C1029 You Can Do Whatever You Want to It!
Behind Yu Yuan, another piece of land was being dragged across the sea. With the disappearance of the Luminescent Barrier, many bandits watching from a distance experienced the bitter taste of being infused with the psionic power of the tainted Star River. The low-bloodline warriors of the Otherkin cried out as they helplessly watched their vitality surge chaotically and their flesh tear apart.
The two trailing pieces of land, containing the psionic power and the crystalline force that had condensed the Luminescent Barrier, seemed to be frantically drained of their energy by Lambing after he summoned the massive Golden Trident. These lands resembled two dire beasts, stripped of their lifeblood and on the brink of death.
The tip of the Golden Trident, refined to an extreme degree, radiated a terrifying power akin to a full-force strike from the Grand Sword Immortal of the Unbound realm. Even Yu Yuan felt a chill in his heart.
With a whoosh, he attempted to ascend, no longer bound by the golden chains. As he moved, the Golden Trident before Lambing subtly adjusted its angle. Its massive tip remained trained on him, locking onto his aura and soul.
He had an intuition that once the Golden Trident was fully charged, its thunderous strike would be swift and inescapable. He was nearly certain that he would be struck the moment three golden beams flashed. At his current level, there was no way he could evade the lightning-fast assault of the trident.
His brow furrowed as he silently called out in his mind. The Crucible of Evil, under Yu Yiyi's command, was already en route. Peach Madam had ceased her slaughter and stood upon the billowing clouds, seemingly oblivious to the nearby cries of anguish. She gazed at the trident with a grave expression for the first time, as if she too sensed the looming danger.
Zhan Ruonan and Sun Jun, two cultivators of the Solar Spirit, cautioned Yu Yuan to be vigilant while they dispersed, continuously shifting their positions to avoid aligning with him. Their actions spoke volumes about the might of the Golden Trident. Their movements were clearly driven by the fear of being collateral damage if they were caught in a direct line with Yu Yuan.
"Lambing!" Elena of the Shura called out once more in warning, but Lambing remained indifferent.
"Let him go through with it," Pattinson advised, stepping back and patting Elena's shoulder. As she turned to him, he shook his head and said, "The notion of capturing him alive is pure fantasy. Elena, consider it fortunate that someone who has caught the attention of the Great Demon God Grec could be killed so cleanly."
Elena paused, letting out a low sigh. "I was hoping for a bit more fun... Sigh."
"Die!" Lambing's roar, primal as a dire beast, accompanied the release of three blinding golden beams from the massive Golden Trident.
The Dark Nebula was suddenly alight with brilliance.
The golden beams, like spectacular meteors, burst forth with a blinding divine glow.
Crack!
The first beam shattered the pale green Luminescent Barrier surrounding Yu Yuan as if it were glass.
The terrifying force seemed capable of piercing through Domains, enough to severely wound a ninth-level archdemon.
Yu Yuan saw only a resplendent sea of golden light, massive golden particles, and fragments of energy crystals engulfing him.
The Crucible of Evil was still en route.
His psychic link with Yu Yiyi severed in an instant as the first golden beam erupted.
His soul felt a tug, a memory sparkle detonated in his mind, and he vanished on the spot.
The three resplendent beams carved open spatial pathways in the void where Yu Yuan had stood.
Then, as golden light rained down, Yu Yuan was nowhere to be found.
The three fist-sized golden portals in the Star River closed swiftly.
"It can even pierce through space. Forget a Spirit Walk cultivator, even an Unbound cultivator from the Everlands would be utterly annihilated," Lambing exclaimed, his fists clenched in excitement. "Uncle Pattinson, this artifact, a legacy of my father, was meant for confronting formidable foes. It hasn't disappointed, has it?"
Pattinson watched the golden radiance fade, the land re-emerging behind Luminescent Barriers, and the area where Yu Yuan had vanished. He murmured, "The Demon God Grec sought him, and now you've blasted him away. We're likely to become infamous. The Ashen Hollow might well be revealed because of this."
