C1409 The Changes in Everlands!
"Everlands..."
Yu Yuan, accompanied by Ann Ziqing and Canli, emerged in the Nest of Perdition and took a deep breath, his face awash with emotion.
He couldn't recall how long it had been since he left this world.
Initially, he had transported two segments of the Dragon Slaying Stage and unexpectedly found himself in the Nirvana Realm through the Domain Channel of the Moonfall Sanctuary.
Subsequent complex and perilous circumstances had prevented him from tracking the passage of time.
Moreover, in many realms, there was no cycle of sun and moon.
He estimated that several decades had slipped by in what seemed like a moment.
When he departed, Everlands was in turmoil, and the situation was unclear.
The leaders of Boulderdawn and the Merchant Union had not yet reached an accord with the five Supreme Beings.
Had he remained in Everlands, his safety would have been at risk, but now the situation had changed.
The two factions of Everlands had an unspoken agreement to avoid internal conflict.
Instead, they had shifted the battlefield to extraterrestrial locations because Yu Yuan had successfully extracted the precious "Wintermaw" from the Dragon Slaying Stage within the Glimmerdrift Nebula. In a short time, he had become highly sought after, and even the five dominant forces would not dare to cross him.
Now he could traverse the various lands of Everlands openly, no longer needing to skulk in the shadows.
"Greetings, Mr. Yu."
Ho Zhan approached with a sincere smile. "Your exploits in the Hellmouth and throughout Everlands have reached my ears. Honestly, we take great pride in you!"
The others joined in with their own effusive praise, each speaking with heartfelt sincerity.
They all recognized that the "Wintermaw," integral to the Everlands, had been preserved thanks to Yu Yuan, preventing the realm from falling into a defensive position.
The preservation of the "Wintermaw" had turned Yu Yuan into a hero.
"There's no need for formalities."
Yu Yuan smiled, his consciousness stirring slightly as he turned his gaze toward a location a hundred miles away.
A boundless and immeasurable surge of vital energy, vast and unfathomable as the deep sea, emanated from a mountain peak a hundred miles distant.
The magnitude and intensity of this vital energy were unlike anything he had ever encountered in his life!
The Solar Spirit within his realm of vitality was abruptly awakened, aiding him in a sensation that nearly caused the hairs on his real body to stand on end.
"This is..."
Not even the Great Demon God Grec or the Shadowkin's Brie possessed such an astonishing amount of vital energy.
"Did you sense Lord Untamed?"
Ann Ziqing's keen intuition allowed her to discern the truth from the slightest change in his expression. She whispered, "In the Everlands, Lord Untamed's combat prowess is beyond our wildest dreams. His independence from Shadow's Keep and his own domain in the Marsh are testaments to his formidable strength."
"The Astral Tiger from Shadow's Keep, the Kylin, and even those past Dark Deities are merely his descendants."
After a brief pause, Ann Ziqing lowered her voice further, adding, "Apart from the Supreme of Shadow's Keep, I doubt there's any other being in the Everlands who can match Lord Untamed in lineage or demon energy."
"Alright then..."
With a graceful wave of her hand, she made her way to the teleportation circle adjacent to the Nest of Perdition. "I'm off to Colddeath first. Once I've assessed the situation, I'll return for you."
In the Marsh, a teleportation circle already existed, providing access to the Moonfall Sanctuary and a connection to the Land of Quiescence.
As a priestess of Colddeath, she had the privilege to use it freely, opting to depart via the rune circle.
"So, it was the Untamed."
Yu Yuan was no longer surprised.
Having heard countless tales of the Untamed in his past life as Hong Qi and now as Yu Yuan, he was well aware of the Ape's exalted status among the evilkind of the Everlands.
His conjecture led him to believe that the Dark Phoenix... was not an indigenous archdemon of the Everlands.
Untamed could very well be the oldest and mightiest evilkind in existence!
As he pondered, the overwhelming vital energy that had stunned him vanished without a trace.
He instantly realized that the legendary Ape had deliberately concealed its presence.
"Ah!"
At his chest acupoint, the Dragon Slaying Stage burst forth with a mysterious and vibrant glow. The light, a kaleidoscope of colors, was resplendent to the extreme.
It was enigmatic and ancient, seemingly emanating from the primordial blood essence that originated at the dawn of chaos.
The young Titan Spinosaurus, slumbering within the violet gold dragon egg, felt its myriad bloodline streams surge with life, invigorated manyfold in an instant.
