C6 Be Slandered

Soong Qiu'er carried the stack of firewood out the door and looked coldly at Soong Bao'er. Soong Bao'er was standing in the middle of a group of three, four, and six women. They were talking about something when they saw Soong Qiu'er and Ah Mu come out together and burst into laughter.

A young girl looked at Ah Mu and sneered: "I heard from my mother that Soong Qiu'er brought a wild man home yesterday. I didn't expect her to bring him out in broad daylight today."

"That's true. Big sister and Ah Mu might be newly wedded." Soong Bao'er walked up to Soong Qiu'er and sized her up. With a sharp smile, she asked, "Sister, don't you think so?"

Soong Qiu'er did not reply, but walked around Soong Bao'er, and Ah Mu was stopped by Soong Bao'er, unable to do anything. Soong Qiu'er did not reply, but walked around Soong Bao'er, but Ah Mu was stopped by Soong Bao'er, unable to do anything.

Madam Qian was carrying a fish that had its stomach ripped open. The basket in her hands was extremely heavy. It was unknown what she had bought.

She put her things on the stove and was a little shocked when she saw that the firewood was already chopped. She turned around and saw that Ah Mu and Soong Qiu'er were still standing there without moving. They rolled their eyes in annoyance and put their hands on their waists as they cursed: "What are you standing here for? Hurry up and go wash my clothes!"

"Auntie, fish." Ah Mu walked in front of the stove, picked up the fish tail upside down and brought it to Soong Qiu'er with a face full of curiosity.

Madam Qian hurriedly grabbed the fish and put it into the bowl behind her. She pointed at Soong Qiu'er and scolded her, "What are you trying to say? Are you trying to order your little lover to steal my fish?!"

Hearing this, Soong Qiu'er frowned and didn't want to explain, but Soong Bao'er suddenly crossed the door and walked in. She looked at the item Madam Qian bought today, took out a packet of candies from the basket, broke off a piece and placed it in her mouth to chew.

"It seems that you, Bao'er, didn't sleep last night. You should lie outside the woodshed and listen to the noises inside." Soong Qiu'er was suddenly enlightened. She pointed at Soong Bao'er with her right hand and said, "So Bao'er is so concerned about me."

"You!" Soong Bao'er did not expect Soong Qiu'er to say this. Her face flushed red and she forgot to speak. After a long while, she finally said a few words, "Shameless!"

Seeing her own daughter being bullied, Madam Qian was naturally unhappy, as she spat out sharp words, "Bringing a man home in the middle of the night, only your uncle would believe your lies, if not for that jade pendant, I would have thrown him out long ago. Fortunately, the jade pendant is worth a lot."

Jade pendants were valuable?

When Soong Qiu'er heard this, her eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at Madam Qian, "You couldn't have … sold the jade pendant, right?"

"If I don't sell it, I might as well use it as a family heirloom. I don't have the leisure to do so." Madam Qian took out two silver notes from her chest and smiled like a miser. "Two hundred taels of silver was enough for me to spend my whole life!"

Seeing Madam Qian's miserly smile, Soong Qiu'er felt nauseous in her heart. Soong Bao'er rushed forward to snatch the banknotes, turned them over and over, then happily touched them twice, laughing out loud, "Mother, let's go to the street tomorrow to cut clothes. It's winter already, I still don't have a good coat."

Madam Qian was afraid that Soong Bao'er would wrinkle her silver notes, so she carefully took them and ran to the bamboo basket. She took out some biscuits and pastries wrapped in oiled paper and placed them on the stove.

Soong Bao'er opened an oilskin package that released the fragrance of pig's elbows. It tempted people in the small and shabby house for no reason. Soong Qiu'er became angry when she saw the two of them eating and drinking with Ah Mu's jade pendant.

They clearly didn't do anything, yet they still acted shamelessly. The original owner must have been living the same life for the past thirteen years. Soong Qiu'er rushed forward and snatched the oil paper bag from Soong Bao'er's hands, her face full of resentment, "Why can't you eat it!"

"Soong Qiu'er, are you trying to rebel now?!" Madam Qian stared blankly for a moment. It was as if she did not expect Soong Qiu'er to resist and wanted to push Soong Qiu'er away, but a tall figure suddenly appeared behind Soong Qiu'er, coldly looking down at her.

Madam Qian was so scared that she retreated a few steps. She thought she was being watched by a cold venomous snake, but when she looked again, Ah Mu's face was still full of kindness. It was just that he was too tall and his face was shadowed by a small beam.

Patting her chest, Madam Qian still had some lingering fear. She looked at Ah Mu with some fear, seeing that Ah Mu was as naive as a child, she heaved a sigh of relief.

It was obvious that she was a kung fu practitioner, but Madam Qian could not see through her and even cursed as she tried to pull the fire pincer back. In the end, a cracking sound came from the connection and Madam Qian lost her support for a moment, causing her to retreat a few steps, supported by Soong Bao'er, who barely managed to stand up.

Everyone looked at the fire pincers that were split in half from the middle while Ah Mu put the rest aside and asked Soong Qiu'er if she was alright.

He actually broke it.
