C14 Crashed off the Cliff!
The elders of the Su family gathered together, their faces marked with seriousness and concern. Seeing no one speaking up, Su Luo broke the silence, "Head of the family, it's time for us to strike back. The Zhao family has been so overbearing, causing harm to so many of our Su family members. It's time to show them what we're made of, or they'll think we're afraid of them."
Su Baihan sighed, "Indeed, it's time. Only by resolving the conflict between the Su and Zhao families can we ensure the safety of our members in hiding." He then turned to Su Bainan, "Have you reached out to our ancestor?"
Su Bainan replied, "The ancestor has agreed to lend us a hand."
"Since that's the case, let's act tonight. There's no time to waste," Su Baihan declared, standing up. "Bainan, make the arrangements."
"Yes," Su Bainan responded.
Su Bainan sent invitations to the five families for a gathering tonight. Even though everyone knew it was a dangerous meeting, they dared not refuse. Not attending would mean openly opposing the Su family, and even the Zhao family wouldn't risk such a confrontation, so they had no choice but to attend.
As the evening progressed and the drinks flowed, it was time to discuss serious matters. The disciples in the room surrounded the guests, while Su Luo, Su Baidong, Su Qing, Su Baitian, and Su Baichen led their disciples to control the members of the five families.
Everything was under the Su family's control, except for Fuqi, who was engaged in a struggle with the injured Zhao Fuming and the Su family disciples. The other four families remained compliant.
Su Baihan was struggling, as Fuqi's attacks were vicious and unpredictable. His folding fan was particularly deceptive, hiding countless deadly weapons, each strike potentially lethal.
Suddenly, a voice boomed, "Who dares to cause trouble in Fallen Mountain City?" It resonated like an ancient bell, unsettling everyone and shaking the entire city.
Seeing this, Fuqi turned pale. The Su family must have been pushed to their limits to call upon their ancestor. Before Fuqi could react, the ancestor appeared before him, delivering a powerful blow that sent him flying several yards away, landing hard on the ground.
"Are you the one causing chaos in Fallen Mountain City?" The ancestor's eyes were piercing, like thousands of sword lights targeting one's very soul. Knowing he was outmatched, Fuqi used a secret technique to escape, leaving Zhao Fuming behind, panic-stricken.
"Fuqi, Fuqi, you can't leave me here..." Zhao Fuming cried out, collapsing to the ground. He then turned to the ancestor, pleading, "Please, spare me, sir. It was all Fuqi's doing. He made us do it, it was all him..."
The ancestor, growing impatient with his excuses, swiftly struck with his sword, slicing Zhao Fuming in half. His eyes remained wide open, unable to find peace even in death, as he fell to the ground.
After the family elder finished his business, he returned to the secluded mountains to continue his training, leaving Su Baihan to handle the rest. The Zhao family's elders had their powers stripped and were left in a dazed state, abandoned in a desolate area. As for the rest of the Zhao family, they were dealt with leniently—some left, while others stayed. The Su family took a forgiving approach.
All of the Zhao family's assets were transferred to the Su family. The remaining four families, having witnessed the Zhao family's downfall, were warned and dared not entertain any ambitions. Peace finally returned to Fallen Mountain City. News of the Spirit Mine reached the Su family, and Su Baihan praised the cleverness of his disciples.
The Spirit Mines of the Liu and Wei families were now under Su family control, with a fixed monthly distribution of Spirit Stones to them. The next task was to locate the missing disciples. Su Baihan publicly declared in the South Domain that the previous rumors of treasure were mere fabrications by the Zhao family. The Su family elder would never entrust such treasures to a few inexperienced disciples.
This statement led many to abandon their pursuit, though the Murong family and a few other factions remained relentless. The Su family dispatched five groups in different directions, determined to find the disciples before the Murong family did.
Su Qianxun and the others knew they couldn't stay there any longer. Just as they exited the canyon, they ran into people from the Murong family who were chasing them. Forced to retreat, they found themselves at the edge of a cliff with nowhere to go.
Leading the Murong group was a woman with an imposing presence. She pointed her black-gold spear and demanded, "Which one of you is Su Qianxun?"
The group remained silent, no one daring to answer. Su Qianxun stepped forward. "I am Su Qianxun. And you are?"
"Murong Mingyue," she replied arrogantly, lowering her spear.
"Murong Mingyue, the top prodigy of the South Domain," Su Zimo murmured.
"That's right, I'm Murong Mingyue. Su Qianxun, since you're the daughter of Helan Ruoling, show me what you're capable of." With that, her spear lunged forward. Su Qianxun narrowed her eyes, ready to dodge, but unexpectedly, a sword hummed in the air, clashing with the spear, forcing both of them to step back.
"Who are you to interfere?" Murong Mingyue's anger flared as she glared at Su Zimo.
"Su Zimo," he replied, his sword as sharp and fierce as Murong Mingyue's spear.
"Hmph, this is between Su Qianxun and me. No one else is allowed to interfere," Murong Mingyue declared sternly.
"Su Qianxun is my junior, and it's only natural for a senior to protect their junior. How could it be otherwise? Anyone who wants to challenge my junior today will have to get through me, Su Zimo, first." Su Zimo stood to the side, forming a solid wall in front of the Su family disciples.
Su Qianxun looked at his tall figure, and it was impossible not to feel moved. With her current skills, even with talisman paper in hand, she couldn't defeat this prodigious young woman.
"Fine, today, I am determined to compete with Su Qianxun," Murong Mingyue declared stubbornly. When she set her mind on something, no one in the Murong family dared to oppose her.
As the Murong family disciples clashed with those of the Su family, Su Zimo and Murong Mingyue squared off. Su Qianxun approached Su Zimo, saying, "Senior, let me handle this. It's between her and me."
Su Zimo wanted to say more, but seeing the determination in Su Qianxun's eyes, he closed his mouth and went to assist the other Su family disciples.
"Your skills are quite lacking, but you certainly have the courage of a prodigy. Let's see who gave you the nerve to challenge me at the third level of Qi Refining against my ninth level." The black spear thrust forward, and Su Qianxun sidestepped to avoid it.
As they brushed past each other, a talisman paper flew toward Murong Mingyue. Furious, she turned and kicked Su Qianxun with the full force of her ninth-level Qi Refining strength.
Su Qianxun spat out a mouthful of blood as she fell uncontrollably off the cliff. "Qianxun!" Su Changyi shouted, reaching out desperately. Su Zimo's hand was just inches away, but it was too late.
In the air, there was a loud "bang" as Murong Mingyue was also injured by the talisman paper. With no other choice, she led the Murong family disciples in a hasty retreat.
