C17 The Man Who Married Her First

At three o'clock in the afternoon the following day, Ye Jianjia descended the stairs, receiving respectful greetings from the servants as she exited her room. "Good afternoon, Young Madam."

Ouyang Zhi approached her in the foyer, giving her a once-over before inquiring, "Are you heading out, Young Madam?"

"Yes, I'm off to meet a client," she replied.

Ouyang Zhi nodded courteously. "There's no need to inform me of your plans, Young Madam. I merely wished to ask what you would like for dinner."

After a moment's thought, Ye Jianjia responded, "Thank you, but I plan to dine out this evening."

As she turned to leave, Ouyang Zhi interjected, "Young Madam, please wait a moment."

"What else is there?" she asked.

"Please, come with me."

Though puzzled, Ye Jianjia followed him. Outside the garage stood a stunning blue Lamborghini. Ouyang Zhi handed her a set of keys and said, "As Mu Tingsu's wife, it's only fitting that you have a suitable vehicle. If this car doesn't meet your expectations, feel free to select another at your convenience."

Ye Jianjia was dumbfounded. Was this a two-for-one deal? Marry into a wealthy family and receive a top-tier luxury car as a bonus?

"That's quite enough, this one will do!" she exclaimed.

Even after a considerable amount of time had passed, the whole experience felt surreal to Ye Jianjia, leaving her head in the clouds. Despite her husband's vegetative state, his staff seemed remarkably considerate!

Driving her impressive new car, she arrived at the venue arranged for her client meeting. As she entered the private room, her phone rang. It was Yang Lu, her persistent client. She had only just managed to persuade her to meet for a direct discussion that day. Eagerly, she answered, "Ms. Yang, hello, I've arrived."

However, Yang Lu replied, "I've had an emergency and can't make it. I've sent a friend in my stead. Her decisions will represent my own."

Ye Jianjia's brow furrowed. She was passionate about jewelry design and had the patience for it, but she had never encountered such an obstinate client before.

Truthfully, she wanted to tell her that if she wasn't interested, she could take a hike.

But while her temperament was rich, reality was unforgiving.

Ye Chongyun was willing to sign the contract, but it came with a stipulation: she wouldn't receive the 50 million yuan until two years later. Moreover, with six little kiddos at home—practically half a soccer team—there would be plenty of expenses in the future.

As a mother, she had to be strong. To earn money for her family, she had no choice but to tackle the challenges head-on.

After nearly an hour of waiting, the private room's door finally swung open.

Ye Jianjia stood up, and upon seeing the newcomer, her eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Why is it you?"

Dressed in a long, goose-yellow gown and clutching a small white handbag, Ye Qingyun exuded luxury from head to toe. She entered the room and took a seat. "Sister, bet you didn't see this coming?"

"Indeed, I didn't."

"Ms. Yang was actually someone I suggested to Noli for you," Ye Qingyun said as she set her handbag on the tea table, a smug smile on her face. "You didn't expect that, did you? Even if you inherit the estate and marry into the Mu family, you won't live even a fraction of the life I lead."

"What I didn't expect was for you to refer a client to me. I really appreciate it," Ye Jianjia responded, her smile unwavering.

Ye Qingyun was taken aback. She had orchestrated Yang Lu's involvement to embarrass and humiliate Ye Jianjia!

But why was Ye Jianjia so composed?

How could Ye Qingyun accept this?

"I've heard you've been pleading with Ms. Yang repeatedly to meet, all for a paltry design fee of 150,000 yuan. That's less than the cost of my handbag. Have you no pride?" Ye Qingyun squinted her eyes, fixating on Ye Jianjia, trying to penetrate her facade and provoke an outburst of rage.
