C5 Tyler’s POV - Secretly Beautiful Bond
"What do you care? That’s none of your business. I'm no longer a member of your pack. I don't want to hear your nonsense. Never talk to me again!"
My steps halted as I heard the voice of a woman I loved not far from where I stood.
And after passing by a pillar of this auditorium building, I could see that the figure confronting her was Alpha Magnus!
"But, Sabrina, just listen ..." denied Magnus which was immediately cut off by Sabrina, “In my whole life, I always listen to you. I believe my duty has ended!”
My chest throbbed painfully hearing Sabrina's words with her trembling voice.
Unconsciously, my legs took a step forward, but I could then regain control of myself by thinking, “If I intervene now, wouldn't I appear selfish and as if I want to control Sabrina? Ah, I better let them settle their past first."
"I wish I had the ability to turn back time, Sabrina. I don't know what else I can prove to you that I still love you," Magnus pleaded.
I gripped the edge of a plate of tapas containing several cubes of cheese, cured chorizo, and a few olives, as I stood frozen behind the pillar. Some of the tapas almost slipped from the plate's surface as I trembled, trying to contain my turbulent emotions. How could I not, as I couldn't bear to listen to the arguments between the woman I loved, and the man from her past?
"Oh Moon Goddess, thank you for never bestowing the superpower to turn back time on anyone, even the descendant of an Alpha. This way, every person can continue to move forward with their lives. So should I, and so should you," Sabrina asserted firmly.
My blood surged as I listened to Sabrina. I was amazed by her. I believed in how much pain she must feel from the Alpha's misbehaviour, who should have been her husband. However, I never expected that she could face Magnus with such resilience.
I became confident that it’s time for me to approach them.
”Hey, what’s up, guys? Good evening, our beloved groom tonight. Congratulations on your wedding, Magnus!”
I quickly shook hands with the Alpha of Black Fur Pack, who greeted me with a surprised expression, and then he smiled faintly.
"Thank you," replied Magnus briefly.
"Oh, by the way, look at Tania standing there all alone! Shouldn't you go back to accompany her?" I suggested, subtly hinting at his departure.
After saying that, I grabbed Sabrina's waist, so she stand closer to my side. I saw Magnus briefly widen his eyes reacted to what I just did. Then, he looked to another direction while clearing his throat uncomfortably.
Magnus's face turned crimson as he spoke with an awkward grin, “Maybe, you're right. Okay, thank you for coming and chatting with me. Allow me to return to the midst of the party. See you!"
"Please, and goodbye," I replied, bowing my head and smiling at him.
A few seconds later, Sabrina and I just stared at Magnus's back until he disappeared into the midst of the party crowd.
I heard Sabrina exhale as if relieved after the recent tension. I glanced at her face. My heart clenched.
There was a teardrop in the corner of her eye. As she caught me staring, Sabrina turned her face to the other side of her body, seemingly wiping her tears away discreetly.
Damn, that Alpha of the Black Fur pack! How dare he make a woman as beautiful as her hurt and cry.
If it weren't for my respect for Sabrina, I would have disrupted this party to avenge my beloved's pain.
Suddenly, someone touched my left shoulder. "Do you still want to be at this party?" Sabrina asked with her soft voice.
I turned and looked at her beautiful face; she seemed much better. I was sure she could also feel what I felt. My chest warming as I smiled at her. I felt complete and fine if she was fine too.
My head automatically shook, then I said, "Come on, let's just leave!"
Sabrina agreed, and I took her hand, intertwining it with my arm. The two of us walked out of the building.
However, not far from the exit, Sabrina stopped in her tracks.
The beautiful woman's forehead furrowed, then she asked, "Don't you need to gather or bid farewell to the Alphas from our pack alliance?"
Right, I hadn't thought about that. If I were with Sabrina, I feel like there's nothing else to think about besides her, even my own interests seem less important.
"Oh, yes, you're right, Honey. But, if we look inside the wedding venue, they seem to be busy enjoying tonight's celebration, so they won't even notice my presence. We can just take a walk and enjoy the fresh air, then later I'll return to the guest house where the Alphas gather after the party," I explained, adding an excuse to continue being with my beloved only.
Sabrina laughed briefly while tightening her grip and resting her head on my shoulder. "In that case, let me take you to see my favourite places!" she invited with a big beautiful smile.
We both knew that we would do anything to enjoy time alone together. And I enthusiastically replied, "Let's go!"
"Look at that place!" Sabrina pointed to a pavilion situated on a higher ground than its surroundings.
Before I could say anything, the brunette-haired girl already pulled me by the hand to run towards the pavilion.
Once we reached there, her face lit up with a grin as she caught her breath, saying, "Phew, forgive me, I dragged you into a little run."
"No, I should be the one apologizing to you for forgetting to remind you to take off your high heels before running here. Are your ankles okay?" I responded, expressing concern.
Sabrina just shook her head while smiling, then disregarded her own condition as if impatiently let me know about this place. She said, "Look around this place! You'll understand why it's my favourite!"
I complied and looked around, then amazed at how beautiful this place was. The soft moonlight reflected on the surface of the river below, yet looked beautifully sparkling.
"The river...?" I asked, immediately answered by Sabrina, "Yes, that's the river where all the members of the Black Fur pack mine gold. You can't imagine how valuable that water flow is."
I nodded in understanding.
"Then, at the end there is my cottage. I was born and raised there. You can see the garden around it, which is my mother's legacy," Sabrina continued her explanation.
I followed where Sabrina pointed. Then, she lowered her finger and faced me before I could ask about other places.
It felt like I already knew the answer and didn't need to discuss it further with Sabrina. In the opposite direction from her house, a luxurious mansion stood on a hill, which I could already guess was the residence of the Black Fur’s Alpha.
I can understand why this was her favorite place, as she could see other places that were also her favorites. Including the house of her ex-boyfriend, that damn Magnus.
As if she could read my mind - or maybe she really could read it because we are bound as Fate Mate - Sabrina held both of my hands and said, "This place has always been my precious place, and I hope it will be your precious place too."
How could I tarnish those sincere words with my childish jealousy about her past?
Without further thought, I planted a kiss on her lush, parted lips.
Sabrina was momentarily surprised, but then she responded to my kiss while still holding both of my hands.
Our heartbeats echoed like fireworks exploding behind our heads. This feeling was so beautiful, and I wanted to cherish it forever.
I pulled away from the kiss gently while looking into her shining brown eyes bathed in moonlight. Beautiful, she was the most beautiful thing that came into my life.
"But should I tell her my secret?" my thoughts suddenly disturbed me.
