C1079 Yin God Refining

The Devaputra possessed a mastery of transformation, able to morph into any form it desired at will.

Before Yu Yuan stood the Green Incubus, clad in ancient armor reminiscent of the Rend Armor depicted in the Evil Cauldron.

The armor was hollow, for the Green Incubus was not a being of flesh and blood but a spirit.

Originating from the Outland Devaputra, this spectral Green Incubus wielded the innate power to manipulate nightmares, a talent it used to infiltrate the souls of all living creatures.

Its ethereal form boasted sharp fangs and a haunting, pale face.

Yu Yuan found this face rather unfamiliar since, during his time in the Fallen Moon Forbidden Area, the Green Incubus had mostly occupied monuments, drawing upon their power to battle.

Nonetheless, Yu Yuan recognized the Green Incubus as the same entity that had once inhabited a monument, attempting to refine it into its own body.

In turn, the Green Incubus instantly recognized him upon sight.

Both in their spectral forms, the Green Incubus's armor was adorned with star-like patterns and countless strange talismans, bearing a striking resemblance to the inscriptions on the ancient monuments.

"After all this time, you still recognize me," the Green Incubus remarked as its fangs retracted and its menacing visage softened.

It swiftly transformed into a strikingly handsome man with an air of elegance and a somewhat androgynous charm. "This armor, crafted by my own hands, is akin to half of my body. Until I find a superior substitute, it shall serve as my shell."

With a hint of resignation, the Green Incubus added, "To wield the might of a Demon God Level, indeed, one requires a Demon Body."

His words conveyed a sense of dissatisfaction with the current armor, suggesting a lack of better options and a need to settle for the time being.

"You're quite audacious, Yin God, to venture through the outer galaxies. Do you fancy yourself a Demon God as well?"

As the Green Incubus spoke, other Devaputras who had successfully refined or seized bodies began to converge on the location.

Among them were Devaputras in their pure soul form, lacking Demon Bodies.

These Outland Devaputras, born without physical forms, were mere Devil Souls, yet they possessed a racial advantage over the fragile human souls and even the more refined Yin Gods.

When Devaputras at the Sixth or Seventh Level assumed their soul forms, they could break free from the protection of the realm's barrier and glide through the cosmos.

"Lord Green Incubus!"

"Greetings, Lord Green Incubus!"

A host of peculiar Devaputras saluted the esteemed one.

"Has Yuv Qian made his appearance yet?"

Green Incubus acknowledged the Devaputras with a cursory response before turning to inquire of Yu Yuan.

Yu Yuan nodded, "He arrived via the Galaxy Crossing."

"That's a relief. I have matters to discuss with him." Green Incubus was grave, making no effort to conceal his concerns from Yu Yuan. "Even though Yuv Qian has become the Ghost King, Tianzang, in Horror Land, his ties to the Divine Soul Sect remain. Like me, he bears the duty of upholding the order within the Oblivion Starfield."

"Is there an issue?" Yu Yuan inquired, intrigued.

He had learned from the Sky Shocking Emperor that numerous Divine Soul Sect powerhouses had not entered the Plover Realm directly but were dispersed across remote areas of the Starfield.

They would only emerge to address problems if there were real troubles.

"Several Galaxy Ancient Starships have inexplicably crashed recently, and the aliens aboard have vanished without a trace," Green Incubus revealed.

Yu Yuan felt a jolt of recognition, remembering Ann Ziqing's findings. "Ann Ziqing of the Blood God Cult has reported sightings of what she calls mutated monsters in a secluded location. And there are many of them!"

"Mutated monsters?"

Green Incubus appeared taken aback, pondering for a moment before muttering, "It's highly unlikely for mutated monsters to congregate. Lacking intelligence, they would engage in mutual slaughter until only the strongest survived, using their weaker kin to further their own evolution."

"Ann Ziqing is confident in what she saw. There's no mistaking it," Yu Yuan affirmed.

"I must investigate this myself. Plus, I need to speak with President Lyi." Green Incubus nodded, refraining from further skepticism. With a sly grin and a slight bow to Yu Yuan, he said, "It's been too long."

"Indeed, long time no see."

