C2 Two

" that's how it all happened. You should have seen her face after I threw the torn paper on her. It was priceless " jafar laughed at what Sadiq told him. Sadiq summarized all that happened today at work to Jafar most especially the rich girl he came encountered with. He just couldn't hold it in that he had to gist his friend, Jafar.

They both were seated in their self contained apartment which they rented. The two were best friends since from secondary school and due to the fact that they were still jobless they had to join money to secure this little apartment which thay live in.

" she needs to be thought a lesson. She is way too rude for her own good" sadiq shakes his head in disgust.

Jafar settled himself on the queen size bed they share, he was going through some books and also listening to what sadiq was telling him " I wish I was there to see her reaction. But nevertheless whose daughter do you think she is? "

Sadiq shrugged " I really don't know"

Jafar sniggered " who would have thought that the two of you would meet twice a day. I call that fate.Who knows, maybe you two might end up together "

" God forbid, I reject it. I can never be with someone as rude and spoilt as that thing. Anyways, how did your day go? "

" same as usual, still jobless. All the places I went to, they all said the same thing and I'm already sick and tired wallahi. I don't want to die doing this mechanic work, we need to act fast and not to watch our lives being wasted away just like that" jafar said sadly

" moreover, you still have more chances than I do, don't let your pride overrule you. Just do what your old man request you to do"

Sadiq was already getting pissed off at what jafar said " don't go there right now,I don't need his help. For all I care he can rot in hell. Please don't ever bring this topic ever again" he stood up from the chair he was sat and took one of the folder towel laying on the chair.

" I'm so......

Sadiq angrily entered the bathroom before jafar could apologize. Jafar shrugged and continued reviewing the book in his hand. I will apologize later, thought jafar.

He is in the shower thinking of what jafar said. Should I accept my father's offer as jafar had said?.Am I too prideful for my own good?. If I should go back home won't my father and brother make fun of me after our last arguments. Ya Allah see me through, why are things hard for me, please forgive me for all the sins I've committed, please ya Allah.

***

"arhhhhhhhhhh, I hate him " Rahama screamed in her pillow. How dare him, how dare that good for nothing mechanic man disgrace me like that in front of people. I hate him so much.

She was busy thinking of how to plan the mechanic's death that she didn't know when her door was opened. Yasirah, stood by the door as she watch her step daughter using pencil to hit the pillow .what is wrong with her this time, she thought.

She isn't sure whether to interfere or just walk out of the room. But she remembers what her husband had said, he once told her to please work things out with his daughter even if she had to try harder. He was tired of seeing his wife and daughter avoiding each other like a plague .

Yasirah sighed and recite a little prayer for what she was about to do. She knew how Rahama could be a little dramatic or should she say, rude. That girl is too overly pampered for her own good, any man who gets to marry her has a lot of working to do.

She cleared her throat to gain Rahama's attention but it was still in vain because the girl was already killing the pillow. Who might have annoyed her this time?

Yasirah ,closed the door with a bang and that got Rahama's attention. She quickly fling the pillow and turn towards the door.

" what do you want? " she rudely asked when she saw her step mother or her father's wife as she prefers to call her.

" I heard a scream so I thought to come check on you. Are you alright ?"

Rahama glares at her " did I call for your help? What is it you don't understand that I don't like you. Leave me alone and don't try to act like my mother because you're nothing close to her"

Already used to this behavior, Yasirah still walks towards the bed rahama was sat. It is now or never, I need to be patient with her, yasirah had thought.

" where do you think you want to sit ? Please get out of my room right now? " shouted Rahama

The nerve of this woman, thought Rahama

Her father's wife shrugged and sat on the bed not heeding to her request " the truth is, I'm not leaving this room not until you tell me what is wrong with you" she folded her arms waiting for rahama to talk.

This got rahama rile up so she got down the bed and walk towards the door. She held the door open " I said you should get out"

" and I said I'm not going anywhere. It's either you talk or I will sleep here"

See this woman o, na by force?

Both not wanting to give up on what they want, Rahama stood her ground that her father's wife must leave while yasirah also stood her ground that rahama must talk. This is hell.

None of them said anything for a while but alas one of them gave up. It was rahama who actually gave up.

" fine then, you can stay all you want" with that, she close the door and went to sit on the couch. She brought out her phone and busied herself with it with a pout. Yasirah silently snickered and went to seat on the couch close to rahama.

