“Don’t go alone!” I whispered. I didn’t want him to get hurt.

“I won’t,” he said. He frowned, reaching up and touching my cheek.

“I promise.”

I relaxed, feeling relief wash over me. If he was going with guards then he would be safe. He would find her and then we wouldn’t have to worry anymore.
