C28 Eek!

As Chen Feng spoke, Wu Mei flaunted her figure right in front of him.

By the end of the conversation, Chen Feng couldn't recall his last words; his mind was overrun with images of plump, beautiful rabbits frolicking across the grasslands of his heart.

"You truly are a rake!"

Wu Mei looked at Chen Feng with an amused expression. Snapping back to reality, Chen Feng replied, "Beauty, it's quite improper to tempt a gentleman in such a manner. I am a man of pure heart. My noble character is as pristine as jade, and I am certainly not susceptible to the likes of your seduction!"

"You rake, claiming to be pure as ice and jade? That's revolting!"

To Chen Feng's astonishment, Wu Mei spat at him with disdain and then glared at him, exclaiming, "Narcissist!"

After her remark, Wu Mei cast a coquettish glance at Chen Feng, leaving him utterly elated and his spirit fluttering.

"By the way, today is the day our village's robust young men go hunting in the mountains. Would you care to join them, Immortal Master?"

Chen Feng had been relishing a leisurely existence, spending his days eating and sleeping. Wu Mei had been bringing him three meals a day, simple fare though they were, and he wasn't one to complain.

Realizing that Wu Mei had rescued him and continued to care for him daily, Chen Feng felt he couldn't just bask in the village's comforts indefinitely. He nodded and said, "Then I shall accompany them into the mountains. Should they come across any formidable beasts, or even a Demonic Beast, my presence will offer them some measure of safety. At the very least, I can ensure their safe return!"

"Great, I'll take you to the village entrance," Wu Mei said with a smile that was utterly captivating.

As they walked along the village path, Chen Feng inquired, "Does your village only venture into the mountains for hunting once a month?"

"How could that be?" Wu Mei replied, her tone tinged with sadness. "On the 10th, 20th, and 30th of each month, our village's young and strong people gather to hunt in the mountains. But we only ever manage to catch small game. It's quite a challenge as it is, since no one dares to venture too deeply into the mountains for fear of the powerful Demonic Beast that is said to reign supreme there!"

"Oh? So, there's a king of beasts deep within the mountain, is that it?"

Chen Feng hadn't expected that, beyond the Flaming Beast Plains, there would be a Demonic Beast lurking in an ordinary mountain in the mortal world!

But then it occurred to him that maybe a Demonic Beast from the outskirts of the Flaming Beast Plains had just happened to wander into the mortal mountain range. And with no natural predators around, this Demonic Beast could easily claim the mountain as its own, ruling over all the wild animals. It was entirely possible!

"Yeah, it's just an old tale passed down from the previous generation. Whether it's true or not, I don't know. But sometimes, at night, the roars of wild beasts echo through the forest, and it's quite terrifying!"

"Alright, in that case, when I join them on their venture into the mountains, I'll see if I can encounter this legendary Demonic Beast and perhaps catch some larger wild animals for the villagers to feast on!"

While Chen Feng was talking, they had reached the village entrance.

At that moment, the Village Chief was advising ten robust young men to be careful, and upon noticing Chen Feng's arrival, the Old Village Chief's eyes immediately sparkled with recognition.
