C1210 The Divine Bird Was in the Sky

Three hundred years ago in the Everlands, the Ethereal Antidote was renowned as the unparalleled divine medicine for curing all poisons, a signature creation of the God of Medicine, Hong Qi.

In the twilight of his life, Hong Qi began experimenting with poisons, fearing an accidental poisoning could lead to his demise. Thus, he meticulously crafted this divine pill.

Legend has it that the Ethereal Antidote could neutralize every poison known to the world.

Upon its emergence, the mighty from the Devil Palace and Shadow's Keep sought the pill, aiming to brave the treacherous Rainbow Ocean. Their goal was to counteract the dense and corrupt miasma there, seeking to discover its myriad wonders and to contend with the bizarre entities it harbored.

Creatures like the Plague Demon and Peach Madam, despite their lesser combat prowess, could afflict even the mightiest warriors of the Unbound Realm with their potent toxins.

For a ninth-level archdemon, contact with such lethal poison could result in flesh rotting away or, at worst, a demon soul shattering.

In many respects, the Rainbow Ocean was deemed more perilous than the Land of Terror, a place of great malevolence feared even by the formidable denizens of the Devil Palace and Shadow's Keep.

In his past life, it was only after creating the Ethereal Antidote that Hong Qi dared to traverse the Rainbow Ocean with reckless abandon. The pill served as a talisman for safe passage through its perilous depths.

Due to the fragmented Cosmic Order in Zekrica, Yu Yuan was unable to craft a complete Ethereal Antidote with Serpentflame, managing only to concoct the Ethereal Potion, which he specifically intended for the fiend.

He had anticipated that Yu Zhu's father would seize any chance to strike him down. Therefore, before departing Zekrica, Yu Yuan prepared the Ethereal Potion for such a moment.

The seven toxic rivers were akin to the lifeblood of this fiend, with the soul of the Terra Fiend fully integrated into the poison, thriving within it.

By targeting the heart of the fiend's power with the Ethereal Potion, Yu Yuan aimed to severely weaken the Terra Fiend, rendering him unable to rise for a considerable time and limiting him to attacks using only the Terra Fiend's Soul Power.

With his Lunar Spirit restored and the ability to wield Wraithbinding, Yu Yuan, harboring the Shadow Moon Essence within his acupoints, had no reason to fear the fiend's spectral maneuvers.

With a single thought, another streak of scarlet sword light slashed forth.

"Spiritrend!"

In the instant the sword light took shape, the Shadow Moon Essence hidden within the acupoints was drawn out and infused into it, endowing the nascent sword light with a chilling sharpness capable of severing the souls of all beings.

The soul within the Starbeast instinctively detected the terrifying psionic power, shivering with dread.

"I, I..."

He backed away, trembling, head bowed, whispering pleas for mercy.

Yu Yuan narrowed his eyes, observing intently.

The scarlet sword light within the sheath was poised to burst forth at any moment.

"I won't dare again."

The fiend, now dozens of meters away, spoke in a voice as faint as a mosquito's buzz.

After a moment, the fluctuating scarlet sword light that Yu Yuan held began to fade slowly.

He took a deep look and noticed the stream of poison flowing like blood within the Starbeast's body had thinned significantly, a clear sign of the severe damage inflicted by the Ethereal Potion.

Like the fiend, the Dark Herald, and the Peach Madam, who were adept in the use of poison and drew their power from it, there were advantages and disadvantages.

In places like the Rainbow Ocean or the Yogreron of the extraterrestrial realms, where they could find miasma and poisonous herbs and insects, they could swiftly bolster their strength and return to their peak in mere moments.

In toxic environments, their combat prowess could skyrocket to terrifying levels.

However, once they left such locales, without a constant source of poison to absorb and refine, their power, once diminished, would be incredibly difficult to restore.

Take the fiend, for example; his seven potent and versatile rivers of poison, severely weakened by the Ethereal Potion, struggled to coalesce once more.

This was because there was no source of poison here.

Without access to a place like Zekrica or Yogreron to gather and refine poisonous substances, the fiend's combat strength could only remain at its current level.

