C5 FIRST DAY

Mikayla couldn't believe her luck as she stood before the mirror, adjusting her crisp, professional suit and she couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in her reflection. Today marked the beginning of her new role as Mr. Lucas Steele's personal assistant, and she was determined to make a strong impression.

As she made her way to SteeleTech Towers, her heart raced with anticipation. She knew that her meeting with Mr. Steele's executive assistant, Victoria, would set the tone for her new position. Mikayla had already exchanged a few emails with Victoria, but today was their first face-to-face encounter.

Upon her arrival at the towering glass-and-steel building, Mikayla took a moment to gather her nerves.

With a deep breath, she entered the sleek lobby of SteeleTech Towers. The receptionist offered her a polite nod and directed her to the elevators. Mikayla couldn't help but feel a sense of awe as she ascended to the upper floors.

When the elevator doors opened on the executive floor, Mikayla's heart skipped a beat. She was met by the composed presence of a familiar face, it was the drop dead gorgeous woman she had interviewed with not long ago. She took a quick glance at her outfit and felt a tang of jealousy she was impeccable and stunning as usual even with her semi revealing two piece suit.

"Miss Victoria..... she called out unsure if she was the one, the mail did mention a new executive assistant.Victoria's smile was courteous, but there was an air of subtle arrogance about her that didn't go unnoticed.

"Good morning, Mikayla. It's a pleasure to officially meet you in person," Victoria said, her tone maintaining a polite veneer.

Mikayla shook Victoria's hand, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. "Likewise, Victoria. I'm really looking forward to working with you and Mr. Steele."

"Of course," Victoria replied with a hint of condescension. "Let's get started, shall we? I'll show you around the office and give you an overview of Mr. Steele's schedule."

Mikayla followed Victoria as they walked through the modern and spacious office. Her eyes darted from one impressive office suite to another, her heart still pounding with the realization that this was her new workplace.

As they settled in Victoria's office, Mikayla couldn't help but sense a subtle arrogance in Victoria's demeanor.

"Mr. Steele's schedule can be quite demanding," Victoria began, her tone measured. "He typically starts his day with a cup of hot, black espresso coffee after which series of internal meetings with department heads will be held, so you'll need to ensure those are well-organized. They take place in the executive conference room on this floor."

Mikayla nodded, jotting down notes as Victoria continued. "After the internal meetings, Mr. Steele often has external meetings with clients, partners, and other stakeholders. It's crucial that you manage his calendar efficiently, avoiding any conflicts. Any changes or cancellations need to be communicated promptly."

Victoria then delved into Mr. Steele's travel arrangements. "Mr. Steele's work often takes him to various cities, both domestic and international. You'll be responsible for arranging his travel, including flights, accommodations, and ground transportation. He prefers efficiency and comfort when he's on the move."

Mikayla scribbled down the details, trying to absorb the intricacies of her new role. Victoria's instructions were precise, and Mikayla knew that keeping Mr. Steele's schedule running smoothly was paramount.

"Additionally," Victoria continued, "Mr. Steele receives a substantial amount of email correspondence daily. You'll need to manage his inbox, flagging important messages, drafting responses on his behalf when necessary, and ensuring that nothing important slips through the cracks."

As Victoria concluded her detailed briefing on Mr. Steele's schedule and responsibilities, she stood up from her desk. "Now, Mikayla, let me show you to your office. It's right across from Mr. Steele's. You'll find it spacious and well-equipped for your role."

Mikayla followed Victoria as they left her office, their footsteps echoing through the sleek, modern corridor of the executive floor. Victoria led her to a door adorned with a polished plaque that read "Personal Assistant - Mikayla Theresa Roberts."

Mikayla couldn't help but feel a sense of awe as she stepped into her new office. It was indeed spacious, with a large window that offered a stunning view of the city skyline. The office was furnished with a sleek desk, comfortable chairs, and all the necessary equipment to support her in her role as Mr. Steele's personal assistant.

Victoria gestured toward the desk. "This is your workspace, Mikayla. You'll have everything you need here to manage Mr. Steele's affairs efficiently. Your proximity to his office will allow for easy communication and quick access and your necessary identification would be delivered to you by the end of today"

Mikayla felt a mix of excitement and nervousness as she imagined herself working in this prestigious environment, right across from the CEO's office. It was a far cry from her previous jobs, and she knew she had a steep learning curve ahead.

"Thank you, Victoria," Mikayla said, genuinely grateful. "I appreciate your guidance and support."

Victoria nodded with a subtle hint of approval. "You're welcome, Mikayla. I expect you to adapt quickly to your new role. Remember, you may be his personal assistant to help with his more personal affairs, I'm your boss and you'll be answering to both of us" she ended curtly

As Mikayla settled into her new office, Victoria paused at the doorway, her expression shifting from professionalism to something more serious. She leaned in slightly, her voice lowered to a confidential tone.

"Before I leave you to get acquainted with your workspace, Mikayla, I have one more piece of advice," Victoria said, her words carrying a weight of caution.

Mikayla looked up, her curiosity piqued. "Yes, Victoria? What is it?"

Victoria's gaze bore into Mikayla's, her tone grave. "You should be aware that Mr. Steele values his personal space and privacy. It's best to maintain a professional distance. Keep your interactions strictly related to work. Avoid getting too familiar or personal with him. And please keep your legs close, he's mine!!! You will do well to remember that, we may both be new to this but I've been working four days ahead of you, do you understand".

"Thank you for letting me know, Victoria," Mikayla replied, her tone sincere. "I'll make sure to maintain a professional demeanor."

Victoria gave a nod of approval, " he'll be here in fifteen minutes you should get started on that coffee" with that she turned and left Mikayla to settle into her new role.
