C1368 Nightmare Descends
The Abyssal Leviathan, in its primordial form, had eyes that shone like the sun and moon, making the stars beneath it seem insignificant.
It roamed the void, effortlessly inhaling the chaotic cosmic energy, which transformed an entire expanse of the starry sky into an energy vacuum, creating a void similar to that found in the Brugeth.
Those who could see and sense its power were profoundly shaken.
It was clear to all that such primordial overlords were excessively powerful and should not continue to exist.
Their presence was a blight upon the world's order and the balance of all beings—a synonym for catastrophe!
"Abyssal Leviathan!"
Alonso, wielding his silver lance and traversing the depths of the Spawn of Chaos, let out an involuntary cry of alarm for the first time.
As the grand commander of the Shura, he had been orchestrating his strategies in the shadows, unfazed by the arrival of the Sword Sect's Grand Sword Immortals, Jun Chen, the Death Bird, or even the Ghost King Tian Zang.
He was utterly fearless.
Yet the sudden appearance of the Abyssal Leviathan in its original form, which swiftly obliterated two Frost Stars within the Glimmerdrift Nebula and led to the tragic demise of numerous Shura, truly startled him.
"Youqian!"
Refusing to address Tian Zang by his Everlands name, he thrust his spear at the base of the Blood Altar.
A barrage of silver lightning bolts, accompanied by a thunderous roar, shattered the omnipresent psionic power within the Spawn of Chaos.
Alonso's golden pupils locked with Jun Chen's Divine Visage midair, and golden flames blazed forth within them.
The golden fire spread contagiously, engulfing the swirling sea of stars at the acupoints of Jun Chen's Divine Visage.
He then touched his forehead, where a radiant spark, bearing the imprint of his bloodline rules, cut through the filth of the Spawn of Chaos and reached deep into the Death Crane's demon soul.
Crack!
At the sound of the Blood Altar's base snapping, Alonso advanced with his spear, effortlessly breaking through the multilayered seals of the Tears of the Azurefiend.
"Lollar!" Alonso called out sharply.
In an instant, Lollar, another platinum Shura, and a fleet of Voidfarers were enveloped by a cosmic wall, completing a stellar shift. Seven or eight Voidfarers, along with two platinum Shuras, materialized behind the Abyssal Leviathan.
Cannon fire burst forth from the Voidfarers like a shower of meteors. The tail fins of the Abyssal Leviathan bore the brunt of several hundred meteoric blasts. Lollar and the platinum Shura, wielding their Quasi-sacred Weapons, launched an assault on the ferocious cosmic giant beast.
"Heh!" The Abyssal Leviathan, resembling a massive fish, sneered. A blazing, crimson eyeball, as radiant as the sun, burst from its socket and wreaked havoc among the Voidfarers.
Boom! Boom! Boom! The impact of the eyeball left seven or eight Voidfarers in tatters.
The weaker Shuras, with only seventh or eighth-level bloodlines, whether born in the Dark Realm or beyond, were obliterated in an instant, bursting into a bloody rain. Before even hitting the ground, the blood rain vaporized into a bloody mist, their souls and essence utterly dispersed.
The "scarlet sun," akin to a complete Domain, transformed into a gaunt, blood-soaked elder. The elder's frame dwarfed that of Jun Chen and the Dire Bear, hundreds of times over.
His blood-red hands, dripping with the essence of the sun, spun in the void like grinding wheels, conjuring a bizarre maelstrom of sunfire.
Lollar and the platinum Shura were caught off guard, finding themselves trapped within the vortex. Insignificant as mosquitoes in comparison, they looked up at the elder, locking eyes with his sanguine gaze.
Dizziness struck them instantly, their consciousness blurred, their Shura bloodline suppressed, and their hearts ceased to beat.
Boom! Boom! The bodies of Lollar and the platinum Shura couldn't endure, bursting into glimmers of light.
The elder, bearing a resemblance to the Abyssal Leviathan, licked his lips contentedly and inhaled cruelly. The blood and souls of the two platinum Shuras were drained in a single breath.
Yet, he appeared to crave more...
"Abyssal Leviathan!" Alonso bellowed.
With a whoosh, the crimson, emaciated elder contracted back into the great day, merging once again with the Abyssal Leviathan's eye socket, becoming one with its gaze.
