"Mother, wake up."
A weak child's voice rang in her ears. Soong Xijiao frowned and got up from the bed. She felt an emptiness in her stomach and reluctantly opened her eyes.
Where is this place? She narrowed her eyes and circled the room. What entered her eyes was a small boy of about five or six years old. His body was dirty, and there were bruises all over him.
The boy carefully looked at the fear in his eyes, as if he was extremely scared. After a long while, he finally spoke out two words, "Mother, I am hungry."
Soong Xijiao's words had also successfully aroused the hunger in her stomach. She once again circled around the room and confirmed that this was not the studio she usually worked in, but a simple, crude, adobe room. There was a big hole in the roof of the house, and the wind was blowing in and out.
Who was he? Where was this? Why did this little boy call him mother? She had been single for 23 years and hadn't even touched a boy's hands. How could she suddenly have a son called her mother?
Along with her retort, mixed memories that originally did not belong to her gradually appeared in Soong Xijiao's mind.
She had only slept on the table after her work was exhausted, yet she had actually crossed over to the Great Zheng Dynasty, which was not recorded in any historical records. Fortunately, the memory of this body had not been lost, so she was able to grasp at her own situation.
The original owner of this body was Miss Song Yongxu from the Third Branch of Soong Family, one of the wealthiest families in the city. Because I was lazy to eat and do, my four limbs weren't working, I didn't care for any of the dishes, and I didn't like any of the master. Furthermore, the Second Branch and the Third Branch had their own contradictions, and the Third Branch's son was a gambler.
After that, the original owner followed his mother and brother and moved out of the house. Unfortunately, the last of his savings was also lost by his gambling addict, and he was even forced to marry someone else to repay his debt with a betrothal gift.
The hateful thing was that not only was the original owner useless, she also had a weak personality and wanted to curry favor with the relatives who had chased them out of the clan, hoping that she would one day return to the Soong Family to continue being her young miss.
First Madame's birthday was coming up in a few days. The original owner, regardless of whether he was already broke or not, still wanted to buy gifts from First Madame. Because of this dispute with his husband, he actually starved himself to death.
Soong Xijiao cursed in her heart. In these days and years, there was actually such an outrageous woman who starved herself to death just to curry favor with others, and for the sake of wealth and honor. It wasn't that she couldn't accept the reality of her transmigration, but that she couldn't accept the fact that she transmigrated to the body of the original owner of such a high quality.
"Mother, are you alright?" The child looked at her with wide, open eyes, but still frightened.
'Forget it, 'she said, rubbing her flat stomach.' Let's first settle the matter of eating first. ' She struggled to her feet and patted the boy's head. "What do you want to eat? Mom will make it for you."
The boy instinctively took a step back and mumbled, "Mother, you cooked a big piece of meat in the kitchen and it's dark. You can't use it anymore."
She was suddenly speechless. Just what was going on? The Steppes Master was undiligent and could burn down the entire kitchen with just a single meal?
When the child saw that his expression was not friendly, he carefully pinched the corner of her skirt and said, "Mother, we can wait for daddy to come back. Daddy went to hunt in the back mountains, he should be back by nightfall."
Soong Xijiao looked out the window at the bright sun and rubbed her stomach while she sang the song of the stratagem. She clapped her hands and decided to eat until her father came back. She was afraid that the yellow flower would be cold.
She went to the kitchen, where the poor kitchen had just gone through a fire. Both walls were black with smoke, and the stove was a mess.
The boy carefully stepped back. He knew very well that every time his mother cooked, it would be no less than a disaster.
Soong Xijiao sighed, picked up the colourless iron pot on the stove, poured some water into it, and washed it until it returned to its original appearance. She then took advantage of the time it took to soak in the water, and unexpectedly found that there was nothing else in the room to eat but a small bag of rice.
She had been so unlucky, she thought despairingly, to have found such an owner after eighteen lifetimes of bad luck.
"Mother, I'm not hungry. Let's not cook anymore, okay? When daddy comes back, father will bring us good food." the boy said cautiously.
Only then did she remember that the original owner of this body had not been good to Shed before, because Shed was not his own child, but had been picked up by his husband from the outside and had very little affection for him, so she would often scold him, ignoring his hunger and cold, always calling him a little animal who begged for food, so children were always very afraid of him.
"Shed, be good. Go outside first. Mother will go find some food for you to eat."
The boy nodded his head obediently. Looking at him in such a pitiful and sensible manner, he felt pity for him. He thought to himself that he must treat this child well in the future.
She took a small shovel and went out to search the back of the house. Not long after, she saw some bitter vegetables, and she understood that his father was a hunter who relied on the mountains to survive and the water to survive.
"Mom, can you eat this?" She bit her lips and asked.
"You don't understand?" Soong Xijiao condescendingly looked at the chestnut and said, "You probably don't know this." This is called bitter cabbage, is a perennial herb, also known as abalone, there are antibacterial, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, bright and other effects.
She washed the bitter food well and then went to make some ingredients. She added some salt to the dish and stirred. After a while, a fresh and fragrant bitter dish was born.
She didn't know when the mother who cooked and burned the kitchen had become so powerful.
She used the small half-empty bag of rice to make some rice porridge and sent chestnuts to carry the porridge and vegetables to the wooden table in the yard. Even though she was drooling over her food, she was still well-behaved and didn't move her chopsticks. She waited for Soong Xijiao to finish tidying up the kitchen before eating.
"Yo, what are you eating?" With a woman's voice that sounded harsh, a woman in her mid-twenties swaggered in.
Shed froze on the spot and waited for a long time before calling her aunt in a low voice.
"Shut up, you and I have nothing to do with each other. "You're just a wild child picked up by that man, I can't afford to say that."
Hearing the commotion, although Soong Xijiao was curious as to who it was, she still cleaned up the kitchen and walked out leisurely.
