C7 Kiddo Was Happy to Have a Stepfather

"What? You agreed?" Zhang Zhe's eyes widened in disbelief. "Marriage is a lifelong commitment, how could you just agree to it?"

"Just relax and hear me out," Ye Jianjia coaxed, guiding her to the sofa to sit down. She stood behind the sofa, gently massaging her shoulders, and explained with a smile, "Marrying someone in a vegetative state who can't move or take advantage of me is way better than marrying some terrible old man! This way, I'll not only secure the fifty million my mother left me, but I'll also get a villa worth tens of millions. Soon, I'll move the kiddos into the villa. They won't have to stand in line for lack of space at mealtime anymore. It's going to be fantastic!"

Just then, a rosy-cheeked kiddo toddled over, her voice soft and sticky-sweet, "Mommy, open the lid."

It was Sixth, Ye Yilu, donning a light blue cake dress, her skin as white as snow, and her plump little face was exquisitely beautiful. Her sparkling, large eyes, framed by thick, curled lashes, made her even more adorable than a doll. She held her milk bottle high, waiting for her mother to open it.

"Well, well, who's the little fairy who can't open the bottle? Is that you?" Ye Jianjia chuckled, bending down to pinch her daughter's chubby cheek, taking the bottle of pure milk, and twisting off the cap for her.

Seeing their mother help their sister, the other kiddos excitedly swarmed around, lining up for their turn to have their bottles opened.

"So, you're not waiting for him anymore?" Zhang Zhe turned to look at her.

Ye Jianjia paused, then withdrew her hand and offered a slight smile, "I stopped waiting a long time ago."

"Do you really expect me to believe that?"

"Auntie, if a person disappears for two or three months, maybe they're just delayed. But two or three years? Either he's worthless, or he's dead," Ye Jianjia stated flatly, not even looking up. "The former isn't worth the wait, and the latter... well, there's simply no point in waiting."

"Before you say that, you should change your phone number first!"

Ye Jianjia replied, "I've kept my old number because I've had it for many years, and it's tied to so many things. It's just too much of a hassle to change it."

"I'm going to hang the laundry." Zhang Zhe, having had enough of the conversation, stood up and headed for the balcony.

Ye Jianjia finished twisting off bottle caps for each kiddo, her gaze softening as she looked at them. "Whether he's trash or dead, he's not coming back. Let's just consider him dead and gone!"

She stretched out her hand to pull the closest, Third, Ye Yiye, toward her. "Mr. Yiye, Mommy's going to find you a new daddy. That way, Mommy will have plenty of money to buy you lots of tasty treats. How does that sound?"

The kiddos, hearing the promise of "lots of tasty treats," nodded vigorously and chorused, "Yes!"

Ye Jianjia chuckled and kept up the playful banter: "Get ready for a new daddy, and lots of money!"

In their sweet, childish voices, the kiddos echoed, "New daddy, lots of money!"

Ye Jianjia, pleased, pinched each of their chubby cheeks. "Excellent! You're all good kiddos, united with Mommy. I've decided that after we welcome your new daddy tomorrow, we'll go to the biggest mall and shop till we drop!"

The kiddos chimed in together, "Shop, shop, shop!"

On the balcony, Zhang Zhe couldn't suppress a chuckle. "Heh..."

It was the first time he'd seen kids so overjoyed about getting a new dad!

The following morning, Ye Chongyun signed the necessary documents and finalized the transfer of the Spring Garden Villa.

That afternoon, Ye Jianjia kept her appointment at the Civil Affairs Bureau.

When she arrived, people were already waiting for her, and she received her marriage certificate before even meeting her "soon-to-be husband."

Though surprised, she knew the world of the wealthy was complex and didn't bother with the details.

Her marriage to Mu Tingsu was merely a business deal. Now that she had reaped the benefits of the bargain, it was time to fulfill her end of the "responsibility."

The role she had assumed was that of "Mrs. Mu."

After departing from the Civil Affairs Bureau, Ye Jianjia found herself being courteously escorted to a car for a trip to Mu Tingsu's residence.

Located a stone's throw from the city center, the residence commanded its own private forest. A long, private driveway led to the grand estate, where a sleek black Maybach glided through the wooded path and boldly approached the castle-like manor, with the gates closing gently behind it.

Gazing upon the stately architecture and the vast, opulent grounds, Ye Jianjia's eyes couldn't help but grow wide in awe.

Named "Stream Garden" in honor of Mu Tingsu, the manor was now valued at several billion.

Rumors spoke of Mu Tingsu's immovable status within the Mu family—a status that was clearly reflected in the grandeur of his dwelling.