With a roar, the "Dire Bear" guarding Yu Yuan's true form unleashed a crazed bellow as the essence of sword's will permeated its being. Dozens of sword lights burst forth from the expansive River of Swords, each one a shimmering testament to the attack that had shattered Du Yuan's Divine Visage, halting his refinement process.
These sword lights, now more piercing than ever, were imbued with the intricate essence of the sword's will, encapsulating the changing of seasons, the flow of time, the cycle of rebirth, and the resurgence of life.
Du Yuan, Ji Ningshuang, and Yue Mu had ascended from the Frozen World, returning to the vastness of the starry sky. They watched as the sword lights soared from the River of Swords, sweeping over their heads, the profound sword's will stirring complex emotions within them.
These were the legacies of the Sword Sect's venerable sages, collected and amassed by Nie Qingtian. It was as if they could see the Grand Sword Immortals, who would rather consume themselves in flames than see the Sword Sect dimmed, striving to expand the Everlands and secure another Supreme God seat.
They witnessed the fall of countless Grand Sword Immortals and Nie Qingtian's tireless search for them.
Demian, Ciara, and the two platinum Shura who had previously besieged them joined in gazing into the distance. The battle between the two factions had paused, a temporary ceasefire brought on by the emergence of the Abyssal Leviathan and Alonso's command.
"Abyssal Leviathan!" The four Platinum Shura clenched their teeth, their rage burning fiercely.
Lollar had fallen, as had their fellow comrade, along with many followers and descendants who had pledged allegiance to them. They perished in an instant.
The Abyssal Leviathan, having manifested as a gaunt elder, had slain them all with a mere glance. Two entire domains within the Glimmerdrift Nebula had been obliterated, millions of Shura clansmen dying without even a moment to comprehend their fate.
This savage, bloodthirsty cosmic giant beast had become the nightmare etched into the hearts of all. The Abyssal Leviathan had, in a flash, become the embodiment of hatred.
Yet, despite this, it remained untouchable. Its other eye, having assimilated the essence of the cold moon, emitted a chilling light. The fins along its back now resembled a layer of solid ice armor, seemingly unbreakable, possibly even more resilient than the toughest refined iron.
Dozens of sword lights transformed into a dazzling meteor shower, trailing rainbows and etching the wonders of the cosmos.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
The thick ice rock on his fins shattered piece by piece, but with a shake of his beastly form, the fins remained unbroken, each one intact.
A pair of eyes, one crimson and the other silver-white, gazed indifferently at the Dire Bear. "It's a shame you're not a true original giant beast, nor are you a descendant of one. Hence, your bloodline level has never broken through."
The Abyssal Leviathan continued to approach the Dire Bear and the star as it spoke.
"Had you been born in the Everlands, you might have already ascended to a Dark Deity. The Everlands are so unique, a world unto itself that could have allowed you to break free from the constraints of your bloodline. Alas, you weren't born there, and no matter how intelligent, you can't fundamentally transform."
Deep within the Dragon Slaying Stage, Yu Yuan watched the Abyssal Leviathan intently.
Thousands of soul threads departed from the stage, immersing themselves in the River of Swords, sensing the sword's will and the Nine Celestial Slashes.
He understood that his mastery of the Nine Celestial Slashes granted him control over the sword light within.
He could potentially use it to defeat Ciara, Demian, Yue Mu, and Du Yuan, possibly achieving immediate success.
But the Abyssal Leviathan, having returned to the Star River, had grown significantly stronger.
Its size had increased manifold!
This Abyssal Leviathan was now on par with the highest primordial spirits of the Everlands, ranking alongside the Moonfang Tiger and the Kylin, if not slightly superior.
Compared to the Empress of Brugeth, the Voidweaver, and the Blightwood, it was a notch above.
Since Chen Qinghuang had not yet returned to her peak, the Voidweaver's true form had not merged with her soul, and the Blightwood was only beginning to sprout.
Without the Titanblade in hand, given his current realm and strength, even harnessing the sword light from the River of Swords seemed futile against the might of the Abyssal Leviathan.
Meanwhile, the Abyssal Leviathan coveted his Solar Spirit Body!
