C2 Ava's Discovery
The southern part of A country the region has mountains and dense forests. The old man Matthew Yates is a herbalist who loves to grow herbs. He was a traditional doctor who retired and came to the south to settle down and grow herbs because of his love for herbs. Having spent most of his time exploring, he didn't get married.
Matthew always goes trekking in the hills, looking for herbs with his helper Neal. One day, while exploring the mountain range for herbs, Matthew stumbled upon her unconscious kid's body while foraging in the nearby forest. She looked like a 3-year-old kid badly hurt and barely conscious, and Matthew knew he had to act quickly to save her. He did first-aid immediately and carried her back.
Matthew admitted her to Hospital and informed the police about her. He knew he couldn't simply turn her over to the authorities and forget about her. He took her to the Hospital, where the doctors confirmed that she was malnourished and dehydrated but otherwise healthy.
As Matthew sat by her bedside, he couldn't help but wonder about her past. Who were her parents? How had she ended up on his doorstep? He searched for any information that could help him find her family, but there was nothing. No missing person report matched her description, and the police could not track down any leads.
As the days turned into weeks and the weeks turned into months, Matthew realized that he had grown attached to the little girl. He had no immediate family and was drawn to her sweet personality and infectious laughter. He knew he couldn't bear to part with her, so he adopted her as his granddaughter.
As Ava recovered from her ordeal, she grew close to Matthew, finding comfort and safety in his presence. She wore a pendant made of blue jade around her neck with her name, "AVA," carved into the back, and it became a symbol of the love and protection Matthew had given her.
Despite the mystery of her past, Ava thrived under Matthew's care. She grew into a bright, curious child who loved learning and exploring the world around her. Matthew continued to share his knowledge of herbs and plants with her, and she soaked up every bit of information he gave her.
Ava looked up at Matthew with adoration as they sat in the garden together. "Grandpa, I'm so glad you found me," she would say. "I love you."
And Matthew would wrap his arms around her, feeling grateful and blessed to have this precious little girl in his life.
