Alex Foster decided to check on Ella when he called her. Ella was still with her mother when his call came through.

Why was he calling her?

Ella silenced her phone and refused to answer her call. Sarah saw that her daughter had refused to answer her phone and hence urged her to answer her phone, it might be an emergency.