" I know you don't like me and I really don't know what you want me to do but that aside. At least Let's freeze our hatred for just some few minutes. Let's discuss what is actually bordering you like how friends do. Let me be that friend you need even if it for a few minutes.

Rahama thought about it, she hates the fact that she really needed a friend right now. All her friends aren't the understanding type all they do is make fun of her when she discuss her problem with them. The only friend she could trust left her all because of her childish act. Sakinah was the only friend who always told Rahama the truth but unfortunate for them, they ended their friendship due to some arguments they had.

She sighed and scrutinized Yasirah with her eyes, should I tell her, she was having internal battle whether to tell her or not. Nevertheless she gave up and told her all that had happened.

FLASHBACK

"you?"

" the spoilt brat? "

We shouted in surprise at the same time.

Rahama stood tall acting like M. S presence isn't affecting her. But deep down her mind she was actually scared. He folded his hand over his chest, with a smirk that makes him look more handsome

How can one act like a devil and also look good at the same time? ....she thought

" what is the young lady doing in my territory, don't tell me you came to insult me again princess"

" Don't call me that" she said in a firm voice.

He move closer and looks at her directly in the eyes.

" what if I don't, what will you do. Will you slap me again and run off to tell daddy"

She felt so uneasy with his closeness, so she move to the other side.

" where is my car? " she asked instead after remembering what actually brought her to the mechanic's shop.

" which car are you talking about?" a confused M. S asked

" The one my driver brought for you in the morning or you want to tell me you didn't receive a car from someone named Garba . Well, we all know that people like you can do and undo "

" why are you always this bitter to people like me. Why can't you talk in a civilized way" he glared at her.

She didn't answer him instead she eyes him up and down then stretched out her hands for her car keys.

" My car keys"

He didn't answer , he only look at her like he was trying to understand something about her. Rahama feels uneasy with the way he was scrutinizing her.

" hello, is someone there" she decided to bring back his attention by wave at his face . He came out of his thoughts and hand her car keys to her without uttering any word.

" aren't you surprised that fate made us meet twice the same day" he cockily let out and She scowled at him

" stop saying rubbish and tell me how much is my bill" she brought out her cheque book from her hand bag.

" Never mind, let it be a treat from me to you" he doesn't know what was stopping him from collecting the money when he actually needs it.

" you better take the money because I don't give a damn how much I spend, you also look like you need the money. At least buy something good to wear not this rag you call cloth" she pointed and then wrote down a cheque of hundred thousand Naira and hand it to him. He didn't collect it instead, he was looking at her in shock because of what she said to him. She insulted his clothing ,how dare her.

Rahama then drop the cheque on the stool she sat on before, since he refused to collect it and then turn to leave.

" young lady" a angry M. S called out in an angry voice while rahama turn to answer him with questioning eyes.

He took the cheque and walk up straight to her. He tore the cheque into pieces and then threw all the torn piece of paper at her. She was shocked beyond belief that this crazy man here, who she wrote a cheque note of hundred thousand naira dares to tore it and threw the pieces at her?

He is crazy. She felt so insulted especially now that people where watching them. Some where pointing at her and making fun of her.

" Next time try to act and speak nicely to people, if not you're going to regret it all your life" she stood agape

She was seething " you stupid man " she went forward to slap him for the second time today but he had a quick reflex this time, he held her hand quickly before it meet his face.

" Don't ever raise your hand on me ever again. If not I'm going to break this hands of yours" she swallowed and drew her hand back

She glares at him and he did same. Rahama hissed and turn to walk to her car full of disgrace. I hate that man. She has never hated anyone as she hate this particular man.

END OF FLASHBACK

" wow, this is actually serious" a baffled yasirah said.

Rahama got angry at this " is that the only thing you could say?"

Yasirah noticed her anger " no, I'm just processing what you've just told me. But for me I think you were at fault, you shouldn't have insulted him. You were quick to judge, had it been you come off nicely the man would have apologized. He was also wrong by tearing the cheque and throwing it on you." she added the last statement, just to make rahama happy.

Truth be told, rahama was at fault in general, she was way too rude and a spoilt brat. She wish she was there to see rahama's reaction when the poor man tore the paper and threw it at her. Yasirah internally laughed.

If rahama wasn't picking on her nails she would have catch on that yasirah was laughing at her. She was busy sad at the fact that no one supports her even her dad scolded her. Now, yasirah even sound like her once best friend, sakeenah.

They all make me sick
