C5 Chapter

Melissa walked gingerly about her room getting all her things in order, she ignored the person knocking at the door as she made the finishing touch on her belongings.

"I will be leaving for Barcelona before I get to Oklahoma," Nikola said immediately he opened the door without warning "I have saved my number on your phone two nights ago when your friends brought you back home drunk".

Melissa angled her head in his direction and looked away as soon as she had turned.

"We are not kids and I know that you know I'm only doing this for the best of you".

She ignored him, walked to her bathroom then returned with her bathing soap, she couldn't forget that because she love it so much. Even more than the person that called himself her father.

"You have always been so selfish and self-centered!". Nikolas yelled, "I give the shit about you that's why you are still alive and free because I care".

Then it hit Melissa, she wore her head warmer as she gave him a daring look. She moved close to him quickly like she wanted to stab him or smash his head against the door he was leaning on.

"Why the fuck do you think I care if you are doing anything for me" Melissa blinked vigorously as she fought to hide the tears burning in her big brown eyes.

"The fact that your mother, who is my wife died a few years after I got married to her doesn't make me a bad person". The anger in Nikolas's voice was audible "Or an irresponsible father".

"You are not my father!".

"The second fact you had to leave under my payroll, got the scholarship to your dream school, and have people to watch over you made me much better than your biological father who asked your mother to abort you or he leaves".

Hell broke loose, Melissa stood still. She couldn't remember when she let the tears roll down her eyes but she could feel it wet the soft fabric.

"I -You know nothing about my father!".

"I know enough since you were not even born, had to be born, made your mother go through hell-" Nikolas walked away from her and walked to the door "I don't want to say much Melissa, but if you want to be a normal child as your late mother would have loved you to then act like one, you aren't longer a goddamn child but a young adult!".

He didn't go out, he stood still as if waiting for a reaction or response from his daughter. He shook his almost bard head in disappointment as he made to move out of the room.

"I don't seem to care what you think you must have done for me" Melissa sterned "But I will promise to be at peace with everyone, I won't have to call you".

She left her previous position, walked to the bed, and grabbed her bags, heading anxiously towards the door.

"I will do all it takes so I will never call you in my entire life".

The door banged a few inches away from Nikolas's face as Melissa walked out dragging along her bags. It took her solid eight minutes to get to the truck.

"I can still drive my ungrateful daughter to her new place".

Nikolas passed her, walked past the car, and open the door. He picked the car horn several times as she remained stolen eyeing both him and the truck.

"I don't care if you walk one thousand kilometers" He scoffed as he twisted the key and started the car "Just let your things get in and then you can walk till your legs get short".

The ride was a very boring one, Melissa kept changing the radio to get a good song that could maybe match her mood.

She smiled to herself as she began to imagine ungodly things she would do as she got her freedom. Becoming social would be her first assignment, getting a lot of boyfriends; hot ones to be precise, keeping late nights, and lots of parties.

She finally settled the music on calling me by your name by Lil mas x. She felt her father's eyes burn her left cheek as he switched the music to the next.

"I can't have you listen to that cramp".

She snorted, pressed the reverse button looking straight into his boring eyes, it was obvious she wanted a fight.

"I know you want something just spill it".

"I need this truck" she blurted "I can't always walk to school or anywhere I wanna go."

"I can't" Nikolas replied, his expression showing her was getting over irritated "You don't have a driving license".

"You refuse to give me one!".

"Because you refuse to open your eyes while driving" He shot "Even after I begged you keep on closing your eyes scared of the harmless moving vehicle".

"I can still push that aside".

"If you want a ride, get your driving classes right, obtain your license and I get you one".

"But-".

"We are not done talking, or you want me to drop you here. I bet you rather walk a few blocks to see your roommate".

If someone doesn't look well, they could mistake Melissa for a red alien. Her cheeks were fluffy and red, her big brown eyes looked very angry while her tangled red hair had spikes.

"You need to see your face!". Nikolas burst into laughing "Oh hell, you look like a fucking alien. Sorry, mind language".

"I am not a baby" Melissa yelled "If the driver has thought me well I won't be afraid".

"Now you blame the poor man, I thought you had a fake eye problem that goes almost blind whenever you take hold of the wheel".

Melissa paused for a moment or two, she turned slowly to Nikolas then back to the almost dark street. Of course, she was pissed but she would not let him step on her precious tail, she rather hid it between her surprisingly bigger butt.

"Fuck puberty sucks, but growing ass and boobs are my favorite". She once told Molly.

They arrived at a building, not far from a big Store in the quiet street. The street lights were not too dim but one could not help but strain the eyes before one could see a dim color.

Going away from a person you had known for a long seemed scary but going to leave with someone your barely know seemed like the scariest thing to think about.

Melissa stepped out of the van, she let the cool breeze kisses her skin as she went over to the boot to park out her things.

"Care to give me a hand Mr. Nikolas?".

"No thanks" Nikolas matched her sarcasm with his boring hazel eyes "At least 'Daddy, please would care to give me a hand' goes a long way".

The shock on Melissa's face made her red as her nature, she exhaled sharply as she began to offload it all by herself. She would never call the man that killed her mother daddy to his satisfaction.

"In case you forgot your room number is '404' " Nikolas yelled as she dragged two pieces of luggage into the apartment "On the tenth floor and I will just have to fold my lazy arms and wait for her since you refuse to call me Daddy. Honey".

Honey!!?

"Where the heck does that seem to come from?" Melissa asked herself as she punched the tenth button in the elevator "Why is he trying to act all nice these days?".

Locating room 404 wasn't a big deal to her, just as her Nikolas had explained it was on the left side on the tenth floor. She knocked for what seemed like a century before she gave up.

"I can help you carry your purse" Nikolas offered "I don't want to be too lazy".

"There is no one in the room".

"Oh! My bad" he exclaimed "She went out on a date, I have a spare key" he offered her the key as he attempted to carry her purse "I know how you like to ignore people so she would never be a problem to you, great news she would be only seen in the morning".

Melissa huffed as she grabbed the key roughly from the elderly man's grip. She groaned as she struggled with her things. She cast Nikolas a pleading look before moving on.

"Don't give me that look" he put both hands in his pocket "Heaven knows my hands are occupied."

"In your pocket?".

"You won't blame me, someone refused to call someone daddy".

"Why the hell am I still talking to you, I have no business with you anymore" she scoffed "Just got away, you have done well, now let me die with my loads".

Nikola mentally rolled his eyes as he ignored her rude comment. He walked ahead of her to the door and open it with a different key. He grinned at the surprised look on his daughter's face and shrugged.

"You know it is better to duplicate keys at Times" he opened the door as she dragged her things into a pink world "I see you got barbie as your friend".
