Five Days Later

I packed the last of the things that I was taking to college back in New York.

"Everything ready, Princess?" Dad asked as he entered my room and I nodded my head in reply.

"Did you cross-check everything?" I again nodded except that I wasn't honest.

And by the way, he narrowed his eyes on me, I knew he knew that.

"Let's cross-check it for you then
