chapter 12. Cockroach

Qin Zhengbei looked at Tang Miaoyu, who was fleeing for her life, and a smile appeared on his face. Qin Zhengbei felt that Qin Zhengnan had a good eye. Qin Zhengnan actually caught up to such a cute Tang Miaoyu.

Qin Zhengnan heard Tang Miaoyu running over. Qin Zhengnan, who was chatting with the old man, turned around and asked, "Miaoyu, what happened? Why are you running so fast?"

Qin Zhengnan's low and gentle voice calmed Tang Miaoyu down. She stopped and smiled apologetically at the old man. Tang Miaoyu slowly walked towards Qin Zhengnan and said, "I saw a cockroach and was scared."

The old man laughed loudly and said, "Zhengnan just told me you could lift the sofa. Why are you afraid of cockroaches?"

Tang Miaoyu's pretty face suddenly turned red.

Qin Zhengnan grabbed Tang Miaoyu's wrist and said, "Miaoyu, grandpa prepared some gifts for us and asked me to bring you to Tang family. After all, you are going to live here. I have to tell your parents."

"Now?" Tang Miaoyu was slightly stunned.

"Yes, I will help you pack your things. Then, we will go directly to my place to stay."

"Okay" Tang Miaoyu could only nod her head.

Xue Zhupei looked at the pile of gifts on the table and her astute eyes showed unconcealed greed. Xue Zhupei picked up the gifts and looked at the brand and shelf life. Xue Zhupei said, "Son-in-law, you don't need to bring so many gifts."

"This is the first time I officially pay a visit to you guys. This is what I should do." Qin Zhengnan's voice was as calm as his face.

Tang Miaoyu saw Xue Zhupei treating Qin Zhengnan like a complete fool and Tang Miaoyu asked Xue Zhupei, "Mom, where is my dad and Miaoxue?"

"I don't know where Miaoxue went to play. Your dad heard that you and Zhengnan got a marriage certificate, so he was relieved. He went to the factory!"

When Xue Zhupei said that, she put down the gift box in her hand. Xue Zhupei winked at Tang Miaoyu and Xue Zhupei said, "It's not like you don't know. That paper factory of ours is not easy to do business!"

Tang Miaoyu did not know what Xue Zhupei was trying to say at the beginning but Tang Miaoyu quickly understood. Tang Miaoyu coldly curled her lips and ignored Xue Zhupei.

Tang Miaoyu said to Qin Zhengnan, "Zhengnan, you sit for a while. I will take a few clothes and we will leave." Tang Miaoyu then went upstairs to her room.

Xue Zhupei was so angry that she gritted her teeth. But because Qin Zhengnan was there, Xue Zhupei did not have the nerve to scold Tang Miaoyu.

Xue Zhupei thought that if Tang Miaoyu casually complained in front of Qin Zhengnan, perhaps the Qin family would sponsor the Tang family's factory!

But Tang Miaoyu pretended not to understand Xue Zhupei's words.

Tang Miaoyu originally planned to never return to this house again, but since she came back, she went into the house and symbolic tidied up two sets of clothes.

Tang Miaoyu was just about to carry her suitcase out when Xue Zhupei came in and stopped Tang Miaoyu. Xue Zhupei conveniently closed the door.

"Miaoyu, are you planning to leave like this?" Xue Zhupei crossed her arms and asked unhappily.

Tang Miaoyu's eyebrows knitted and the corner of her mouth revealed a sad smile. She said, "Mom, you are the one who let me marry Qin Zhengnan. Did you go back on your word again?"

"Of course I won't go back on my word!" Xue Zhupei took a step forward and suddenly changed to a smiling face and looked at Tang Miaoyu. She said, "But Miaoyu, I worked hard to raise you and you just leave like this?"

Tang Miaoyu unconsciously took a step back and looked at Xue Zhupei who was smiling strangely in front of her. Tang Miaoyu asked, "What do you mean?"

Xue Zhupei saw Tang Miaoyu's guarded look and Xue Zhupei directly stretched out her hand. Xue Zhupei said, "More than 20 years ago, I adopted you from the welfare institute and gave you food and clothes for you to wear for school. Now, I married you to a wealthy family. Shouldn't you repay me?"

Tang Miaoyu suddenly smiled and Tang Miaoyu said, "I should repay you."

After Tang Miaoyu finished speaking, she took out her wallet from her small bag and Tang Miaoyu took out her wage card and passed it to Xue Zhupei. Tang Miaoyu said, "This is the money that I have saved since I started working. It is more than thirty thousand. Although it is not much, I have all my savings. The password is your and my dad's birthday."

Xue Zhupei looked at the card in Tang Miaoyu's hand with disdain. Xue Zhupei said, "You want to deal with me with thirty thousand yuan?"

"You don't want it, I only have this much!" Tang Miaoyu did not want to say more to Xue Zhupei so Tang Miaoyu kept the card and prepared to leave.

Xue Zhupei smiled and opened the drawer of the cabinet beside her. She took out pen and paper and handed it to Tang Miaoyu. Xue Zhupei said, "Write me an IOU before leaving."

"Why?" Tang Miaoyu was stunned.

Xue Zhupei sneered, "Tang Miaoyu, I spent a lot of money to raise you. I raised you so well, shouldn't you pay me for raising you?"
