C4 Luke's powers?..

I knew I couldn’t be seen beside that large hole without been queried. I ran speedily away from that spot and didn’t stop running until I bumped into someone and bounced back to the ground. I looked up to see who it would be.

It was the same bastard I had seen in class. He stared at me with anger in his eyes. I sat up and was rubbing my paining forehead when he reached down and grabbed me, he tossed me across the hall and I hit my back against a locker. He rushed at me and started throwing different kind of punches at me, I couldn’t dodge nor escape. I was at his mercy, I fell to the floor in pain.

He bent down and looked directly into my eyes; “Next time watch where your going, homie” he said before walking away from the scene.

I groaned in pain as blood trickled from my forehead unto my shirt, I was badly messed up. Lots of students gathered round, some were laughing at me and taking pictures while some others were making videos. “Bastards” I cursed in my mind.

A girl made her way through the crowd, it was Gwen. She rushed towards me with a white towel, she knelt beside me and wiped blood off the bruises on my face. I couldn’t stop looking into her eyes as she did this- She was so beautiful!

“I am sorry” she said calmly. I was speechless, I just stared at her beautiful face without saying a word- I loved her! There was no other explanation for what I felt for her.

She pulled me unto my feet and flung my arm across her shoulder. I limped beside her as we went down the corridor. She took me to the nurse's office and left. The nurse dressed my wounds with some plasters and sent me back to class.

I pulled off the blood stained shirt and went back to class obediently. I walked in and went past the female teacher straight to my seat, Luke looked at me; “Sorry bro, you look badly messed up” he said shaking his head slowly. I shrugged.

The female teacher walked up to my seat and looked closely at me.

“and you are?” she asked.

She looked like she was in her mid thirties. She was slim and wore a short red dress. I raised a brow- Why me?!

“Philip” I replied coldly. She nodded and walked slowly back to the front of the class.

She smiled; “I love Nigerians. Their culture is so-“ The loud school bell went off interrupting her sentence. I looked at the clock, it was two o clock. The students scurried out of the class before the teacher could even utter any word, I put my books into my bag and stood up. Alice came from behind me and whispered into my ear; “I know you like her”.

She didn’t even wait for me to say anything as she walked out of the class grinning happily.

Luke laughed.

He walked closer to me and said in a low tone; “I think I am a Vampire now”.

After all the happenings of the previous night I knew there was a huge possibility for that to be true but I had to be sure.

“Look, we can’t just jump into conclusions. We have to be sure”.

He nodded.

Then he flung his arms across my shoulder as we walked out of the class together like buddies. School was over, some students were by their lockers while some were heading out through the main door.

“Wait, I forgot to ask. Where the hell is my locker?” I asked.

Luke smiled and pointed at it; “Beside mine and beside Gwen's locker”. Gwen?! I looked almost immediately and saw Gwen by her locker arranging her books. Damn! It had to be now or never, I had to ask her out. Luke patted my shoulders; “Go for it bro” he said reassuringly.

I gathered up courage and walked towards my locker, I opened it slowly and stacked it with my books then I closed it and turned to her; “Hi” I said timidly. She looked up at me with her beady eyes and I continued; “I just wanted to thank you for how you helped me the other time. It was really kind of you”.

“Don’t mention” She said.

OMG! My courage was gone- Can I actually do this? Damn! I’m such a coward! I was about to turn and go when a thought crossed through my mind; “What’s the worst that could happen dude!? Ask her, if she says No. Well then you’ll just have to move on”.

I turned back to her.

“Uh- I also wanted to ask if you would like to go out sometime or maybe we could just like- hangout”.

She was quiet for some seconds then she sighed loudly.

“Look, am very sorry for what I did and how I acted the other time but I am really not into dating and stuff” she said calmly. I was so heartbroken; she didn’t even say she would consider thinking about it. I turned to go.

“Wait”

I stood still at the sound of her voice, I turned around and looked back at her gleefully- Did she change her mind? Was she about to say yes?!

“Maybe I will think about it. Can I have your number in case I change my mind” she said. I collected her phone and typed in my number, she saved my number, then she looked up at me and said; “I will probably call or text you later, but thing is I get to choose where we will hang out” I nodded my head happily- Why not!

She slammed her locker shut and walked away, I fixed my gaze on her trailing her with my eyes as she walked out the door. Luke clapped and walked towards me. He was smiling, I was sure he had seen everything that happened.

“Trust me dude, she'll certainly call you” he said. I smiled happily, maybe today wasn’t the worst day of my life after all.

I pulled up in front of the old brick house, we both came down from the Porsche and began to walk towards the woods.

“Yo, what are the true abilities and powers of a Vampire?!” Luke asked.

I looked at him and smiled.

“Let’s find out”.

Soon we had already gone very deep into the woods, I turned to Luke; “Now this is the perfect spot” I said.

“Wow” he said. “Are we really about to do this. Damn! Am so creeped out! What if-“.

“Chill out dude!” I cut in. I brought out my phone and searched for; “The most common Powers of a Vampire”. The results came out and I looked up to Luke.

“Speed!”

He raised a brow and frowned.

“What do you mean speed! Can you be a little more transparent”.

“I mean you should be able to move very fast, like super speed!”.

Luke smiled. “Ok man, but like how fast?”

“How the hell am I supposed to know? You’re the Vampire here! Ok you know what, run as fast as you can in circles around me”.

He shrugged.

Then he started off slowly, running as quickly as he could after some time he doubled his speed. In a few seconds, his movement became so rapid! He was moving at super human speed. He was so fast that I couldn’t even tail his movement with my eyes. I became extremely dizzy and fell to the floor. Oh hell yeah! He was certainly a Vampire now.

“Stop!” I cried out loudly.

Luke came to a full halt almost immediately, both his hands were on his knees as he was panting loudly. He was trying to catch his breath. He walked towards me laughing loudly; “Did you just see that! Did you see how fast I was moving right now?! I’m fucking invincible man!” He shouted.

I stood up and scrolled down wards on my phone. While he stared at me impatiently waiting for what I would say next. I smiled and looked up at him again; “Strength!”.

He looked around until he sighted a very huge log , he ran towards it as I stared anxiously at him. He placed his hand under the giant log and raised it high above his head with a single hand- I stared in amazement. He dropped the log to the ground and shouted excitedly; “Anything else?!”.

“Try jumping” I yelled back.

He jumped and went up very high, way higher than any normal human would. It was like as if his body had no weight and he was sort of flying. He landed back on the ground after a few seconds. I couldn’t hide my excitement- Luke was now a Vampire with cool powers.

“Whoa dude, this is so cool” I said.

“Yeah. Bye!” He yelled and dashed through the woods with speed.

I frowned.

I couldn’t believe he just left me there in the woods all alone. I sighed loudly and started to find my way through the woods.
