C2 Sold!

I was stunned for a second, trying to wrap my head around what was happening—was I daydreaming or what?

I saw the smiling faces of my husband and my mother as they talked with the so-called priest while holding the cheque

"Did they sell me for money?" I muttered to myself, trying to grasp the meaning of what was going on.

"What are you?-" I couldn't finish my question because the two hooded men gripped my hands before my junior sister walked towards me and pressed a handkerchief onto my nose.

Before I could protest, I felt my body feel dizzy as my conscience drifted away.

HOURS LATER.......

I felt a bucket of water pour down my body, and I flung my wet eyelid open.

"Oh well, the beauty has woken up; I thought you were dying."

"Was the dosage too much?" "Because this is the tenth bucket of water we have consumed on you." The voice came from a balding man.

The dim light of the room didn't do more justice to his figure, as I couldn't clearly see his features, and to add to my headache, he was wearing a facemask.

I glare at him in anger and confusion, and although my brain starts to register the dire situation I have been pushed into by the members of my family, I refuse to accept this fate.

I thought this only happens in movies. Or am I in a movie?

"Tsk-tsk!" I heard the sound of twisted fingers in the air, causing me to return from my thought.

"It seems you are allowing the moment to sink into your head, but I don't have time for that, darling." I heard the bald-headed man speak.

"Who are you and why did you bring me here?" I question him with a frown; if this is a big joke, they should stop it right now.

"Oh my!" I heard a melancholy voice hit my eardrum as a young figure of a being rose from a kind of metal chair.

The sound of his shoes thudding on the tiled floor pierced my ears, along with the clicking sound of a steel gun at the corner of his black pants.

Unlike the bald-headed man, this one wasn't wearing any mask at all; his dark brown eyes were glued to mine as he walked in powerful steps to where I was.

The breeze blew his shoulder-length black, permed hair, making it look slightly unkempt.

"Don't do anything to her" I heard the warning tone of the bald head man causing me to become wary of my surrounding.

"Did they bring me here for sacrifice?" I gulped in fear.

Immediately after he reached where I was tied, he squatted down with a disgusting expression on his face. Just by taking a glance at him, you will know how handsome and manly he looks. For a second, I felt admiration for this man, but his next question caught me off guard.

"Are you a virgin?"

"Huh!" I yelled in shock before glaring at him.

"Who dares you ask me such shameless questions?" You pervert." I cursed.

"Now untie me before my husband chops your head off!" I threatened, even though I knew it was all a lie.

I still haven't digested the feeling that my mother and my fiancé sold me off—for what exactly? A petty some of amount? Is it enough to trade my life and freedom for?

"Argh!" I cried in pain when a cold hand gripped my chin firmly.

"Are you a fool?" "Or you just want to be stubborn?" The handsome man yelled at me.

"Thierry, take it easy on her," I heard the bald man say.

"Of course, father," he responds with a wicked smile on his face.

I listened to the little exchange of words between the two strangers: "So his name is Thierry; want a wasted nice name?" I mumbled and received a piercing gaze.

"Has your small brain not registered it yet?" He started while tilting his head to the side to get a perfect view of my pained face.

"Such a poor thing, well, your mother and your precious lover sold you to us, so, miss Lilith, you now belong to us, to the vipers!" He narrated, causing my body to go numb as I tried to sink the information into my brain.

"How? And why? What for? "He loves me, and my mother does; you must be a liar." I tried to counter.

Although there is a certain fear lingering in my heart because there are some facts mirroring the truth, why were they holding a cheque happily?

"Hahaha!" I felt the man avert his fingers from my chin before throwing his head backwards for a laugh.

"Believe it or not, my dear, I believe you saw my men paying them off, or are you blind?" "Newsplash baby, you have been trafficked to us!" He announced loudly.

"Oh no!" I yelled in pain as my head registered all the pointing evidence.

"So it was all a facade?" To love and be brought to the wedding ground only to be sold off? I thought he loved me. But how could my mother do this to me? "I thought mother's love was unconditional," I lamented in pain.

"Oh no!"I burst out in tears as I remembered how my very own sister pressed a handkerchief into my nose and I fell unconscious.

"Oh no, please don't cry; a beauty like you shouldn't worry." The bald man spoke to me before clicking his fingers.

I saw a hooded man walk towards him and bow his head before the man whispered something to him, which I couldn't hear.

"I bought you for a million naira, so it's time to be useful and work back the money for me; maybe I might even free you." He said this to me, causing my eye to rise in hope.

"Please, what do you want me to do, sir?" I quickly asked respectfully; besides, I couldn't believe my family could sell me off for such a small amount. I know my family is poor, but are they so cheap?

"Now strip!" The vigorous tone Pierce my ear and I froze with my eyes wide open.