He posed no further threat.

"If I show you too much kindness, you start to believe you're significant. Had it not been for your connection to Yu Zhu, you would have been eradicated by Spiritrend just now," Yu Yuan said with a sardonic smile.

The fiend remained silent.

Next to him, Elena sported a twisted expression, caught between the urge to laugh and the fear of doing so. She seemed to think that the fiend, hidden deep within Zekrica, wasn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed.

Yu Yuan had been tirelessly concocting venom and nurturing the fiend, yet the fiend still harbored thoughts of using poison against Yu Yuan?

After parting ways with Yu Yuan, the Shura girl had pieced together his history through various means. She came to understand the illustrious life led by Hong Qi, the God of Medicine, three hundred years ago, albeit brief.

She also discovered that Yu Yuan had endured a dark chapter in his life before his demise, a time when he was inextricably linked with various poisons.

"Let's head back to the warship," Yu Yuan suggested with a light huff. As he prepared to leap onto the hovering wrecked warship, his expression abruptly shifted.

Elena and the fiend, now in possession of the Starbeast, also felt something amiss and gazed up in horror.

Three massive beams of light erupted from the wrecked warship, piercing the sky: one gray, one pitch-black, and one dark green.

The beams, thick with the essence of death, destruction, and regeneration, shattered the already cracked wall, reducing it to nothingness in an instant.

The energy emanating from the three beams of light made breathing a struggle for Yu Yuan, Elena, and the fiend within the Starbeast.

The psionic power that once filled the heavens of their little world seemed to be drained away in a mere second by the beams.

Yu Yuan and his companions could no longer sense the slightest trace of psionic power from the surrounding Star River. They were deaf to any sound and could not extend their perception.

The vast Star River, spanning millions of miles, was abruptly void of any force, a vacuum of true nothingness.

Only the three robust, enigmatic beams of light persisted, converging swiftly at the apex of the star river, coalescing into a colossal spirited body resembling a Divine Bird.

The Divine Bird's expansive wings, one gray-white and one black, symbolized death and destruction. Its head and chest, a vibrant dark green, radiated an endless vitality.

As they watched the immense, ethereal Divine Bird slowly materialize in the Kuvrepros, its size defying comprehension, the once significant yellow sun seemed inconsequential by comparison.

Compared to the Divine Bird, the yellow sun seemed nothing more than a tiny, gleaming mud pellet. With a mere flick of its talons, the sun could be snuffed out in an instant.

The Divine Bird soared above, dominating the Kuvrepros as if it were orchestrating the very fabric of the cosmos. Should it unleash its profound meaning of destruction and death, this Astral Domain would be doomed to become the next Annihilation Nebula.

Yu Yuan, Elena, and the fiend gazed up at the heavens, their minds engulfed in chaos.

The moment was fleeting, lasting only about ten seconds.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Three broad beams of magical light cascaded down like a celestial waterfall, the spatial distance between them collapsing by untold magnitudes, before the beams simultaneously penetrated the battered warship.

Caught in what felt like an enchanting and surreal dream, Yu Yuan and his companions were left in a stupor.

It took a considerable time for them to awaken from their trance, exchanging bewildered glances.

After some time, Yu Yuan led the way, ascending cautiously and deliberately back to the cabin, where he found Chen Qinghuang, her brows slightly furrowed, still deep in slumber.

Yu Yuan took a seat across from her, fixating on her with an unwavering gaze, his heart filled with trepidation.

Chen Qinghuang continued to sleep undisturbed.

Eventually, Elena and the fiend, now hosting the Starbeast, joined Yu Yuan in the cabin. They observed the sleeping Chen Qinghuang with a mix of awe and fear, as if she were the most formidable Evil God in existence.

"Uh …"

Elena attempted to speak, but her voice came out strained and her throat felt parched.

Yu Yuan, however, remained silent, his brow furrowed in deep contemplation.

Was this merely happenstance, or had she orchestrated this?

The fiend, now docile, positioned itself at the crystal surface, turning its back to Yu Yuan, Elena, and the Songbird Queen.

