C132 The Seven Divine Sect

Yu Yuan sensed the melancholy emanating from the white paper fan, his mind slowly permeating the essence of the word 'wisdom.'

Boom!

It was as though he had stepped into an entirely unfamiliar realm. The word 'wisdom' had morphed into a dazzling, otherworldly landscape, filled with innumerable streams of black and white light, twisting and turning in the shadowy expanse.

The battle between the white-clad and black-clad boys seemed to have shifted from the external world to an internal one.

Their physical forms were absent, but the entwined black and white lights represented their battling wills and souls, alternating between conflict and harmony.

Yu Yuan's consciousness, having merged with this realm, experienced an unbearable discomfort.

Unable to endure for long and without any insights, he swiftly withdrew from the domain of 'wisdom.'

As his consciousness returned, he gasped for air, beads of sweat forming on his brow.

"Their battle is not yet over. Your hasty intrusion was unwise," Lee Yuchan's icy voice rang out.

Startled, Yu Yuan turned to find her standing nearby, her gaze laden with significance.

"Do you realize what the white-clad and black-clad boys represent?" Yu Yuan asked, his brow furrowed. "I refrained from engaging them because the sword soul I received did not perceive them as foes. I need the sword soul's aid to trigger the prohibitions of this realm."

"Yes, I'm aware," Lee Yuchan acknowledged with a nod. Seemingly reconsidering her stance, she mirrored his posture and sat down beside him. "I've asked others to come and safeguard you, given the substantial toll on your spirit."

"The expenditure was indeed immense," Yu Yuan admitted.

"The white-clad and black-clad boys are fragments of the same soul," Lee Yuchan continued after a brief silence, her voice strained. "They likely belong to a mighty cultivator who perished here, parts of his Yin God that split off after its destruction."

"Yin God?" Yu Yuan exclaimed, taken aback. "Can a Yin God be that formidable?"

"You've missed my point," Lee Yuchan clarified. "That individual's level was certainly beyond the Yin God Stage, possibly at the Yang God or even the Unrestrained Stage. His Yang God must have vanished entirely, but the Yin God wasn't eradicated completely. In true grand cultivators, the Yin God and Yang God can exist independently from their original soul."

"Moreover, the Yin God of a cultivator at the Yang God Stage or the Unrestrained Stage is significantly more powerful than mine."

"Do you understand now?"

Lee Yuchan found Yu Yuan before her quite peculiar.

He seemed well-versed in many aspects of the Heavenly Source Continent and the Quietus Continent, knowledgeable about the so-called Outland Devaputra, and intimately familiar with the secret techniques of various sects.

Yet, why was his understanding of cultivation so muddled?

She was unaware that in his previous life, Yu Yuan had never managed to embark on the path of cultivation.

"So you're saying that the Yin Gods at the Yang God Stage and the Unrestrained Stage are much stronger than a newly ascended Yin God like yourself?" Yu Yuan quickly caught on, scratching his head. "I see. So, with each breakthrough a great cultivator achieves, their Yin God grows in strength as well, right?"

Lee Yuchan nodded in confirmation. "Exactly, and that's why the black and white child spirits that split from that Yin God are so formidable."

"Could it be possible for the Yin God to become whole again after their union?" Yu Yuan inquired.

"To tell you the truth, I'm not entirely certain," Lee Yuchan admitted with a frown. "The black-clothed child has been tainted with too many other elements. In a way, he's lost his purity, or perhaps has become demonized. That's the reason the white-clothed child used the white paper fan to bind him."

After a brief pause, Lee Yuchan continued, "And what about that white paper fan you're holding? What is it exactly?"

Off in the distance, Su Yan of the Su family had ceased her search through the palace ruins, occasionally casting glances in their direction.

Her gaze landed on the white paper fan in Yu Yuan's grasp.

"It came into my possession by chance."

Yu Yuan folded the white paper fan, dismissing the urge to further explore it with his consciousness.

He had an inkling that the clash between the black-clothed child and the white-clothed child would not conclude any time soon.

Once the dust settled, the truth behind the origins of the black and white child spirits might come to light.

"This Demon Core is my gift to you."

A light purple pellet, radiating a rich vitality, spun through the air towards Yu Yuan.

The pellet was luminous, with a swirling mist inside that occasionally emitted a gentle glow, easy on the eyes.

Yu Yuan caught it and looked at Lee Yuchan with astonishment. "Is this what you use to swiftly replenish your Qi and blood in crucial moments?"

Lee Yuchan nodded. "I won't be needing that at the moment."

"Then I'll dispense with the formalities," Yu Yuan said, far from courteous, and inquired, "Do you have anything that benefits the soul?"

Lee Yuchan's expression chilled as he let out a snort. "I've only just ascended to the Yin God Stage. Any pellets I have, I'd need for myself!"

"You get it, right? I might be in greater need than you, because if there's an Alien Soul Evil Spirit you can't handle, it'll be my sword that has to do the job," Yu Yuan said with a smirk.

Lee Yuchan, having lost any desire to continue the conversation, abruptly rose and drifted away.

The cultivators exploring the palace ruins ultimately came up empty-handed. Led by Zhan Tianxiang, they pressed Yu Yuan to move on, not to squander more time in this place.

Curiosity about the origins of the boy in black and the boy in white persisted, but after Yu Yuan indicated his own lack of understanding, the questions ceased.

Yu Yuan resumed his lead, guiding the group toward the Rainier Empire.

The night stretched on, cold and unyielding.

It had been ages since they'd seen another living soul when, in a forbidden zone, they stumbled upon two figures barely clinging to life.

An elder and a youth, their bodies encased in ice, were nearly breathless.

They wore light red capes adorned with seven flames on the chest.

At the sight, Lee Yuchan's face subtly shifted, as if bracing for a formidable adversary.

Lee Yu cried out, "The Seven Divine Sect!"

"The Seven Divine Sect!" echoed the others, their faces registering shock at the name.

Yu Yuan, however, was baffled. He racked his brain but could not place the Seven Divine Sect in either the Heavenly Source Continent or the Quietus Continent.

"The practitioners from the Seven Divine Sect are weak because..."

Zhan Tianxiang peered over them and was the first to draw near, commenting, "Their Spiritual Qi and vitality are nearly depleted. Oddly, they haven't replenished themselves with Spirit Stones or pellets."

"They probably ran out of Spirit Stones and pellets they brought into the forbidden zone," Lee Yuchan added. "Here, the wild and turbulent Spiritual Qi of Heaven and Earth is impossible for them to absorb; it would only make things worse. Out of sheer necessity, they've resorted to a hibernation-like state to preserve their vital energy."

"Yu Yuan, should we save them?" Zhan Tianxiang asked, glancing over. "If we give them some Spirit Stones, they'll gradually regain their strength after absorption."

"What's the origin of the Seven Divine Sect?" inquired Yu Yuan.

"The Seven Divine Sect is one of the sects within the Rainier Empire. It's named as such because it's a formidable sect guarded by seven Yin Gods," Zhan Tianxiang replied, his expression darkening. "They are our adversaries."

"Let's just kill them," suggested Lee Yuchan.

"No, provide them with Spirit Stones to revive them; I need to ask them some questions," Yu Yuan instructed.
