C109 It Was All Thanks to Him!

The Su family's esteemed position within the Silvermoon Empire hinged on their mastery of pill-making.

Pills were the cornerstone of the Su family's existence, the bedrock of their survival.

Truth, however, cannot be contained forever. The Su family had confirmed through their networks that the pills in question had originated from the Yu family.

Su Yan understood the implications of the Yu family's ability to refine the Seed of Life all too well.

She had intended to keep this revelation to herself, planning to investigate further once she had left the forbidden area and returned to the Empire.

But as the group delved deeper into the Moonfall Sanctuary and with the awakening of the Moonfiend threatening the Empire's very existence, Su Yan's composure was shaken by the mounting dangers.

She could no longer contain her concerns.

"Did the Seed of Life truly come from the Yu family?" she pressed.

Yu Yuan, arms folded and expression cool, squinted at her.

His face bore an uncanny resemblance to one from his past life.

Whenever he gazed upon her, memories of the "Ji" surnamed woman from his previous life would surface, and despite the animosity between their families, he found it difficult to harbor any ill will towards Su Yan.

They were not the same person, after all.

Yet, Su Yan's probing into the matter of the Seed of Life was a step too far for Yu Yuan.

The pill was the Su family's lifeline, the foundation upon which they stood unshaken in the Empire. His and the Yu family's involvement in the pill trade had convinced the Su family that the Yu family could be annihilated without hesitation.

"I'm not sure what you're implying," Yu Yuan responded, his tone decidedly unfriendly. "Is the Su family seeking retribution? Whether the Yu family has the capability to refine pills or employs herbalists is surely none of the Su family's concern, is it?"

A hint of bitterness touched Su Yan's lips as she replied, "You've misunderstood."

"Misunderstood?"

"What I'm saying is, if the Yu family truly possesses the skill to refine pills, there's potential for collaboration," Su Yan clarified. "The circumstances have changed. The Empire is facing a disaster of untold proportions, and the state of the outside world is unknown to me. The Su family may not be able to weather this storm on their own."

In the current circumstances, the Su family wouldn't act rashly. Moreover, we're in the Moonfall Sanctuary, and we don't even know if we'll make it out alive.

The Su family approached the situation with earnestness, perhaps even overly accommodating, for fear of antagonizing Yu Yuan.

"What exactly do you mean by cooperation?" Yu Yuan asked, a bit taken aback. "Are you referring to after we leave the forbidden area, or while we're still here?"

"Either works," Su Yan said with a light laugh. "I carry many magic items and herbs for refining pills, and the Su family has a variety of pills as well. What we're always in need of is a master herbalist. If the Yu family has a highly skilled herbalist, then there is potential for collaboration."

"I see."

Yu Yuan stroked his chin, deep in thought. "Do you have the authority to speak for the Su family?"

"I do have some influence over my father," Su Yan replied, her chest swelling slightly with pride and a spark of excitement in her eyes. "Put simply, I don't want our Su family to be at odds with the Yu family. To be even more direct, I, Su Yan, don't want to provoke you, Yu Yuan, or earn your enmity."

"Ah," Yu Yuan nodded lightly. "I get it now. If we survive and leave the forbidden area, and you can convince your father to meet with me personally to discuss our issues thoroughly, perhaps we can find a way to resolve our differences. Naturally, the person who insulted and threatened me at the Yu family's place will need to come forward and apologize."

"Agreed!"

Su Yan's smile widened, and she lifted her fair hand, gesturing for a high five with Yu Yuan.

Yu Yuan hesitated for a moment but then met her halfway, their hands clapping together in midair.

"Smack!"

"Consider it a promise," Su Yan said cheerfully, her mood visibly uplifted. "You go on with your cultivation; I won't interrupt you any further."

She gracefully made her exit.

Upon reaching the Su family's quarters, the surviving members looked at her with astonishment.

"I've persuaded Yu Yuan. Once we're out of the forbidden area, he'll meet with my father to discuss the affairs between our families," Su Yan told them with a smile.

"Is Yu Yuan even qualified to have a direct conversation with your father?" a member of the Su family questioned.

What was Su Xiangtian's status, and what level of cultivation did he possess?

He was the prime candidate for the next head of the Su family, with the cultivation of the Lunar Spirit!

In the early stages of Soul Awakening, was Yu Yuan, who had just begun to make a name for himself in Asvetaesi, truly worthy of engaging in dialogue and negotiating affairs between the two families?

"You still don't see the big picture," Su Yan sighed softly. "Yu Yuan's future is destined for greatness! Should he leave the forbidden area, Lee Yu, Zhan Tianxiang, and Yan Lu will become his close friends. In such a scenario, if the Su family attempts to suppress the Yu family, they will face immense pressure. Once the Yu family rises in Asvetaesi, thanks to Yu Yuan, and catches the attention of the Silvermoon Empire, the Su family will have made a formidable enemy."

"Why go through all that?"

Su Yan looked at them and suggested, "Rather than take that path, it's better to prepare early. Let's foster a mutually beneficial relationship with the Yu family, offering some advantages to establish a friendly rapport."

"But the pill is the very heart of our family!" exclaimed a clan member.

"My father's views differ from the older generation's. He will welcome Yu Yuan and find a way to ensure the Su family's continued progress," Su Yan stated with confidence.

...

The journey into the depths of the forbidden area was relentless.

The survivors didn't pause to explore the vast pits and caverns along the way.

Whether they were cultivating or traveling, they never once encountered a Moonfiend.

As the night stretched on, the divine force showed no signs of intensifying despite their deeper incursion.

"Beyond here lies a different realm."

Lee Yu gestured towards the fragmented meteorites in the distance, "Those shattered meteorites were wrenched from the bowels of the earth during a battle and hurled at foes."

He continued, "The meteorites have formed a stone forest. Beyond it lies a region we were never meant to enter."

"So, we're approaching the heart of the forbidden area," someone noted.

Yu Yuan scrutinized the landscape, noting the varying heights of the meteorites, some towering dozens of meters and others just a few. Each had distinct sizes and elevations.

Clear sword scars marked many meteorites, evidence of fierce battles.

The meteorites, extracted from the earth's deep chasms, had fallen into this zone, creating an eerie stone forest.

Gazing upon the stone forest, Yu Yuan deduced that the conflict must have occurred between beings of the Lunar Spirit and Spirit Walk realms; otherwise, the weighty Moon Shards could not have been excavated from the deep pits.

"In my past life, I missed out on too many splendid vistas," Yu Yuan vowed silently. "This time around, I'm determined to make amends. I will traverse the three continents with my sword, soaring through the heavens and the earth."

"Let's go," Lee Yu called out, charging into the fray.

The rest of the group quickly followed suit.

Hours later, the world opened up before them as they officially stepped into the core of the Moonfall Sanctuary.

And right away, they encountered someone familiar.

"Young Aunt!"

"Lee Yu!"

Lee Yu and Lee Yuchan exclaimed in shock, both finding it hard to believe.

"You're still alive?" Lee Yuchan was even more astonished. "You didn't run into the Moonfiend?"

"We did, but we made it through," Lee Yu said, casting a glance at Yu Yuan. "He's the reason we're still here."
