"That woman is so rude and arrogant; she'll never make a good secretary. Plus, she looks terrible. You should just fire her!" Xue Jiamin said, clinging to Yeh Yiming's arm as she tried to persuade him.

"You should head back. I have a lot to deal with today," Yiming replied, pulling his arm away with a hint of impatience. His tone was cool but carried authority.

Hearing his tone, Jiamin knew he was upset, so she didn't push further. Instead, she nodded obediently and said, "Okay, let me know when you're free. I'll be waiting..."

With that, she reluctantly stood on tiptoe to give him a kiss, but Yiming turned his face away, clearly avoiding her. The move was obvious, leaving Jiamin feeling awkward.

Qiao Youyou couldn't help but laugh softly, but a sharp glance from Yiming quickly silenced her. She knew she was already in trouble and couldn't afford to be too bold.

Jiamin shot her a furious glare, but despite her reluctance, she wisely left. Youyou thought to herself that she was in big trouble now.

She had hoped Jiamin would keep Yiming occupied, ideally dragging him back to the office so he wouldn't have the time or thought to deal with her. That way, she might just keep her job.

She felt a sense of frustration. Her expectations for that woman, Xue Jiamin, had clearly been too high. Just a pretty face, a useless vase who couldn't even keep a man's attention.

"Explain yourself!" Yeh Yiming crossed his arms, looking at her with a laid-back demeanor. This woman wasn't much to look at, but she had quite the temper and nerve.

She had the audacity to take matters into her own hands and send away the woman who came looking for him. Although he didn't really want to see Xue Jiamin either, it wasn't her place to make that decision without his say-so. He was curious about her intentions. Was she trying to get his attention on purpose? His deep eyes grew even more intense, and his tone turned cold: "Tell me, who gave you the right to send away my woman?"

Qiao Youyou trembled slightly, straightened her back, and confessed honestly, "Sir, I just started today and wasn't familiar with the situation. It was the secretary inside who told me to stop Miss Xue, saying you didn't want to see her."

In her mind, she thought about that woman inside, 'You were the one who acted unfairly first, so don't blame me for being ruthless.' She prided herself on her cleverness, always adhering to the principle: if people don't bother me, I won't bother them; if they do, I'll make sure they regret it.

That woman hadn't been friendly to her and even tried to scheme against her. With such a cunning and sly nature, she couldn't blame Youyou for pushing her under the bus. She wasn't exactly the forgiving type.

Yeh Yiming watched her with an amused expression. This woman was surprisingly calm; not many could face his anger and remain so composed.

Feeling slightly guilty under his scrutinizing gaze, she continued to explain, "Mr. Yeh, I didn't clarify the details and trusted your former secretary too easily. I'm willing to accept a deduction from my bonus as punishment."

She secretly chuckled to herself, thinking that she might not receive a bonus anyway. If it gets deducted, so be it. The boss didn't seem fond of her, so he might not have given her a bonus in the first place.
