C15 The Man Who Married Her Second
The room was bathed in bright light.
A man stood by the bed, clad in a white bathrobe, his stature tall and erect, his short black hair damp and tousled. His features were so strikingly handsome they took one's breath away.
"Who are you?" Ye Jianjia's voice was edged with panic as she confronted the unexpected man in her room. Snatching up a pillow, she hurled it at him. "I don't care who you are, just get out of my room now!"
He caught the pillow effortlessly, giving her a frowning glance before tossing it back onto the bed and advancing with a long stride.
Ye Jianjia scrambled to get off the bed, but he was quicker, blocking her path. He leaned over, his long arms encircling her, trapping her against him. His lips quirked in a cool, mocking smile. "Woman, take a good look and see whose room this actually is."
Ah?
Confusion clouded Ye Jianjia's mind as she glanced around. The room, though spacious and luxurious, was not hers...
"I'm sorry, I... I must have entered the wrong room!" she stammered, trying to escape, but the man stood immovable, keeping her firmly in his grasp. She glared at him, frustration creasing her brow. "Let go of me!"
Instead of releasing her, he drew even closer.
His face was inches from hers, his skin pale, his features sharp and well-defined, radiating an extraordinary charm. He possessed a unique beauty, alluring and slightly androgynous, a veritable masterpiece of creation, especially his long, narrow phoenix eyes, which were incredibly sensual.
Ye Jianjia thought that her infatuated Fourth would be dazzled by such a level of stunning beauty—only a man like this could truly be called heartbreakingly handsome!
But no matter how attractive he was, that didn't give him the right to act like a rogue!
Trapped in his embrace, any movement brought the risk of contact. Ye Jianjia bit her lip and played her ace, "Do you know who I am?!"
He regarded her with a slight squint of his eyes, a ripple of amusement passing through them as he half-smiled, "Oh, and who might you be?"
With a defiant tilt of her chin, she declared, "I am Mu Tingsu's new bride!"
Given that he resided here, he surely knew Mu Tingsu. This was Mu Tingsu's domain, and as his wife, she was the lady of the house.
Would he dare to make advances on the lady of the house?
"Mu Tingsu's... wife?" His voice was hushed, his tone deliberate, as if he savored the words "wife" on the tip of his tongue before speaking them. Just when Ye Jianjia expected him to show some restraint, he scoffed, "So it's you who married that waste of space!"
Waste of space?
Ye Jianjia's eyebrows knit together in displeasure. "Who are you calling a waste of space?"
"What's the matter, can't admit you married a loser?" The man's expression was one of cold detachment.
Ye Jianjia retorted angrily, "You're the loser!"
This man was truly despicable, staying in someone else's home while spitefully bad-mouthing the host as a loser.
His gaze intensified, locking onto her. "Why are you upset about Mu Tingsu? He's been in a vegetative state for years, and it's common knowledge there's no hope of him waking up. What woman would willingly marry him? You must have had no other choice. I bet you can't even recall what he looks like, can you? If that's the case, why bother defending him so fiercely?"
Indeed, Ye Jianjia couldn't recall Mu Tingsu's features. She had only seen him briefly; he was lying in bed, his face pallid and sickly. She couldn't remember the details of his face, but she did recall he was rather handsome.
"No matter my reasons for marrying him, it was my decision," Ye Jianjia asserted, recalling her promise to Ouyang Zhi. "As long as I am Mrs. Mu, Mu Tingsu is my husband!"
"Husband?" The man let out a low chuckle, a mischievous edge to his icy laugh. "A husband who's immobile? You married him out of coercion or for money. Unlike Mu Tingsu, I can offer you not just money, but also happiness... Why not leave him for me?"
