C1056 Fireworks

Countless beams of starlight converged above the warship, forming a light shield as smooth as glass.

An elder of the Colman family, a Ninth Level bloodline holder, had a brief exchange with Wilson before covertly activating a hidden device within the warship, preparing to evacuate at a moment's notice.

The presence of the Golden Rock Beast horde, Yue Mu wielding the Heavenly Water Sword, and several Yang God level cultivators instilled a profound sense of danger.

The most dreaded encounter for the non-humans of the Outland Star River was with the hunters of the Demon and Human races. Aware of their strength and ruthlessness, these non-humans typically avoided confrontation without the assurance of victory.

With the Oblivion Starfield so close, why engage in a skirmish in this peripheral region?

Asa and Wilson distrusted both Yu Yuan and Peach Madam, as these two, despite their naivety, were also from the Boundless Land's Human Race. They suspected that the Babel Chamber of Commerce and Divine Soul Sect had made preparations within the Oblivion Starfield.

If they could just get the warship into the Oblivion Starfield, those Human Race monsters, clearly aligned with the five supreme beings of the Boundless Land, wouldn't dare pursue them.

"Wilson, you?" Benin, who had urged them to come, was taken aback by their timidity. The once bold front they presented against their own kind, like Pattinson and Elena, had vanished without a trace. At the first sign of trouble, the Colman family was ready to flee.

"We'll discuss further once we're in the Oblivion Starfield!" Wilson declared, showing no interest in posturing, even with Benin at his side.

While conversing with Benin, his eyes, alert and anxious, were fixed on the meteor cluster where the Golden Rock Beasts lay in wait.

"Hurry!" Wilson shouted, his voice filled with urgency.

He had just noticed the Golden Rock Beasts on the meteors springing into action following Jin Lih's menacing grin.

Whoosh! The meteors, large and small, seemed to be steered by the Golden Rock Beasts, hurtling towards their warship like massive golden grinding wheels at a terrifying speed.

"Heh heh, since you've seen it, there's no need to rush off."

Jin Lih bared his teeth in a sinister grin. With a mere gesture to Yue Mu, he commanded, "My minions, the feast has arrived. Indulge to your heart's content."

The Golden Rock Beasts, poised for battle atop their meteor perches, began to gnash their teeth in anticipation.

The formidable warriors of the Dark Elfkind were merely a light starter. The expensive Star Race battleship before them, and its crew, appeared to be the main dish.

"Fire the cannons!"

Asa, assessing the situation, made a snap decision and signaled for the attack.

The elongated prismatic crystal pillars adjusted their angles slightly as the star energy within surged and refined at a breakneck pace. It seemed to merge through an array, solidifying into beams as thick as arms.

In a flash, more than a dozen blinding beams of star energy blasted towards the oncoming Golden Rock Beasts.

The meteorites upon which the Golden Rock Beasts were perched shattered instantly when struck by the Star Dome Divine Cannon.

An Eighth Level Golden Rock Beast, if too slow to evade, would have its body—hard as divine iron—pierced in an instant by the Star Dome Divine Cannon.

For the less fortunate beasts, a direct hit to the heart would spell instant death.

However, if the Star Dome Divine Cannon struck elsewhere, the Golden Rock Beast would merely roar in agony. The gaping wounds would visibly wriggle and astonishingly heal at an incredible rate.

These Eighth Rank Greater Demons possessed extraordinary physiques; unless their hearts were pierced, they would suffer only injuries.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Several Yang cultivators from the Quietus Continent, in league with the Golden Rock Beasts, also charged towards the Star Race warship.

Zhan Ruonan and Sun Jun were among them.

A Yang cultivator from the Devil Palace, elusive under the barrage of the Star Dome Divine Cannon, vanished in a flash and reemerged beneath the Star Race warship. With a thrust of his dark green spear, he struck the underbelly of the vessel, causing the light shield to fracture extensively.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The Golden Rock Beasts, emerging from the cannon fire, rammed the warship's shield with their meteorites.

The most powerful Ninth Level Golden Rock Beast, standing on a larger meteorite, emitted a "huff" as it began to shift from its humanoid form into its true beastly shape.

"I will take care of them!"

His low growl resonated among the still meteorites behind him.

There, the Heavenly Water Sword, Yue Mu, was overpowering Fernand.

Huang Baiqi had plunged his slender sword into Rony's chest, and several cultivators from the Heavenly Source Continent were present.

The Demon Palace, Devil Palace, and cultivators from the Quietus Continent joined forces to assault the Star Race's battleship.

Meanwhile, they continued their onslaught against Rony and Fernand, simultaneously dealing with Yu Yuan and Peach Madam.

This was an unspoken understanding reached between both parties in a short time.

Whoosh!

The dark cauldron soared into the sky, breaking through the thin firefly photomask and venturing into the ominous and silent expanse of space.

Yu Yuan stood within the cauldron, hands braced on its rim, gazing out as if admiring the magnificent scenery beyond the sky, calmly making his way toward the gathering place of the Heavenly Source Continent's cultivators.