His combat strength greatly diminished, the fiend was confronted with a memory that would haunt him forever. His suspicions about Chen Qinghuang were now confirmed; he understood the true nature of the exquisite human girl before him.

But what could he do at this juncture?

He had no choice but to resign himself to fate and yield to Yu Yuan's discretion.

"Cough, cough …"

After a prolonged silence, Yu Yuan cleared his throat with a series of harsh coughs, regaining his composure. "Perhaps it's time we reconsider our plan. Let's forgo our journey to Zekrica and instead make haste towards the Wingkind's Astral Domain with all possible speed."

At his words, the fiend turned back, staring at him with a stunned expression.

Could this young man have figured it out?

"Denise, Pattinson, and those who are loyal to us, including Uncle Gheirat, what about them?" Elena began, her voice trailing off, her heart heavy with reluctance.

"There's no need," Yu Yuan replied, shaking his head with a wry smile. "The miraculous power she displayed will surely alert all the true powerhouses in Kuvrepros. That scene isn't only visible to the three of us."

"Ah! Are you saying?" Elena gasped in surprise.

"Yes," Yu Yuan sighed, "As long as Beru is in Kuvrepros, he'll be able to witness that scene. Xu Jingyao of the Sunlit Order wields the Flame Spear. Even if he can't see it directly, the Divine Artifact will resonate, informing him of what has transpired."

He paused for a few seconds.

"Beru, Leo, and Gheirat, knowing she's in Kuvrepros and in the special phase of transcending to divinity, will certainly drop everything to come. They'll pursue us, pinpointing our current location, rather than hastily heading to Zekrica."

"Xu Jingyao isn't foolish. He'll come to the same conclusion. If he wants to eliminate Leo and Beru, he'll have no choice but to follow them."

"And then there's..."

Yu Yuan's lips curled into a low chuckle. "I have a longstanding feud with the Sunlit Order. Xu Jingyao, being the man he is, must know that I disappeared with her into the Dark Star. Therefore, he's likely aware that I'm probably still with her. In the Everlands, my worth, Yu Yuan's worth, may very well rival that of Leo's."

"After all, I was the one who left the Everlands with two pieces of the Dragon Slaying Stage."

With that, Yu Yuan fell silent.

The fiend, inhabiting the Starbeast and with eyes ablaze with a spectrum of flames, wore an expression of despair. "The Dragon Slaying Stage? Two pieces?"

"What?" Yu Yuan turned to look at him.

"Nothing," the fiend muttered, involuntarily stepping back. His gaze upon Yu Yuan was now akin to the way one might look upon Chen Qinghuang in her slumber.

He had been born long ago, earlier than the Spider Queen and Nie Qingtian, and had delved into the history of the Everlands before them.

How could he not have heard of the dragon slayer from Boulderdawn?

He was truly invincible!

The reason he met his demise was because the Dragon Slaying Stage he wielded was left in the Everlands to suppress the destiny of the entire Naga Tribe, preventing them from rising again and transforming the Everlands.

Had the Dragon Slaying Stage been taken into the extraterrestrial realms, it would have been in his possession upon his return...

The history of the Everlands might have been different, not dominated by the five supreme powers.

Perhaps, Boulderdawn would still be governing the Everlands and dominating the Infinite Galaxy.

The five great supreme forces would then be subservient to Boulderdawn, without the emergence of so many primordial spirits and Dark Deities among them.

"Elena, make full speed towards the Wingkind's Astral Domain!" Yu Yuan commanded.

"Understood!"

"After her exposure, our risk factor skyrocketed a hundredfold." Yu Yuan regained his composure, yet his words sent chills down Elena and the fiend's spines. "Beru, Leo, Gheirat, and the formidable ones from Starborn, as well as champions from other races, might soon be on our trail."

Gazing into the vast Dark Nebula and contemplating the distant Astral Domain of the Wingkind, Yu Yuan felt uncertain.

Chen Qinghuang's emergence had drawn all eyes to her.

The hidden secrets of Zekrica's inhabitants suddenly seemed less pressing. Xu Jingyao and the stealthy Unbound cultivator would likely be close behind.

His predicament had become more challenging than ever before.