The might of the Golden Trident was fearsome. Such prominent golden beams, capable of rending space, could likely be detected by the ninth-level Mighty of the Voidweavers.
And through such means, the Ashen Hollow might also be uncovered.
"It's such a pity."
Elena, clearly upset, gave Lambing a few more kicks to the rear. "This is all your fault for showing off. We had an agreement—he was mine! And now, he's vanished without a trace, not even leaving behind a scrap of bone. You owe me!"
Lambing let out a strange chuckle.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Fellow humans, Peach Madam, Zhan Ruonan, and Sun Jun, emerged one by one into the frigid expanse of the Star River.
Their remnant souls spread out like a net, covertly seeking any sign of Yu Yuan. They couldn't quite accept that he had been so effortlessly obliterated by a rogue wielding a weapon of doom.
Despite the undeniable terror unleashed by the three golden beams of the Golden Trident.
"Even I might have been hurt. That young man may truly be dead..."
Peach Madam gently shook her head, feeling a sense of loss. Knowing that Yu Yuan was the former God of Medicine and had advanced so rapidly in this life, she had hoped to witness more of his journey.
She was curious to see just how far Yu Yuan could go.
About to re-enter the Unbound Realm, she felt more powerful than before her fall and harbored little fear of Yu Yuan. Thus, she was eager to explore the Domain under the Skyreach Consortium's control to become more acquainted with it.
"Dead?"
Zhan Ruonan was bewildered.
She had caught wind of Yu Yuan's dealings with the Hellbreed Zhou Cangmin and Yuan Lianyao, aware of his deep ties to the Ruby Hand.
Her decision to linger was driven by a desire to unravel the recent events in the Everlands.
The enigmatic Yu Yuan had brought her many surprises, and she was keen to observe him further.
But then...
In that instant.
Benin, clutching the Dragon Slaying Stage, shuddered as if jerked awake from a blissful dream, her face alight with happiness.
"Benin! Have you completed your bloodline's advancement?" Hart exclaimed, his voice tinged with excitement.
The Voidweaver maiden nodded slightly, a newfound confidence gracing her features. "This time, if we decide to leave, I feel somewhat assured."
"This stone is now yours!" Hart whispered urgently. "When you shattered the boundaries of your bloodline, that man was annihilated! The stone, now masterless, belongs to you! You can return to the Voidweavers with it in hand, and you'll be hailed as a hero!"
Suddenly, Benin's figure wavered, as though she had lost her footing.
Then, seemingly oblivious to the meaning in Hart's words and the excitement on his face, she gazed with a serene expression toward Lambing on another landmass.
Lambing, utterly perplexed, mused, "That Voidweaver girl seems to admire me greatly. It must be because I killed the one the Great Demon God Grec was after. I'm accustomed to such gazes. She must have fallen for me."
He stroked his smooth chin, smugly satisfied.
But in a flash, his eyes widened in surprise, and he stumbled backward.
Just a moment ago, Benin was on the opposite land, under his watchful eye, and then, suddenly, she was right in front of him, their noses mere inches apart.
They were practically face-to-face.
"Benin!"
Hart was equally astonished.
In the blink of an eye, Benin vanished from his view, only to reappear on another landmass.
This was the hallmark of a Voidweaver, a talent only high-ranking Heirs of Blood could awaken.
Benin had only just broken through her bloodline. Even if she had awakened to "instantaneous teleportation," it seemed impossible for her to execute it so adeptly. Moreover, with enemies on the opposite side, what could she possibly be up to?
"You!"
Pattinson and Elena, staring at Benin, exclaimed in unison, a strong sense of unease gripping their hearts.
Benin cradled the Dragon Slaying Stage in her hands, her clear eyes locked intently on Lambing.