"Ah, it's really bad luck to be associated with this guy."

With a look of resignation, Hu Caiyun barely hesitated as the Evil Cauldron took flight. She stood amidst the swirling rainbow clouds and gracefully soared toward the Heavenly Water Sword, Yue Mu.

"Don't move!"

On Gloomy Paradise, an Eighth Level Asura Clan warrior was firmly holding Elena down. "If you go now, you'll only cause more trouble. They can use the general to threaten you, but they won't care about his life or death."

Pattinson added, "Listen to him!"

Elena was quick to grasp the implications of his words and nodded emphatically.

The Yang cultivators of humanity had never regarded them highly. The life and death of her father and Rony were inconsequential to someone like Huang Baiqi.

Likewise, they assumed Yu Yuan and Hu Caiyun would be indifferent as well.

In such a situation, it would be challenging for Huang Baiqi and Yue Mu to leverage Fernand and Rony's fate. And Fernand, being a Ninth Level Platinum Asura, though battered, was not someone who could be swiftly dispatched.

It was probable that the Heavenly Water Sword would disregard Fernand and Rony for the time being, due to the arrival of Hu Caiyun and Yu Yuan.

Upon realizing this, Elena remained rooted to the spot, gazing expectantly at Yu Yuan and Hu Caiyun.

"Don't get your hopes up too high," Pattinson murmured, his eyes betraying an odd glint. "The fact that they've shown up is surprising enough. Yu Yuan and that lady aren't likely to risk their lives for us, for you."

What he meant was that Yu Yuan's connection with her was fleeting, and the unfeeling, cold-hearted humans wouldn't care about her fate.

"Of course, they wouldn't go to the mat for you, Elena..."

"I'm not expecting too much. I'm just... just hoping for a miracle," she replied, her voice softening as she gently bowed her head, seemingly accepting the harsh truth. She doubted that Yu Yuan would engage in a life-or-death battle with his own kind over a few intimate encounters.

"Yue Mu."

Yu Yuan alighted from the Evil Cauldron with ease, casting a peculiar glance at the wielder of the Heavenly Water Sword.

Under Yu Yuan's gaze, Yue Mu quickly backed down, managing a wry smile. "Greetings, Senior Hong."

"Hmm!"

Yue Mu's deference caused a stir among the Yang God Stage experts on the larger meteorite and those nearby.

Elena and Pattinson, aboard the distant Gloomy Paradise, were momentarily taken aback. Could it be that the two men knew each other from before?

"Senior, I cannot begin to repay your past kindness. Please forgive me," Yue Mu said softly, a hint of regret in his voice. "I stand for the Sword Sect, and I cannot afford a single misstep."

"Just call me by my name," Yu Yuan said with a smile.

"Peach Madam, perhaps you should step in. I have no desire to cross swords with Yu Yuan," Yue Mu said, his tone laced with resignation. "Otherwise, upon my return to the Boundless Land, Senior Ji will surely not spare me."

"Are you suggesting I take your place?" Hu Caiyun pointed to herself, her expression a mix of amusement and disbelief. "Great Sword Immortal, you're the future cornerstone of the Sword Sect. Is it right to challenge a widow who's lost her husband? Besides, you're aware of the circumstances of my husband's death, aren't you?"

"He died for the three upper sects. Shouldn't you honor the past and spare me any further trouble?"

At those words, the seasoned Yang cultivators privy to the backstory fell into a contemplative silence.

Huang Baiqi was dismissive, "Who isn't sacrificing for their faction? The human champions who fell in the Outland Star River are countless. It's not as if your husband was the only one."

"You foul-mouthed jerk!"

Hu Caiyun's fury was instantly sparked. Disregarding Yue Mu's suggestion, she sent her vibrant rainbow clouds toward Huang Baiqi like splendid Flowing Flames.

She couldn't care less about Rony's fate.

Yue Mu drew forth a sword light infused with the peculiar essence of water and sent it streaking through the rainbow clouds. Holding his sword, he glanced at the person behind him and said, "Fernand, it's your turn to handle this."

The individual nodded slightly.

Yue Mu vanished into thin air, only to reappear within the rainbow clouds, continuously slashing at the drifting glows, mists, and noxious vapors, extinguishing each one. The newly transformed bodies of vicious beasts, mutated monsters, and great demons that succumbed to the deadly miasma were obliterated in the blink of an eye by his sword strokes.

Hu Caiyun had no desire to confront him; she was intent on dealing with Huang Baiqi, but she realized Yue Mu was even less inclined to engage with Yu Yuan. Whether or not Hu Caiyun consented, Yue Mu was determined to confront her.

She was powerless to stop it.

"Are you picking on me?"

Hu Caiyun's eyes rounded with indignation, and the radiant peach tree behind her emerged once more, looking increasingly mystical and extraordinary.

"From the Primordial Yang Sect, Loo Rui of Quill Mountain," announced the man stepping in for Yue Mu.

"Tang Zheng's lineage from Quill Mountain," Yu Yuan chuckled, shaking his head, "Fate indeed has a way of bringing adversaries together."
