C6 Two Conditions

Ye Chongyun's statement directly contradicted his words from the previous night, yet he maintained his composure, responding, "You have the option to refuse."

With a smile, Ye Jianjia replied, "If the terms are favorable, I see no reason to refuse."

"You've grown considerably smarter since we last met," Ye Chongyun remarked with a light huff, cutting to the chase without further ado. "Due to reasons I cannot disclose, the marriage between the Ye and Mu families must proceed as planned. Medically speaking, if a person in a vegetative state hasn't awakened after five years, it signifies that..."

"It signifies that the chances of waking up in this lifetime are virtually nil," Ye Jianjia interjected calmly. "Mu Tingsu has been in a coma for over five years. Ye Qingyun cannot marry someone who is likely to remain comatose for life; it would destroy her future. But my situation is different; my life is already in ruins. To the Ye family and to you, I'm worthless, right?"

Ye Chongyun regarded her with a cold gaze. "Exactly! When you chose to have an illegitimate child, you ruined your life. I won't mince words with you. Agree to marry Mu Tingsu, and I'll sign off on the marriage, ensuring you receive the 50 million inheritance from your mother. Rest assured, you can divorce Mu Tingsu after two years."

"So, it seems all of this has been orchestrated by someone?"

Clearly, the goal was to ensure Mu Tingsu got married.

Oddly enough, why was there a need to ensure a vegetative man had a wife? And specifically, a daughter from the Ye family?

"You don't need to concern yourself with that," Ye Chongyun stated.

"I have no intention of concerning myself," Ye Jianjia replied with a nonchalant shrug.

For generations, the affairs of the elite have been murky, filled with too many uncertainties. However, for Ye Jianjia, these details were irrelevant; her interests were what mattered.

"But what makes you think the Mu family would agree to Mu Tingsu marrying a woman with six children?" she queried.

"Don't assume I'm unaware that those six children aren't legally yours. To prevent them from being labeled as illegitimate, you registered them under the names of a couple abroad, with the man named Ye Su," Ye Chongyun stated confidently. "To the Mu family and everyone else, it will appear as though you have no children."

"It seems I've misunderstood you, Father. You truly have a firm grasp on my life!" Ye Jianjia confidently stated, "I'm willing to marry Mu Tingsu, but I have one more condition."

Upon hearing this, Ye Qingyun quickly cautioned, "Ye Jianjia, don't overstep!"

"Overstep?" Ye Jianjia retorted with a cold laugh, "I'm resolving a major issue for you, and all I'm getting is the inheritance that rightfully belongs to me. How is that overstepping?"

Ye Chongyun narrowed his eyes, "What's the condition?"

"I want the villa in the East District Spring Garden."

That villa had been where Ye Jianjia and her family lived before her mother's death. After her mother passed, Zhu Meiqin moved in, and they relocated to the current Ye family residence.

The villa held countless memories of her and her mother. Besides, when she had the chance to strike a hard bargain with Ye Chongyun, why should she hold back?

"You're quite bold," Ye Chongyun remarked with a sneer, yet he conceded, "I agree to your terms."

Ye Qingyun's eyes widened in disbelief, "Dad..." She remembered her father promising that villa as her wedding dowry!

"Be quiet," Ye Chongyun shot her a stern look before turning back to Ye Jianjia, "I agree, but on one condition. We'll draft a separate contract for the 50 million. I'll sign it now, but it won't take effect until two years later. That's when you'll receive the money. So, for these two years, you must dutifully play the role of Mrs. Mu."

Ye Jianjia let out a low chuckle, "Is this to keep me in line?"

Ye Chongyun merely sneered in response, "If you're in agreement, be at the Civil Affairs Bureau tomorrow at three in the afternoon. Someone will be there to guide you through all the formalities."

"I agree!" Ye Jianjia exclaimed. "And the villa and the inheritance..."

"Tomorrow morning, we'll handle all the paperwork together. I'll sign everything and transfer the villa to you."

Ye Jianjia's smile was one of pure satisfaction, "I appreciate your decisiveness, President Ye! Then it's settled."
