C11 Woman You Are Playing Hard to Get!(2)
After finishing her thoughts, Youyou gave herself a mental high-five for her cleverness. She never realized she could be so sycophantic. Judging by the expression on the president's wife's face, her flattery had hit the mark. Who knew she had a knack for this? Maybe she could rely on it to keep her job secure. As long as she kept the president's wife happy, she wouldn't have to worry about getting fired. She was quite the quick thinker.
"Ahem..." The woman gave a soft cough, a smile playing at the corners of her mouth despite her attempt to look serious. "Don't call me the president's wife. Young Master Yeh and I aren't married yet, and he's very particular about etiquette. It wouldn't be good if he heard."
"Got it, I'll be more careful," Youyou replied, thinking that this 'Young Master Yeh' she kept mentioning must be the company's president.
"Just call me Shali from now on." Shali tilted her chin slightly, exuding the air of a princess, full of superiority.
"Yes."
Shali crossed her arms and gave Youyou a scrutinizing look before speaking slowly, "I helped you get this job, so don't you think you should show some gratitude?"
Youyou looked at her, puzzled, not immediately grasping her meaning. Was she talking about returning a favor? Did she need her to do something?
Tentatively, she asked, "Miss Shali, what do you need me to do? As long as it's within my power, I'll give it my all."
"It's nothing serious, just a small favor. During work, if you see any women coming to see Yeh, I need you to keep them away. Don't let those questionable women bother him," Shali said, her tone full of possessiveness.
Youyou immediately understood. So that's what she meant—she wanted her to act as a sort of undercover agent and also shoo away unwanted attention? This might not be an easy task.
Sensing her hesitation, Shali added, "Don't worry. Yeh is very disciplined, and he finds those women annoying too. So just focus on keeping them away. He won't blame you."
"Alright, I understand. I'll do my best," Youyou replied, though she thought to herself, if he's really that disciplined, what's there to worry about? A disciplined man wouldn't be swayed by flirtation or entanglements, right? But seeing Shali's concern, it seemed her relationship with the boss wasn't that solid. Otherwise, why would she worry about her fiancé cheating behind her back?
Rosalie took a business card from her designer handbag and handed it to her. "Here's my card. It has my cell number and my contact info. If anything comes up, give me a call. If calling isn't convenient, just message me. Got it?"
Youyou eagerly accepted the card, nodding repeatedly. "Yes, yes, Miss Sally, don't worry. I'll make sure to do the job you entrusted to me well, to repay your kindness."
"Good..." Rosalie nodded in satisfaction. "You can head up now. As Night's secretary, remember to remind him not to overwork himself and to take breaks."
"Got it, I understand." Youyou nodded obediently. "I'll go report in now. If there's anything else you need, just give me a call."
