C13 Flying Calamity!

"Moo Yuhan, what are you doing here? Are you here to laugh at me? Well, let me tell you, I'm not dying anytime soon. I'm doing just fine." Moo Jiaojiao snorted, turned her head away, and glared at Moo Yuhan with such intensity, it was as if she wanted to devour her whole.

"Your health is in terrible condition. You need to make a decision. Here's the surgery contract. Once you've made up your mind, find a doctor to perform the surgery." Moo Yuhan didn't want to get into a prolonged argument. Since Moo Jiaojiao had come to her clinic, she had to fulfill her duty as a doctor, even though she didn't want to stay a second longer than necessary.

"Ha! You just can't stand that I'm doing well, can you? Because you can't get Xuan Nan's affection, you want to destroy the only bond between us with these underhanded tactics. You vile woman, just wait. One day, I'll make sure you have nothing left." Moo Jiaojiao's face twisted with rage, as if the person sitting in front of her wasn't her half-sister, but a sworn enemy.

"Believe what you want. In the end, I'm not the one who's going to die." Moo Yuhan tossed the surgery contract onto the table and walked out of the hospital without looking back, ignoring the calls behind her. In the past, she might have been heartbroken by such words, but after everything she's been through, she's grown indifferent—or perhaps her once passionate heart has been numbed by reality.

Besides, too much had happened recently, and after performing surgeries through the night, her body was exhausted. All Moo Yuhan wanted was to go home and get some much-needed rest.

"Knock, knock, knock—"

"Come in."

Seeing it was her aunt, Moo Yuhan furrowed her brows. Her aunt never came without a reason, and after overhearing her conversation with the old lady at the An family yesterday, Moo Yuhan found it hard to trust the gentle and kind facade her aunt presented.

"What's wrong? Are you not happy to see me? You seemed in such a rush yesterday, I bet you didn't eat well."

"Auntie asked me to bring this for you. Give it a try," said Aunt, opening a box filled with an assortment of pastries and sweets, each adorned with delicate lace-like decorations, looking incredibly tempting.

Unable to refuse, Moo Yuhan pretended to take an interest, picking up a piece gently before closing the lid. "Well, I guess I'll have a little."

Seeing Moo Yuhan take big bites, Aunt finally relaxed, glancing subtly at her watch. "It's getting late, and those dark circles under your eyes tell me you worked a night shift. I'm heading back soon, do you want a ride?"

"No need, I have my car. I'll drive myself back, no trouble at all," Moo Yuhan replied, opening a drawer to grab her car keys with a smile.

Considering how quickly they acted, they must have planned everything thoroughly, just waiting for her to take the bait. Escaping unscathed might not be easy, so Moo Yuhan had to stay cautious.

"Don't worry about being a bother. We're family now."

If Moo Yuhan didn't know the true nature of the woman in front of her, she might have been moved to tears by now.

Moo Yuhan stood up, slipped the car keys into her bag, and after a moment, suddenly felt weak, collapsing against the wall, her eyes half-open in a daze.
