C1392 The Situation Is Good

The snow bear hovered above the Dragon Slaying Stage, drawing in the cold fog to aid in the descent of the Wintermaw into the crystalline earth. As the Wintermaw touched down, the cold fog it generated naturally blended with the boneyard of the frost wyrm, enhancing the Dragon Slaying Stage and enabling it to accumulate more psionic power. Yet, in this moment, a tinge of melancholy colored its demeanor.

The fate of the Glimmerdrift Nebula was sealed; its demise was now inevitable. The Astral Domain it had guarded for so long, filled with countless memories, was losing its River of Swords and the Wintermaw. The ice energy that had flowed for years would also fade away. The desire to gather the cold fog again had vanished.

It sensed that a portion of the cold fog, the very root of the Way of Heaven in the Glimmerdrift Nebula, had been purified by Ji Ningshuang and infused into the Stardust sword's will, eradicating the lingering malady of the Earth-Tethered Cage. Meanwhile, the cold fog that had seeped into the Dragon Slaying Stage was being dissolved by the wonders of that world, severing its connection.

Before it completely lost touch, it inadvertently heard a robust heartbeat. The heartbeat emanated from the young Titan Spinosaurus within the violet gold dragon egg! Then, like Alonso, it felt a surge of repressed sensation deep within its bloodline.

Before the cold fog could fully disperse, it seized the moment to glance at the dragon egg... Instantly, it understood why Alonso and Sabonis had defied it, choosing to confine it with the Earth-Tethered Cage and covet the Dragon Slaying Stage controlled by Yu Yuan. The Titan Spinosaurus hatchling had been incubated on the Dragon Slaying Stage by Yu Yuan and had already completed its initial growth phase!

What it once thought was a life nearing meaninglessness was now reignited with a glimmer of hope. With a thunderous roar, it transformed into a lance of white lightning, racing towards the disintegrating crescent moon.

It was determined to use the crescent of the Glimmerdrift Nebula and its lifeblood, in conjunction with the mystical powers of Yu Yuan and the Dragon Slaying Stage, to nurture a brand-new being. As the Glimmerdrift Nebula faced destruction, it believed its arrangements had lost all purpose.

It had come to realize that the Dragon Slaying Stage might serve as a suitable substitute for the Glimmerdrift Nebula, capable of encompassing the essence of the Wintermaw and the Moon Soul.

With a drop of its lifeblood, it could give rise to a lifeform deeply connected to itself, a being that would consider it the progenitor!

It had spent its entire existence, countless millennia, unable to take that final step. Perhaps the creature it would create could succeed where it had not!

At last, it had rediscovered its purpose in life!

Whoosh!

A dense, dark coldness seeped from the crystal ball, enveloping the fleeing Alonso in its embrace, carrying him off like a fragment of the World of Darkness drifting into the distance.

Alonso was headed toward the chaos unleashed by the Abyssal Leviathan.

The collapse of numerous Domain stars and the rending of the wall meant Alonso could no longer use the bloodline mysteries to travel instantly to a distant wall of stars via the crystal ball.

Now, he had to draw upon the divine power of his golden blood to unleash the ice energy within the crystal ball.

Relying on the chilling psionic power from the Dark Realm, he managed to slightly bolster his strength. Even as Jun Chen, the Death Crane, Mo Baichuan, Tian Zang, and Yu Yuan assailed him, he hurtled through the shattered cosmos, marked by space rifts, his flesh scattering in his wake.

Jun Chen and the others pursued him doggedly, sending streams of starlight, torrents of flame, and surges of deathly energy into the darkness.

They themselves remained outside the darkness, launching their attacks from its periphery, maintaining a prudent distance from Alonso.

Whoosh!

Yu Yuan, wielding the Baneblade, paused mid-journey.

Alonso had lost the will to continue the fight; his schemes within the Glimmerdrift Nebula had utterly collapsed.

It was a rare sight indeed to see a tenth-level Golden Shura meet such a fate.

The Solar Spirit and the main body could exchange thoughts instantaneously within the Star River. With a mere thought, he could utilize the wondrous power of the Dragon Slaying Stage to arrive there in an instant.

Yet he was aware that the current situation was favorable; the Wintermaw was aiding the Dragon Slaying Stage in mending its internal fractures.

