C9 Don't Even Think about It

"What did you just say?" Yang Anan wasn't paying attention to her casserole anymore. Instead, she picked up her phone and scrolled down to the recent articles that were posted. Upon reading the headlines, she glanced up, looking as if she had just been electrocuted. Her hand immediately went for Yu Se's arm, pulling her friend towards her.

"Wait, she's really your sister? So does that mean Mo Jingyao's going to be your brother-in-law?" Her eyes lit up in excitement. "Do you think you can get me his signature? That man's practically a god! I mean, a doctoral student at Harvard Business School and the president of Mo's Group–which by the way, is one of the best companies in the world!–the man's a dream-come-true."

Yu Se slapped her hand away, rolling her eyes. "If you're that into him, maybe you should get it yourself."

"You think I wouldn't if I could?" Yang Anan waved her hands up in the air. "The best I could do now is save his pictures in my phone. God, your sister's so lucky!"

Instead of responding to her friend, Yu Se lowered her head and focused on her clay pot. Although the man was truly handsome, the last look she remembered of him was back at the coffin, and the mere sight of his pale face...it gave her the creeps now. Shivering, she brought her attention back to reality and silently ate her food. As if getting her point, the two girls switched the topic to something else.

It was already the weekend, and normally, she'd be heading home by now. However, after what had happened a few days ago, she decided to stay in the campus.

Besides, it wasn't as if they had missed her existence. A few days had passed, and the Yu Family were distracted with the seemingly joyous news of Yu Mo being Mo Jingyao's fiancé. From the looks of it, they were even beginning to give out interviews like they were being paid to do so. "Ridiculous," she had murmured to herself, hiding her phone in her pocket.

They had already forgotten all about her.

Oh well, it wasn't as if she wasn't used to it.

Yang Anan, on the other hand, had gone home to her parents to recuperate after the long week she had on the campus. "Be safe, okay? I'll be back on time for school," she instructed like a mother lecturing her kid. By the time they've finished saying their goodbyes, she headed back to her car and waved at her. It was the first time Yu Se had spent the weekends all alone.

With a sigh, she bought a few packets of instant noodles and went back to the dormitory. It was a good thing she had saved up. "I did one thing right," she murmured bitterly to herself, sighing. She had never expected that their family would've ended this way, but she didn't seem that surprised too. It was like a long-predicted earthquake, one where she didn't know when it would strike.

They could just shove that hundred million up their asses.

From now on, they had nothing to do with each other–blood relations be damned.

Yu Se finished up the rest of her instant noodles and proceeded to spend the next two hours practicing the Nine Meridians Eight Veins Method. After the impact she had undertaken from being buried, this was the only way to repair the damage she had sustained in her internal organs. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. A month–it would take her a month to perfect this. That was going to be one hell of a long time.

Once she was finished, she began to do her homework in the library. In a blink of an eye, another two hours had passed.

It should've been silent at this time. However, as soon as she had closed her book, she could hear the crowd chattering around her. Her eyebrows furrowed over, and she couldn't help but peer at the table right beside her to see what they were looking at.

"Is that a McLaren GT?" One of the schoolboys sighed. "I wish I'd own one someday."

"Please, you're so excited about a car that's only worth 2 million yuan." The other girl rolled her eyes. "I, for one, could only wish to sit at one of Young Master Mo's private jets. God, if I could just feel the leather seats, I could die a happy woman."

"The both of you can dream on." The girl she had spoken to back at the restaurant cackled in glee. "Besides, he had already set his sights on Yu Se's sister, Yu Mo."

Upon hearing her name, everyone stared in Yu Se's direction with a brand new gleam in their eyes. It was as if they were only seeing her for the first time, and they definitely didn't see her as an ordinary classmate–at least, not anymore.

She avoided their stares, paying no heed to what was happening in the background. If it had anything to do with her sister, then she didn't want to be bothered either way.

As they were all chattering, the door to the library was slammed open. The man who had been driving that car this entire time, had walked right in. Immediately, the soft whispers quieted down. It was so silent, that anyone could hear a pin drop from a mile away.

The man was dressed in a black suit. Although he was no Young Master Mo, he was handsome enough to make all the girls drool in anticipation. They all followed his actions, one step at a time, all of them unwilling to blink.

Immediately, he stopped moving.

The entire room held their breath as they focused their gazes on Yu Se.

"Miss Yu," he said respectfully. "Director Luo has invited you to meet up with her."

She didn't respond.

"Uhm..." Coughing, he said again, "Director Luo has instructed Miss Yu to come with me."

However, Yu Se still didn't respond. Instead, she lowered her head into her book and continued to read. Her face remained impassive as if the man in front of her was nothing but a ghost. The crowd leaned over, anticipating to hear what she had to say.

"Miss Yu, what can I do to get you to agree with me?" At this point, the man was already running out of options. He scratched the back of his neck and bent down, to get a better look at the girl's face. "Miss Yu? Can you hear me?"

"Just stop bothering me," she stated.

He blinked. "But Miss Yu..." If he didn't bother her, would she even go?

Helplessness shown in his gaze, but he didn't say another word.

"Just go," Yu Se said once again with a ring of finality in her tone. Knowing that there was no point in arguing with her, the man walked out of the library, dialing Luo Wanyi's number as he entered the front seat. He sighed and shook his head.

Within a few minutes, the McLaren GT had left the premises.

Just when she had thought that everything was over, another car stopped in front the library half an hour later. Yu Se was so engrossed in reading her book that she didn't even noticed the car passing by.

However, the students around her behaved otherwise. Their ears perked in interest, and their eyes were glued to the number plate at the front of the car. A chorus of gasps echoed across the room, as everyone clapped their hands in anticipation.

It was Mo Jingyao's car. They had immediately known, because there was only one of those cars in the entire city.

The door opened.

Yu Mo gracefully stepped out of the car in her small white dress. Her dark hair fell to her back, framing her elegant features. There was a certain calmness hidden behind her brown eyes–one that had entranced almost every single male in the vicinity.

Seeing her, one of her female classmates quickly rushed to Yu Se's side. "Hey," she whispered. "Your sister's coming to see you, and she's using your brother-in-law's car! Go say hi!"
