C1375 Fighting for Peace
Ji Ningshuang and her two companions were locked in fierce combat with four Platinum Shura in the Frozen World. Deep within the earth, where the rules had shattered, lay a dark red wraith encircled by nine flames, taking on the form of the Nine Glories Wheel. Mo Baichuan was there among them.
As a member of the Everlands' five supreme forces, he naturally should have been close to the three Grand Sword Immortals of the Sword Sect. His intention was to hide and launch a surprise attack on Demian, Ciara, and the other Platinum Shura, to prevent Du Yuan from meeting his demise.
Du Yuan was the most severely injured and the most vulnerable to the Shura's onslaught.
"The Abyssal Leviathan sought me out, proposing an alliance to confront the various powers within the Glimmerdrift Nebula. He's indifferent to the Shura's fate, the Skyreach Consortium, and the Boulderdawn Sect. He's after you..." Mo Baichuan's voice came through, calm and quiet.
Yu Yuan's face remained impassive, though his mind was busy with strategy. The Abyssal Leviathan had indeed never taken a stand. In the Annihilation Nebula, it initially allied with the Skyreach Consortium, enabling Lin Zhuyun to emerge from the depths of the Frozen Hellscape into the Annihilation Nebula. The Consortium had then delivered Lin Zhuyun to him.
Meanwhile, he had been conspiring with Sabonis and the Demon God Grec. Once suppressed by the Dark Phoenix in the Embers Sea, the Abyssal Leviathan now sought, through Mo Baichuan, to strike a secret deal with the five supreme forces, aiming to open the Wintermaw and possess Yu Yuan's body in exchange.
Yu Yuan looked up at the Abyssal Leviathan, whose wounds were multiplying. His gaze was icy as he realized this merciless giant beast was forever self-serving. To the Abyssal Leviathan, humans, demons, or any intelligent life from beyond the stars were all expendable.
"It's odd that Alonso is so fixated on the Dragon Slaying Stage beneath you. Surprisingly, he seems more concerned with that than with the Abyssal Leviathan or the Titanblade."
Mo Baichuan subtly reminded him from the shadows.
"Dragon Slaying Stage?"
Yu Yuan's gaze shifted from the Abyssal Leviathan to the luminous Hex Stone beneath his feet.
Unlike the rest, who could only perceive a murky glow and were blind to the true scene within the Dragon Slaying Stage or the dragon corpses, Yu Yuan caught sight of the violet-gold dragon egg in an instant.
A Titan Spinosaurus hatchling!
A revelation struck Yu Yuan, and he immediately grasped the situation. He realized that the Shura's grand commander was communicating with Blood King Sabonis through the Frost Well.
Why was Sabonis so intent on pouring his vital energy into helping Alonso recover?
Alonso had once scattered golden and silver light throughout the microcosm inside the Dragon Slaying Stage, catching a fleeting glimpse of that violet-gold dragon egg.
In that moment, Alonso's demeanor shifted, his eyes betraying a complex and peculiar light.
Alonso hadn't lived long enough to possibly discern what lay within the violet-gold dragon egg.
But Blood King Sabonis, aged to the point of seeking refuge in the Dark Realm for life's extension, might have sensed that a Titan Spinosaurus was slowly growing inside that egg.
The Titan Spinosaurus once reigned supreme across the cosmos, instilling fear in all creatures!
Had the Titan Spinosaurus not been slain by other behemoths, the new era might never have dawned, and the emergence of the Sky Fiend, Shura, Starborn, Dawnbringers, and Shadowkin, who later rose to prominence in the Infinite Galaxy, might not have occurred.
Without the fall of the Titan Spinosaurus, there would be no birth of ancient evilkind, no flourishing of the dragon race, no ascent of humanity!
This king among behemoths was a true outlier in the universe, an enigma of the divine!
Now, the Abyssal Leviathan, besieged by the Heaven-Opening Sword Array and the Nine Celestial Slashes, clearly wasn't in the same league as the once-dominant king of beasts.
"Could it be that Alonso and Sabonis are plotting to seize that hatchling?"
As Yu Yuan inhaled the icy cosmic energy, pondering the situation, he noticed the Snow Bear, his steadfast ally, approaching with a jovial grin.