As Lambing's heart faltered, she pulled a wry smile, "Someone's looking for you."
"Who?" Lambing asked, bewildered.
"Naturally, it's me."
Yu Yuan's deep voice, along with a weave of crimson sword light, emerged, and the unsuspecting man from the Moonlit Wanderers was instantly enveloped by the sword light and burst into a cloud of blood mist.
At seventh level bloodline and with a frail physique, how could Lambing withstand such a powerful sword strike from such close quarters?
In front of Pattinson and Elena, a figure appeared as if stepping through from another realm.
"Yu, Yu Yuan!"
Without a second thought, Pattinson of the Shadowkin extended his hand, casting a veil of shadowy light to shield Elena. "You're still alive? How did you manage to survive?!"
Yu Yuan firmly grasped the Dragon Slaying Stage with a reverse grip and glanced back at Benin, nodding affirmatively, "You're free now."
A gleam of happiness shone in Benin's eyes. She hesitated briefly before asking timidly, "Could we, perhaps, stay a bit longer? I need just a little more time."
She knew all too well that with Yu Yuan's takeover of the Ashen Hollow and Lambing's death, the once-feared weapon no longer posed a threat. Yet, she needed time to solidify her bloodline before she could safely escape with Hart.
"Suit yourself," Yu Yuan responded nonchalantly, his eyes narrowing as he turned his gaze to Pattinson and the diminishing figure of Elena. With a mocking tone, he taunted, "Such a confined space—where could you possibly flee? Lambing is dead. Surrender now and submit to my judgment; it might just spare your lives."
As he spoke, Yu Yiyi, guiding the Crucible of Evil, had already made her timely arrival.
Noticing Pattinson's reluctance to surrender amidst the dim light, Yu Yuan pointed inside and commanded, "Get in there."
The dark cauldron promptly submerged into the shadows.
"Yu Yuan!"
Peach Madam and Zhan Ruonan finally traversed the Star River, setting foot on the foremost land—a modestly sized area adorned with a tower-like stone temple brimming with precious magic items. Suddenly, numerous Otherkin of modest bloodline levels emerged, their attire opulent, their gazes filled with trepidation, bodies quivering with unease.
"Zhan Ruonan, Sun Jun, it's time for our parting," Yu Yuan declared, indifferent to the cauldron spirit's actions. He mused for a moment before addressing the two Solar Spirit powerhouses of the Ruby Hand, "I trust that upon your departure, you'll refrain from disclosing my affairs too hastily."
"Why the rush to send us off?" inquired Zhan Ruonan.
She peered down at the Bane writhing in the dim light and sensed the cauldron spirit marshaling a host of fearsome souls to besiege Pattinson and Elena, concealed in the depths. She was aware that the outcome would soon be revealed.
"Different paths mean different alliances," Yu Yuan remarked with a furrowed brow, pausing to consider his words. "Should you find yourselves back in the Everlands soon and encounter Yuan Lianyao, please convey to her that I am unharmed in the extraterrestrial Star River. I'm living quite freely and will continue to ascend. I'll be waiting for her to come and meet me."
At that juncture, Zhan Ruonan realized that staying any longer might provoke Yu Yuan's wrath.
Yu Yuan, shrouded in mystery, was an enigma to her, and she wasn't eager to provoke a conflict just yet.
She was determined to uncover what had transpired within the Everlands that led to Yu Yuan's animosity towards the five paramount powers, especially the Ruby Hand.
"Alright, if I return, I'll relay the message to her without omitting a single detail," Zhan Ruonan affirmed with a nod.
Then, she exchanged a knowing glance with Sun Jun, and they decisively turned and departed.
Shortly after their departure, Pattinson of the Shadowkin and Elena of the Shura were brought forth by Yu Yiyi.
"I will comply and submit to your judgment willingly!"
Elena held her hands high, her posture proud, the untamed spirit in her eyes intact, and her face was alight with a smile.
