“Good morning, Mr. Jermaine,” his secretary greets him.

“Good morning,” he replies, not taking his eyes off mine. “I’d like to introduce you all to my wife, Winona.”

I feel like I’m standing in front of a firing squad as he announces my title to the entire staff.

My mind reels as he addresses me as such, because I never once said it was official.

Yet here I am, being introduced as his wife
