Asher was with his father again on one of those compulsory weekly visits he'd set aside for him, wishing he was anywhere but there, yet again.

The old man's condition was worsening, and with it came his incessant demand that Asher have a son. The man was nothing but a pest, Asher thought, staring at the machine that kept his father alive.
