C5 Wealthy Young Master

"I'm the one who had the nerve to see you." Yu Se had already changed out of her red wedding dress and into a nurse's uniform. She was leaning against the hospital bed right beside her, and her bruised and blood-stained face was now wiped clean from any debris. 'It's a good thing that you've called the hospital immediately,' the nurse had lectured while he was treating her. 'Otherwise, you would've had an infection.'

"Yu Mo? Yu Yin? Is that you?" Luo Wanyi blinked in surprise, staring at the woman as if she had just risen from the dead–which she might've been. No, she was probably just related to the girl she had just buried. Otherwise, how could such a stranger look just like her? Clutching her wallet, she peered at her. "Why are you going to sue me? Have I done anything wrong?"

Although she hadn't met all of them personally, she was aware that the Yu Family had three daughters, Yu Mo, Yu Yin, and Yu Se. Yu Jing'an had chosen his nineteen-year-old daughter to be Jingyao's wife, finding her more appropriate than any one of his daughters.

As soon as she had learned of his choice, Luo Wanyi was hesitant in conceding to his request. After all, the woman had been far too young to be married to someone as powerful and as dignified as Jingyao. It was only upon learning how well-matched their names and dates were, did Wanyi reluctantly agree to the union. After all, the man was already dead, and they were already considered a match made in heaven according to the priests they had visited.

Not wanting to explain anymore, Yu Se quickly motioned to Mo Jingyao, who was still in a coma. He had also been cleaned of all debris, and as the color had returned to his features, he was starting to look more lively than he had been back in the coffin. Not wanting to look at any of them any longer, she turned around and waved her hands at the nurses. "I'm done here. I'll leave her to you."

"You dare talk to me this way?" Luo Wanyi stomped towards her, flushed at the woman's words. This was the first time she had ever met such a disrespectful girl in years! The older woman was about to follow her past the corner of the ward when something caught her eye. "What is Jingyao's suit doing here?"

Upon a closer look, the suit was entangled with Yu Se's longevity dress.

These clothes were made of one of the most exquisite fabrics she had ever purchased. In fact, from the purchase order, the both of these were worth six million, six hundred and sixty thousand yuan! And now, they were covered in dirt like a bunch of rags! Her heart practically exploded in cold searing fury, and her eyes flashed in rage. Noticing this, the other doctors came over to explain things,

"Mrs. Mo, Miss Yu said that it's unlucky for them to wear these funeral outfits, so we changed Young Master Mo into a clean hospital gown." He hesitated. "Don't worry, the hospital had used new clothe as well."

"Wait? They? What did you just say?" Luo Wanyi made a beeline back into the ward. "Mo Jingyao's alive?"

Out of the corner of Yu Se's eyes, she could see the old woman clutching onto Mo Jingyao's hand as if her life had depended on it. Looking at this, she slowly backed away from the peering crowd. Her mission was done here. It was time for her to go. Bowing her head, she walked out of the hospital. "Not even a thank you," she murmured sarcastically, rolling her eyes.

At this point on, she was free as a bird, and that man–her 'supposed' husband–had absolutely nothing to do with her any longer. Moving forward, they were simply strangers who belonged to different sides of the world.

Besides, it was already true to some extent. Mo Jingyao was an heir to one of the largest companies in China. No matter how drop-dead gorgeous he was, he was still far out of her reach. The only reason they were in this situation in the first place was that he was declared dead, and now that he was alive and healthy, well...they really didn't need her at this point, did they?

The penniless Yu Se bounced towards the Yu Family household with her pink nurse's uniform, without a single care in the world. After all, she had just escaped death.

"Hey babydoll, what 'cha doing tonight?" A few men had winked her way. Other men had even whistled. Some even followed right behind her, but she wasn't afraid. Instead, she turned from their leers and clenched her hand close to her hips. She was lucky that it was broad daylight, so these men weren't really much of a threat. "Hey, baby, want to spend the night with me?"

Yu Se gritted her teeth, but she didn't say another word.

Once she had entered the Yu Family's villa, she silently entered the front door. Lucky for her, there weren't anyone inside, so she could easily sneak in and enjoy the next few hours in silence. "Stupid people, stupid coffin," she muttered to herself. It seemed that talking to herself was the only way she could keep herself sane with all these happenings. Locking the door behind her, she entered the shower.

Warm water fell down her body, and she sighed in relief. She had to wash herself for two more hours before she was willing to head out.

It was the only way to remove the scent of death and grime.

Yu Se had walked right out of the bathroom as soon as she was finished, refusing to look at her gaunt expression. It was a weird feeling, she had to say, to be out in the open under the broad daylight when a few hours ago, all she could see was the withering darkness around her. Her wrists ached at the memory, and she shifted her thoughts to another topic. Her hands fell onto her stomach.

Before the Mo's had taken her away, Yu Jing'an had brought her out to have a good meal. "Order whatever you like," he had stated out of good conscience, and she followed. She had eaten so much that day that she didn't feel hungry, especially after what she had gone through.

Never had she thought that her father was simply preparing her like a lamb for slaughter.

Not knowing how, Yu Se had fallen asleep that afternoon, and it was only a few hours did she finally open her eyes once again.

She peered out the window to see that night had swept over towards them. The lanterns were lit, and she could see a few shadows of people lurking across the sidewalk as they headed back to their own homes. "Have I really slept that long?" She rubbed her eyes.

Yu Se subconsciously took out her phone, glancing at the screen.

She hadn't used her phone the entire day, and now that she had just opened it, there were countless of missed calls.

Yu Jing'an, Chen Meishu, Yu Mo, Yu Yin, and even her brother Yu Yan, who had never called her, were among them.

Yang Anan, her best friend, and Teacher Zhang, her teacher, had called her out of concern.

Scanning through all the missed calls, Yu Se quickly returned Yang Anan's call.

It didn't take a few seconds until her panicked voice came through, "Yu Se? Where the hell are you?"

"I'm at home," she responded steadily.

There was a short pause, and she squeezed her eyes shut, knowing fully well that Yang Anan was already preparing her bundle of questions. "You're at home? Do you know that your parents are looking for you everywhere? Do you know how worried they are?" Yu Se could hear some frizzling noises from the background, followed by her best friend's shrieks. "And you're just at home? What the hell happened?"

Yang Anan continued to ramble about how worried she was when a knock came from the front door. However, just as she was about to get up, a voice echoed from the back, "Yu Se? I know you're there! Open the door."