It hovered alongside the Dragon Slaying Stage. Its arrival caused the cold fog, which had been swirling around the River of Swords, to surge toward the world known as Wintermaw, mending the wall that had been torn asunder by the Abyssal Leviathan. In a brief span of time, the icy wall once again enveloped the chilly star.
"Alonso and the Blood King, Sabonis, might make a move against us," Yu Yuan said with a moment's hesitation, standing atop the Dragon Slaying Stage and addressing the creature before him.
The Dire Bear's massive, mountainous frame seemed slightly rigid, betraying a hint of disbelief at Yu Yuan's words. It cast a questioning look toward Alonso, who was on the opposite side.
Alonso had been intently watching the Dragon Slaying Stage and had certainly noticed its arrival and the bear's gaze. Alonso, with his handsome and delicate features, now appeared surprisingly muscular, his physique brimming with a disconcerting explosive power, as though he had transformed into someone else entirely.
He offered a slight smile and bowed respectfully to the Dire Bear, maintaining his humble demeanor.
The Dire Bear's large eyes were rife with confusion and puzzlement. Alonso's behavior seemed flawless, which only deepened its suspicions...
The bear considered that Yu Yuan, wielding the Heaven-Opening Sword Array, had assisted the Shura in trapping the Abyssal Leviathan, saving many realms within the Glimmerdrift Nebula from destruction. And Yu Yuan was still by its side. Surely, if Alonso and Sabonis were in communication, the Shura King would be inclined to honor past connections.
The intelligent creature struggled to find a compelling reason why Alonso and the Blood King would need to target it and Yu Yuan. Thus, it found Yu Yuan's words hard to believe.
Yu Yuan let out a silent sigh.
Alonso had glimpsed a young Titan Spinosaurus growing within the violet-gold dragon egg, but the bear had not. Consequently, it could not fathom why Blood King Sabonis and Alonso would go to any lengths for the offspring of a giant beast.
"Here!" Yu Yuan pointed at the Dragon Slaying Stage, his expression grave. "Within lies something that Sabonis and Alonso desperately desire! Its worth surpasses that of the entire Glimmerdrift Nebula, even more than the life or death of the Abyssal Leviathan! And it is certainly more valuable than Wintermaw itself!"
"The Blood King might risk everything for what's inside!"
"Do you understand?"
"Wuu! Wuu!"
The Dire Bear whimpered softly and lowered its head toward the Dragon Slaying Stage.
Regrettably, it saw nothing.
Its memories held traces of Yu Yuan's first life and the Dragon Slaying Stage.
It knew there were giant dragon corpses inside. Was the Shura's greed focused on those? Wasn't the Abyssal Leviathan's worth comparable to that of a Dragon God?
"It's not what you're thinking!" Yu Yuan exclaimed.
Swoosh!
A rare stone burst forth from the simulated blue depths of the extraterrestrial sea, mimicking the Embers Sea.
The stone, small like a shattered star, glowed with a bright light.
The Ghoul King's face emerged within the stone, his expression one of bitter misery as he looked at Yu Yuan on the Dragon Slaying Stage and above at his master, besieged by the Heaven-Opening Sword Array. "Why bring us both to ruin? You can't kill my master; you'll only manage to wound him severely."
The Ghoul King was seeking peace!
Lin Zhuyun was absent from the depths of the stone, wisely concealed to avoid detection by Yu Yuan, which would be counterproductive.
"Is this your idea, or his?" Yu Yuan scoffed, looking up at the giant beast still shedding blood. "What? Has he learned to feel pain and fear now?"
"Han Miaoyuan might be on his way. He doesn't want to face the Banner of Duality after a severe injury, nor does he wish to be suppressed in the Everlands once more," the Ghoul King lamented.
"Han Miaoyuan! The Banner of Duality!"
Yu Yuan's form shook, and the Dire Bear let out a low growl.
"The Glimmerdrift Nebula is adjacent to the Silver Sands. This great disturbance is bound to catch his attention."
The Ghoul King nodded gently. "The main issue is that my master has been trapped within the Heaven-Opening Sword Array for far too long. Moreover, Han Miaoyuan played a significant role in the sword array's creation. As long as he remains in the Silver Sands, he will inevitably sense the anomaly here sooner or later."
After his declaration, the Ghoul King turned his gaze towards Jun Chen, along with the Death Crane and Tian Zang.
"Should the Banner of Duality make its appearance, none present here will escape unscathed."
