C4 Pick up a Man

"What are you doing!" Soong Qiu'er had difficulty breathing and her face was flushed. Just as she thought that she was about to suffocate to death, the hand suddenly let go and completely stopped moving.

Soong Qiu'er lay on the ground, patting her chest as she tried to catch her breath. It wasn't easy for her to catch her breath, so she stood up and kicked the man twice to express her anger.

Soong Qiu'er cursed a dead pig in a low voice. She squatted down and examined his wound, then wiped away the medicinal herb that he had worked so hard to harvest.

After an unknown period of time, Soong Qiu'er wiped the sweat off her forehead. Seeing that he still hadn't woken up, she felt troubled in her heart.

The sky gradually darkened. Wild beasts were definitely lurking in the wilderness at night. If this unconscious person was left here without a care, then he would definitely be burnt to ashes the next day.

Soong Qiu'er sighed and pulled the man up as if she was resigned to her fate. The man's frame was tall and muscular, which made it difficult for Soong Qiu'er to carry him. Soong Qiu'er took a deep breath, gritted her teeth, and lifted him up.

Putting the man down, Soong Qiu'er bent down to pick up a jade pendant and saw it lying on the floor. Soong Qiu'er picked it up and felt the warmth on the pendant.

Soong Qiu'er flipped the jade pendant over and over again. Other than the word 'Murong' written on it, there was nothing else. However, she could tell that this man's identity was extraordinary. Soong Qiu'er put the jade pendant into her pocket, then pulled the man back up and walked down the mountain.

When she reached home after much difficulty, she found that there was no light inside, and most likely, she had already gone to sleep.

Soong Qiu'er bent down to lean against the window, seeing that everyone was asleep, she dragged the man to the woodshed, but the man's body touched somewhere and made a sound. Immediately, there was movement in the room, and Madam Qian, wearing a flowery cotton jacket, rushed out and screamed, "Thief, stop right there!"

"Aunt." Soong Qiu'er hurriedly stopped Madam Qian, who wanted to hit her. With a forced smile, she said, "I'm back."

Madam Qian rolled her eyes in annoyance. "It's enough to die outside, what are you back for!"

She yawned and was about to go back to sleep when she saw a shadow behind Soong Qiu'er. Madam Qian looked over and saw a man lying behind Soong Qiu'er. She screamed, "Soong Qiu'er, you bastard, you actually brought a wild man home!"

"Aunt!"

Soong Qiu'er wanted to shut her mouth, but Madam Qian directly ran into the room and pulled Soong Dazhuang who was woken up, and pointed at the man coldly: "Hey, from what you said, I thought your old Soong Family was very pure, but it turns out it's not like that. You dare to bring a wild man into the house at only thirteen years of age, it's really incredible!"

"Qiu'er, what's going on?!" Soong Dazhuang didn't believe Soong Qiu'er was such a person. He pulled Madam Qian behind him and glared fiercely at Soong Qiu'er, wanting to get a general idea of what happened.

Soong Bao'er also put on her clothes and walked out, leaning against the wall to fan the flames. "What else could there be? Big sister must be feeling lonely, wanting to steal someone to relieve her at night."

These words were extremely unpleasant to hear. A girl who said it had a bad temper. Soong Dazhuang knocked on Soong Bao'er's door and walked in front of Soong Qiu'er: "If you don't explain yourself today, get out of uncle's house."

Seeing Soong Dazhuang's anger, Soong Qiu'er did not dare to say anything. She hid the fact that she knew about the medicinal ingredients and refused to let her mind wander as she picked up the man in front of her.

Soong Dazhuang was a bit confused, but when he saw the man's body was covered in wounds, even with medicine covering it, it was still difficult to cover up the terrifying wound. He was about to speak, but Madam Qian forced herself on him: "You ate our wounds, then you dared to pick up a burden.

Soong Qiu'er walked in front of the man, her eyes filled with tears. She felt wronged, "Aunt, this man's body is full of wounds. If I throw him out, he'll definitely die. Let him stay here until he's injured."

What a joke, just by looking at this man's jade pendant one could tell that he had a high status. If he sold the jade pendant, he might bring about a fatal disaster.

However, if she cured him and asked for a sum of money, she wouldn't have to suffer under Madam Qian's protection anymore. She might even get some opportunities, and she would definitely seize this opportunity, but Madam Qian didn't seem to be willing to give her any at all.

"What does the injury on this person have to do with me? It's best if he dies." Madam Qian's tone was harsh. "Hurry up and throw it as far away as possible. What bad luck it is."

Soong Qiu'er glanced at the people in the yard. Madam Qian and Soong Bao'er didn't need to be mentioned. Soong Dazhuang also had a face of silence as he agreed with Madam Qian's words.

Can't, Soong Qiu'er gritted her teeth and took out her jade pendant, "Aunt, I took this out from this man, it looks like it's worth a lot of money. If we keep him, his family will definitely find him someday and give us a huge amount of silver."

Under the moonlight, the jade pendant reflected a round light. Madam Qian looked at it, her eyes staring straight ahead.
