C12 Northern Mountain Village

"Beauty, thank you for saving my life!" Chen Feng managed to stand, supporting his weakened body.

"Beauty?" The woman giggled, covering her mouth. "My name is Wu Mei. You can call me Sister Wu!"

"Sister Wu, my mother always said that even the smallest kindness should be repaid with a boundless gratitude. So, should I offer to marry you in thanks?"

Chen Feng was utterly serious as he proposed this, as though he genuinely meant to express his gratitude.

Had his statement not been so peculiar, Wu Mei might have believed Chen Feng truly intended to repay her in such a manner!

Wu Mei burst into laughter and remarked, "You're quite the character, aren't you? You're the first person in all of Northern Mountain Village to dare speak to me this way!"

"Northern Mountain Village?"

Chen Feng furrowed his brows in thought. He recalled seeing a village just before he passed out, and indeed, his mental map featured a marker for such a place.

But the marker was so tiny it was nearly negligible, the smallest spot in all of White Cloud City!

"So this place has a village," Chen Feng said, suddenly enlightened.

"Absolutely. Northern Mountain Village is a secluded little hamlet. You're lucky to have found your way here!" Wu Mei boasted with a look that suggested he had struck gold. "Not just anyone can stumble upon Northern Mountain Village. If I hadn't been bathing in the river outside and come back just in time to find you, you'd be in the belly of a Demonic Beast by now! You better thank me quickly!"

Wu Mei stood with her hands on her hips, smiling in anticipation of Chen Feng's gratitude. However, Chen Feng scratched his cheek awkwardly and asked, "Sister Wu, did you just refer to yourself as 'grandaunt'?"

Upon hearing this, Wu Mei's mood flipped, and she slapped Chen Feng on the shoulder, retorting, "I am a lady of good upbringing; how could I ever say such a thing!"

As Chen Feng clutched his chest, he saw Wu Mei's flushed face and felt certain she had indeed almost called herself "Grandaunt."

Just then, Chen Feng's stomach growled loudly. He was so famished he could devour a whole cow. Embarrassed, Chen Feng was about to speak when Wu Mei chuckled and said, "Hold on a moment. I'll go fetch you something to eat."

Wu Mei left the room as she finished speaking.

Shortly thereafter, Wu Mei returned with several robust young men in tow, carrying seven or eight plates brimming with rice and various dishes.

However, the young men seemed hesitant to make eye contact. They fixated on the ground beneath their feet as though they might find coins there.

After setting down the food, they quickly exited, clearly intimidated by Wu Mei.

"Look at you all, do I look like I'm going to eat you? Take a look at him," Wu Mei teased, her lips curling into a provocative smile. She cast a coquettish glance at Chen Feng, her tongue casually grazing her lips in a tantalizing gesture.

Her pink, glistening tongue traced her well-shaped red lips, leaving them glistening. The sight stirred Chen Feng, leaving him with a dry mouth and a quenched hunger that momentarily eclipsed his appetite.

Chen Feng swallowed hard, thinking to himself that she was indeed an extraordinary beauty.

"I had you pegged as someone who preferred men. Turns out you're a bit of a rascal too!" Wu Mei laughed heartily. Chen Feng, famished as he was, didn't bother with formalities. He grabbed a steamed bun and began to devour it hungrily. Between bites, he mumbled, "Everyone is drawn to beauty, who could be the exception?"