His Solar Spirit's return was unnecessary.

During their escape, Jun Chen, Tian Zang, Mo Baichuan, Zhou You, and Alonso were constantly getting injured.

His involvement in the fight had only succeeded in inflicting a few more wounds on Alonso.

Despite possessing the might of a Monster Lord and the ability to switch between the Shura and the Silverscale Tribe, he couldn't deliver a fatal blow or ensure Alonso's tragic demise.

With that in mind...

He lifted his gaze to the area thick with cold fog, smiled faintly, and drifted into it.

In the midst of the dense fog, Ji Ningshuang sat suspended in the air, the snow-white blade of her Stardust Blade resting on her knees. Her scabbard behind her was drawing in the ice energy of the surroundings.

The ice energy flowed into the scabbard, reaching her Golden Sanctum's little world, permeating her limbs and bones.

Then, purified by her sword light, it would act upon her heart.

Yu Yuan narrowed his eyes and saw that the fragile golden light and silver threads in her shattered heart had been mostly cleared away.

"There's something he didn't anticipate."

Ji Ningshuang's eyes flickered open, a radiant light sparkling within. A serene smile graced her delicate features. "He didn't foresee that you would completely obliterate the Earth-Tethered Cage."

Yu Yuan responded with a smile and a nod.

"Had the Earth-Tethered Cage remained intact, the golden lightning and silver threads invading my heart would've continued to cause me harm, as the cage could constantly supply power. By the time I would've broken free from the Glimmerdrift Nebula, my heart would've been damaged beyond repair. I might have even had to forsake my corporeal body..."

Ji Ningshuang's expression was one of grateful relief. "But since the Earth-Tethered Cage is destroyed, the golden lightning and silver threads can no longer grow stronger. So with each bit that's eradicated, I find more relief."

"I owe a debt of gratitude to that Dire Bear. The cold fog it summoned was transformed by my 'Stardust' sword light, effectively neutralizing the residual power of the Earth-Tethered Cage."

Her recovery was clearly just a matter of time.

"Your Solar Spirit..."

She appeared slightly surprised, examining Yu Yuan from all angles and clicking her tongue in amazement.

"I have not let you down. I've stripped that enigmatic object tied to the Everlands and cast it into the Dragon Slaying Stage," Yu Yuan said with a smile.

"I just witnessed it," Ji Ningshuang murmured, her lips curling slightly. "I knew this would be the outcome."

"How could you have known?" Yu Yuan asked, taken aback.

"Because you've never let me down. You've always made grand promises in the past, and yet, you've consistently produced miraculous pills that lived up to your words."

As she spoke, a special glow radiated from her face. "Back then, you were a pill refiner. Now, as a cultivator, your combat prowess is just as remarkable as those pills you once crafted."

Yu Yuan burst into laughter, approached her, and sat down cross-legged in imitation of her.

The destruction of the Glimmerdrift Nebula was at its midpoint. The few remaining stars that hadn't yet perished signaled the irreversible death of this region, beyond anyone's power to change.

Having secured the Wintermaw, Yu Yuan was now indifferent to the fate of this place.

He and Ji Ningshuang sat deep within the cold fog, in a place hidden from sight and perception, engaging in a deep conversation.

Time seemed to stand still, losing all significance.

How much time had passed was anyone's guess.

"Your senior brother, he had his reasons. He never intended to kill you..."

Ji Ningshuang suddenly interjected, her gaze turning complex. "I've sought him out several times. In our initial encounters, he was stronger than me."

"He could have easily killed me, and given his esteemed status as the God of Medicine, coupled with my instigation, the Sword Sect would have had no grounds to hold him accountable."

"But he refrained. He consistently avoided confrontation and never struck back."

"Later, as I advanced to the Unbound Realm and my Stardust Blade grew increasingly formidable, he struggled to keep up. It was only after growing weary of my persistence that he revealed you were still among the living, giving me hope and a reason to wait patiently."

"He was convinced that a miracle would happen, the day you would come back!"

"The Rebirth Pill definitely had issues, and yes, it was his creation. But it seems like he already knew the risks involved—that you might be reborn with complications or that someone would take you out."

Ji Ningshuang paused in her explanation.
