C18 Now's Not The Time 

Lyi Jiaming leaned against his sofa, rubbing his forehead in frustration. "Go back to your room first," he snapped.

He didn't have the slightest intention of comforting her.

He couldn't care less that she was sad that her identity had been exposed or that Gu Yunfang had just scolded her.

In his heart, all he ever cared about was the reputation of the Lyi Family.

As Lyi Chuxi returned to her room, her heart was cold.

She slowly looked around.

The bright and summery room she held close to her heart was now dark and cool as if it was void of any warmth.

There was a small cradle in the corner of her room, carved just for her when she was younger. Oftentimes, Gu Yunfang would enter her room and tell her stories of the time she was young.

They were her parents. She had called them her parents.

And this place had been her home for nineteen years.

Now, it felt ironic.

Back then, she knew the truth. That's why she didn't ask them for anything else. All she wanted was to feel the warmth of their love one more time.

Yet, the more she craved that warmth, the more she was consumed by her own helplessness.

A part of her wanted to run over to the Sheng Family now and finally be embraced by the people who truly loved her.

But as she took a step forward, she knew that wasn't the right thing to do.

It still wasn't the right time.

After all, she had been raised so lovingly by the Lyi Family for nineteen years. They didn't know what had happened in her previous life, and what kind of cold treatment she had suffered from.

If she chose to acknowledge her true family now, then the Sheng Family would forever owe them a debt of gratitude. Lyi Jiaming, Gu Yunfang, and Lyi Yueyi would benefit from this.

In her previous life, not only had that woman made her infamous all over the Imperial Capital, but she even colluded with Liao Wenbai in stopping her from reuniting with her family.

They had done so many things to hurt her.

She couldn't let that happen again!

Lyi Chuxi took a deep breath, and her expression darkened.

Once she exposed the true face of the Lyi Family and cut off all relations with them, she'd reunite with the Sheng Family. Just they wait!

The next day, everyone was much calmer now.

As Lyi Yueyi and Lyi Chuxi finished their breakfast, they quickly hopped into the car and left.

"You know, I really admire your strength," Lyi Yueyi said as soon as they arrived at the campus. "You were horrendously scolded by Mom, yet you still acted as if nothing happened. Don't you feel the slightest bit guilty?"

"How could I feel guilty about a shameless person finally leveling up in the world?" She snorted. "The most I feel is a disappointment."

Lyi Yueli scowled.

"Who do you think is shameless? You're the shameless one!"

She raised her eyebrows.

Suddenly, a familiar voice echoed behind them.

"Xi, you're here!"

Lyi Chuxi turned to Liao Wenbai.

He had already changed to casual sportswear today given that his first subject was P.E. He appeared much more refreshed and handsome.

She was just about to greet him when she caught Lyi Yueyi shyly tugging the strands of her hair. Her bright eyes were boring straight at him.
