C8 BROOKLYN ACADEMY

"Dad, how was it?" Angie asked as she went to welcome her Dad.

"You've been accepted!" Mr Thompson announced and flashed a smile.

She stood up and hugged her Dad. "Finally, I am not going to spend most of my time at home again."

"You'll be the one to register yourself. I will have to enrol Dennis in his school also."

"Dad?" She muttered, displeased.

"Please, for your brother's sake." He pleaded.

"I don't even know how to get to the school". She said worriedly.

"Make use of the Google map Angie," He said and went upstairs, leaving her to think about how she was going to face life at her new school.

She growled at the thought that she needs to start getting used to another environment and school life. She was not ready to start meeting new friends and getting used to them.

Throughout the evening her mind was not settled until she found her way to bed.

The next morning, Angie woke up to the sound of her alarm ringing. She was used to it so she didn't bother. She made her way to the washroom to clean up herself and prepare for school.

The name of her school was the first to get her attention as she drove into the building. It was boldly written at the front gate, 'Brooklyn Academy

Brooklyn Academy was one of the biggest schools in New York City. It's the combination of both high school and college also with boarding houses. The building is large and beautifully decorated, painted purple and white. Students far away from Brooklyn also attend this school.

It has a very good educational background which the students fell in love with. Only the First class, noble, or students on scholarship get to attend such school. Since it consists of both college and high school, a hall divided the two. The hall is used when there are important occasions, special programs such as competitions, and so on. In front of the hall are a football field, basketball court, and so many game sports.

As she got out of her car, she saw students trooping in and out. She let go of her fear and entered the school building.

On getting inside she realized that she hadn't enrolled herself and became nervous. She had no idea where the office was for registration and was scared to ask to avoid embarrassment.

Just immediately, she heard a soft tap on her left-hand shoulder. She shook with fear and turned to see a pretty girl beaming at her.

"Oh, wow!" Angie thought as she admired the girl. The girl was tall, slim, and pretty. She has a mole at the top of her nose which made her look more adorable.

"Lost in your thoughts?" The pretty girl asked with her tiny voice as she caught Angie moving slower than the other students, "What's wrong?" The pretty girl asked when she discovered how nervous Angie was.

"I'm_I_ I can't seem to find the registration office," Angie complained shyly.

With a surprised expression, the girl asked, " Are you new here?"

"Yes," Angie replied, rubbing her fingers against each other.

"I see. So you are a new student. Turn left when you get up to the first floor, there you will see the registration office. It's also boldly written on the wall above the door." The girl directed, pointing at the first stairs, "Sorry I can't go with you, I'm late for class." She also added.

"Thanks for your help." Angie appreciated as the girl walked away.

As he walked into the school hall, students moved away to give way to him. Some begin to whisper to themselves.

"The great Maths is in school today." Someone mumbled, "I heard he did not attend school throughout the last week." He disclosed it to the other person beside him.

"Very soon he will be called into the disciplinary office."

Indeed, he was called for because as soon as he settled on his seat in class level 1 of science and technology, the HOC of his class told him he was needed in the disciplinary office.

He got up almost immediately since he already knew it was coming. At least this is not the first time it's going to happen or rather the last time.

"Mr Albert, did you inform your dad about not attending class throughout last week?" Mr Brown, the head teacher, asked with a hoarse voice.

He has called his school mentor too who sat and watch patiently as the head teacher was questioning him.

Mr Anderson was known as a Maths school mentor. Nobody knew how they got close but was sure that Mr Anderson tried a lot to get to that position or still, they had something together.

"I'm talking to you Mr Albert," Mr Brown said, pissed off by the long silence.

Yet, the long silence took over again because Maths wouldn't utter a word.

"Sorry for the inappropriate act of Mathias sir, I promise it will never happen again". Mr Anderson finally got his voice.

"Yes!" Mr Brown shuddered and gave a thunderous devil laugh, "It won't happen again of course if it does happen, I guess you'll have to take full responsibility for whatsoever you've got to face in the head office!" Mr Brown relayed angrily as he was losing his temper, "And you," he turned to Matthias, "Cat got your tongue that you wouldn't give answers to my questions?!" He shot at him.

Frustration and anger grew in him as Maths still didn't utter a word. He swerved towards the door to leave, "Keep up with your manners." He uttered, before walking out, slamming the door behind him.

"I don't care." Math's haggard voice came out as Mr Anderson tried to talk to him.

"I warned you many times. Don't cause issues for yourself." Mr Anderson bellowed angrily.

"What has that got to do with you?" He taunted, stood up, and left. He was not in the mood to hear any counselling. Whatever he got himself in has nothing to do with anyone so they should all leave him alone. It's not like he was going to school because he needed to.
