C6 A New Beginning at Blackman University
Ava was excited when she received her acceptance letter from Blackman University in the capital city. She had been accepted into the university's dual degree program, allowing her to study medicine and the arts.
As much as she was looking forward to this new adventure, Ava couldn't help feeling a twinge of sadness as she said goodbye to her beloved grandpa Matthew. He had been her rock for so long, and the thought of leaving him behind was bittersweet.
"Don't worry about me, dear," he told her, squeezing her hand. "I'll be just fine here. And I know you'll do great things at your fancy university."
Ava smiled through her tears, grateful for her grandpa's unwavering support.
When she arrived at Blackman University, Ava was overwhelmed by the size and grandeur of the campus. She felt like a small fish in a big pond as she went to the admissions office to complete her registration.
Luckily, a sweet senior student noticed her confusion and offered to show her around the university. Her name was Emily, and she was studying art and design.
"Welcome to Blackman!" Emily exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear. "I remember how overwhelming it was for me when I first arrived, so I'm happy to help you."
Ava felt a sense of relief wash over her as Emily took her under her wing. Blackman University was one of the most prestigious universities in the country, known for its academic rigour and cutting-edge facilities. The campus was sprawling and well-maintained, with modern buildings and state-of-the-art equipment.
As Ava walked around the campus with Emily, she couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the sheer size of the place. There were classrooms and lecture halls everywhere, as well as labs and research facilities for every field imaginable.
Emily showed her around the science building, where Ava would spend most of her time. The labs were spacious and well-equipped, with the latest technology and equipment for students to use. There were also research spaces for professors and graduate students to conduct experiments and work on ground-breaking projects.
The university also boasted a massive library, with stacks of books and journals covering every subject under the sun. Ava knew she would spend much time here, pouring over textbooks and articles to prepare for her classes.
But it was only some work and no play at Blackman University. The campus also had many recreational facilities, including a gym, swimming pool, and movie theater. There were also numerous student organizations and clubs for Ava to get involved in, from the science club to the French language club.
Emily told Ava about some of the university's traditions and quirks as they walked around. Emily pointed out the statue of the school's founder in the centre of campus and the habit of throwing a coin into the fountain for good luck. She also warned her about the infamous "Freshman 15," the phenomenon of gaining weight in the first year of college due to the abundance of delicious and tempting food options on campus.
Ava knew the road ahead would be challenging, but she was eager to take on the challenge and make the most of her time at Blackman University. And Emily dropped her at the dormitory.