Following their brief conversation, Yu Yuan's Yin God could no longer endure the relentless seepage of alien energies and was the first to retreat.

Upon returning to his cultivation chamber, Yu Yuan watched as droplets of Yin Sunflower Essence drifted from the glass jar before him, merging with his Yin God form to purify it. This had become his routine method for refining his Yin God.

"Such a multitude of mutated monsters..."

His physical self, stroking his chin, sank into contemplation.

Some time later, a commotion from downstairs caught his attention. He sensed the presence of a Ninth Level expert from the Silver Scale Clan seeking a pill. With a mere thought, Yu Yuan instructed Luo Yue from his chamber to agree to the request and manage the situation. She promptly consented.

As a distinguished alchemist, Luo Yue found the Silver Scale Clan expert's request for a pill well within her capabilities.

Later, representatives from the Bright Clan arrived with an assortment of medicinal herbs and a peculiar liquid for soul nourishment, also in search of a pill. Yu Yuan, having previously agreed to assist Canli, delegated the task to Luo Yue and continued his arduous cultivation.

"Come shopping with me."

That day, Ann Ziqing, slightly rejuvenated, flung open the cultivation chamber door and strode in. The increasingly enchanting goddess, now in a flowing light purple gown that accentuated her delicate waist and captivating eyes, quickened Yu Yuan's heartbeat.

He gazed at Ann Ziqing, taking an extra moment before chuckling and shaking his head. "It's hard to connect you with who you were before."

"Before?"

Ann Ziqing shot him a look and spun gracefully under his watchful eye, showcasing her stunning form. "Only now do I realize that the Medicine God's Reincarnation Pill's effects were delayed for three hundred years because Tianhun and Dihun had not returned."

Her face betrayed a mix of amusement and frustration.

With the conclusion of the battle at the Fallen Moon Forbidden Area, Yu Yuan's identity as the Medicine God Hong Qi was no longer concealed. She had only learned the hidden truth from her father, Ann Wen.

Ann Wen had come to this realization on his own, unaware that he was the reincarnation of Hong Qi. He had believed it to be a contingency left by his old friend, the Evil King.

"Oh, by the way, who is my mother in this life?" Yu Yuan suddenly inquired.

"A heartless and ungrateful wretch," Ann Ziqing murmured under her breath. "Don't fret, she was once part of the Evil Sect on the Quietus Continent, but later, the Blood God Cult took her under their wing. Even your father and the elder dragons of Hidden Dragon Lake had to release her due to mounting pressures."

Yu Yuan was taken aback. "The elder dragons have suddenly become agreeable?"

"When you left with the two pieces of the Dragon Slash Platform, nobody dared to meddle with the one that suppresses the destiny of the Nagas. And as long as you live, you're the most likely candidate to refine it," Ann Ziqing said with a dismissive smile. "Loong Jie wouldn't dare to provoke you, especially after the way you handled him in the Fallen Moon Forbidden Area."

Shi Yuxuan from the Medicine Sect had informed him, before being possessed by the Great Demon God Grec, that his parents' disappearance was linked to the Fiend Sect and Hidden Dragon Lake, possibly even involving the shadow of the Medicine God Sect.

His meteoric rise to power and the transformation of the Evil King Yu Xi into the White Bone Ghost God had somehow made the impossible possible.

He had never truly met his parents, so his emotional attachment was limited. Yet, after uncovering some of the truth, he couldn't bear the thought of them dying senselessly, just to awaken him.

Now reassured of their safety, he relaxed. "Come on, whatever you want to buy, I'm with you."

He promptly rose to his feet.

...

Standing before the carnivorous plants that resembled giant octopuses, Ann Ziqing inquired about the dark brown herbs behind the glass. "How much for these?"

The attendant, a slender girl from the Shadow Clan dressed in the Babel Chamber of Commerce's old uniform, responded in fluent human tongue, "Seven hundred spirit jades."

Ann Ziqing nodded in approval. "I'll take them all. I want to replenish as much vitality as possible."

"There's a taint of corruption within them; it's not advisable to refine them directly," Yu Yuan offered helpfully.

"But isn't that what your Life Altar is for? It's perfect for this kind of task," Ann Ziqing stated, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
