organs would wear out again, and at this point, she may not be able to survive a second hit. To use it while she still hadn't recovered from the first time, that might prove to be risky. She gritted her teeth.

If that were to happen, then they were back to square one.

The more she thought about it, the more irritated she had gotten. Not being able to help herself, Yu Se reached out and pinched the back of Mo Jingyao's hand, staring at his indifferent features. "It's your fault I'm stuck here," she accused, pinching him harder and harder, yet he still didn't react. "Do you know how much trouble you've gotten me into, Mister? I swear you're going to get it when you wake up!"

His silence was the only response she had.

At the sight of his closed eyes and straight mouth, she felt a little bit guilty. After all, the man was in a coma. It wasn't as if he had any control over what was happening, so it would be fruitless if she continued to blame him. "You're lucky you're still asleep," she murmured. The anger in her chest had waned just a bit, but even then, she still couldn't mask her annoyance with the entire situation.

As she waved her hands around exasperatedly, she didn't notice the man frowning right at her.

Giving up, she straightened her back and walked into the bathroom. The dim lights greeted her entrance as a breeze of warm air coated her high cheekbones. As her arms slowly fell to her sides, she took this time to glance at her surroundings.

It wasn't as if she had any other choice but to accept her faith.

Compared to her school's dormitory, the facilities in Mo Jingyao's bathroom were like gifts from heaven. With marble countertops and engraved furnishings, she could tell that the architect and interior designer who had worked in this area had given every detail much thought. From the automatic lights to the sensory generated water, it was like she had just stepped into another world. Was this what it's like to be rich?

It was even far more luxurious than what she had back in the Yu Family villa.

If she was stuck here, she might as well enjoy the privileges that came with it.

After taking a shower, Yu Se put on some clean silky pajamas and climbed up the bed. The covers were actually much warmer than she had initially expected, and as she snuggled in right beside him, a sense of familiarity dawned upon her. There was something about his presence that brought comfort to her. Her shoulders sagged in relaxation, and she found her hard exterior softening as the soft mattress enveloped her lean body.

It wasn't like he could see her right now, so she didn't have to be so anxious about being seen.

As she closed her eyes, the smell of shaving cream and orchids entered her nostrils. It was a pleasant scent, one that she didn't quite expect for a man who had spent days being sprayed with disinfectant. 'They really did a good job of cleaning him up,' she noted to herself as she looked up at him. It was strange to lie beside him once again, and as her eyes gazed at his strong jawline and long eyelashes, she was immediately brought back to the night back at the coffin.

Her body froze. It was as if the night had shrouded around her once more, and she could feel the clanging of the shovels as they dug a pile of dirt over their bodies. A sense of helplessness coursed through her veins, and she exhaled sharply, feeling as if she had just been slammed by a frying pan. Yu Se subconsciously moved her body to the side, leaning in a bit more closely into his arms.

His body wasn't as stiff as that night, and there was a bit of warmth that coated her cold arms as she snuggled under his hold.

Yet, no matter how hard she tried to rinse herself from the nightmares, she could still feel the coffin wood scratching against the fabric of her clothes. The silence made their experience all the more unnerving for her, and she couldn't help but squeeze her eyes shut. "I'm fine, I'm okay," she murmured to herself as tears streamed down her cheeks, staining Mo Jingyao's pajamas.

That night, Yu Se had cried herself to sleep.

She had slept soundly that night, despite imagining the sounds of clanging metal and the feeling of clinging dirt. Yu Se couldn't really tell if it was because of the comfort of having another man lying right beside her, or if it was because of the exhausting day she just had. Either way, she breathed evenly throughout the entire night, falling into another dreamscape.

In the past few days, her dreams usually contorted into heart-stopping nightmares–one that could render even an old lady into tears. However, there was something about this dream, that seemed different.

In her mind, Mo Jingyao had already woken up. His handsome face gleamed under the little light they had in the Master's Bedroom, and he used the time to wipe the tears slithering down from the corner of her eyes. "You're safe now," he had comforted her, drawing her into a short hug. The same angular features that could intimidate any man who would go against him, had softened at the mere sight of her.

However, Yu Se wasn't listening. Instead, her eyes were trained at his thin, full lips. Blush coated her cheeks, and she quickly drew away.

However, just as she was about to move to the side, he grabbed her hand and pulled her back.

"You better not play with me," she warned, swatting his hand away.

It was only then when he had let go of his grip and turned to the other way, stopping his funny antics.

Once silence had intervened, darkness enveloped around her once more.

There was something about that dream that seemed all too real.

And as Yu Se opened her eyes once again, she couldn't help but glance at the figure right next to her. Seeing that he was still fast asleep, she breathed a sigh of relief. 'He's still in a coma, Se,' she chided herself. 'It's not like he could move around. It's just a dream–no matter how realistic it was–it's truly just another dream.' Instead of thinking about it more, she shook her head and chose this time to observe her surroundings.

She had never really taken the time to appreciate the elegance of his entire room. From the simple engravings across the ceiling to the small chandelier hanging at the center, his room was simple yet masculine. She didn't need a degree to know that whoever was staying here was respected and dignified–everything that Mo Jingyao was, especially to the entire population in T City.

Mo Jingyao's face had certainly become more flushed after a night of resting. From the looks of it, he could wake up at any time.

However, no matter how long she had stared at him, he still didn't open his eyes. "Oh well, perhaps a few more days of using the technique," she said.

"Now, to more important things." Yu Se frowned as she stared at the worn clothes she had hanging by the sofa. These were the same clothes she had worn back at the library when she was taken away. To wear them again going to school might lead to rumors, especially since she didn't go back the night before. Besides, the clothes she had worn were already dirty. "I would need some new clothes, but..."

It was only then when she spotted a rose-colored suit placed right at the end of her bed.

Hm... Her eyebrows furrowed over. She had fallen asleep so quickly last night that she forgot to pay any attention if Nanny Zhang had placed any clothes by her bed or not. "Could I have missed it?"

But it was red! It would be hard for her not to have seen it.

'Forget it, I'll just wash up first.' Yu Se decided to head to the bathroom and finish up her morning routine. There really was no point in figuring out what went on in this household. Besides, she probably must've missed it after the exhausting day she had in recovering from the Nine Yin Sutra technique. As she headed back out into the bedroom, she could see that Mo Jingyao was still fast asleep.

"I don't know if you're hungry, but I certainly am," she mused.

She hesitated for a moment, but then she remembered Luo Wanyi's instructions–that everything in this room should only belong to her and Mo Jingyao. Any item that didn't could be transferred into another room or thrown away into the trash can. "This should be mine then," she muttered. Her fingers glided down the fabric. She could tell that it was custom-made from the embroidery at the top.

Not thinking too much into it, she took off her pajamas and grabbed the suit.

It was only when she had unbuttoned the suit did she notice that there were two items on the inside. "They really do think of everything!"

Yu Se simply changed in the bedroom, but as she was doing so, she couldn't help but feel as if someone was staring at her back. Perhaps it was the anxiety eating her bones that made her turn around, only to see Mo Jingyao's expressionless face. She shook off the uncomfortable feeling and quickly changed into her new set of clothes, throwing the rest into the bag.

As she buttoned up her shirt, she glanced at the floor length mirror. The clothes fitted her just right.