With a whoosh, he summoned the Dragon Slaying Stage, which took the form of a long strip and landed in his hand. In a flash, the enigmatic stage unleashed a surge of psionic power that startled the entirety of the Everlands. The Dragon Slaying Stage then gently descended from his grasp, coming to rest in the Godsblight Marsh.
"Dragon Slaying Stage!" Ho Zhan and the nearby archdemon whispered in awe.
The fearsome demon energy that Lord Untamed had just hidden seemed to burst forth anew with the emergence of the Dragon Slaying Stage. The heavens above the Marsh were suddenly infused with thick, water-like demon energy, creating a shield that instantly isolated the area from the prying eyes of the outside world.
Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle! An endless array of beams, ghostly glows, lightning arcs, and liquid-like auroras burst forth from the Dragon Slaying Stage, dazzling and captivating as they penetrated the earth. Within a single breath, they had spread through the subterranean veins across the Everlands.
Boom, boom, boom! The ground beneath the Marsh, the Moonfall Sanctuary, the Forgotten Ruins, and even parts of the Euwrea and the Land of Quiescence shook with astonishing tremors, accompanied by faint cracking sounds. It was as though some secret cosmic balance had been quietly shattered...
Invisible chains and cages were ripped asunder due to Yu Yuan's return, the summoning of the Dragon Slaying Stage, and the arrival of the young Titan Spinosaurus. The fabric of the Everlands' void wall cracked like an eggshell under forceful impact. Waves of color emanated from the wall, painting the sky of the Everlands in a surreal, multicolored tapestry.
This spectacle astonished the inhabitants of the Everlands, prompting countless onlookers to gaze skyward, marveling at the sight. Yet, the Mighty, who felt the shift in the air, were utterly astounded.
The Ebon Star, Sword Sect, Sunlit Order, Shadow's Keep, Devil Palace, and many other ancient sects saw their sacred and secret sites manifest in response. It was clear to many that at this moment, the Everlands were on the cusp of a monumental transformation.
A barefooted Ape, clad in sackcloth and tied with a hemp rope, arrived quietly, smoke tube in hand. He furrowed his brow, fixated on the Dragon Slaying Stage.
"Lord Untamed!" "Lord Untamed!" Ho Zhan, Ann Ziqing, and those from the Chamber of Commerce and Boulderdawn bowed deeply with reverence.
"Young Yu Yuan, I greet you, Lord Untamed!"
Yu Yuan quickly bowed in respect, but after a brief glance at the Untamed God, his gaze returned to the Dragon Slaying Stage.
The juvenile creature on the stage seemed to forge a mysterious connection with the destiny of the entire Everlands in an instant.
It hadn't awakened yet, but its mere presence had already rewritten the existing rules...
"Do you realize what you've done?"
The Ape, with his bare feet, alternated his gaze between the Dragon Slaying Stage and Yu Yuan, his expression a mix of bewilderment and awe. "Someone went to great lengths to dethrone the Nagas. The Dragon Slaying Stage was created to suppress the Nagas, to ensure they would never rise again. But just now, in the moment of your return..."
"The established rules have been overturned, shattered by your hand."
With those words, and without waiting for Yu Yuan to explain, the Untamed God vanished, leaving no trace of his presence or demon energy in the Marsh.
"Shattered?"
Yu Yuan was taken aback.
Ann Ziqing was equally perplexed. "What does Lord Untamed mean? I can't make heads or tails of it."
Conversely, Canli, the saintess of the Dawnbringers who had traveled with them from Greenshadow, had a contemplative look in her eyes. She seemed to be piecing together the Untamed God's cryptic message. "It appears that Untamed is suggesting the Everlands' laws that once suppressed the destiny of the Nagas no longer exist."
"What?!"
All the archdemons and those nearby stood frozen in shock.
How could this be?
The primary purpose of the Dragon Slaying Stage was to suppress the fortune of the Nagas, preventing the birth of another Dragon God!
This was to ensure that humans and the ancient evilkind would forever reign supreme in the Everlands!
Indeed, the Nagas had not seen the rise of a new Dragon God, rendering them unable to challenge the five highest powers.
Yet, with the resurgence of Boulderdawn, those privy to the secrets of the past were beginning to grasp the sheer might and terror that once defined the Nagas.
In their heyday, the Nagas boasted five Dragon Gods and numerous ninth-level giant dragons, far outnumbering the combined forces of ninth-level archdemons, Dark Deities, and evilkind.
Therefore, the so-called ancient evilkind would steer clear of the dragons at the mere sight of them.
The Supreme of Shadow's Keep, in times past, could only bow to the Nagas.
Such a mighty Dragon Clan had been oppressed by the Dragon Slaying Stage for tens of thousands of years, never able to lift their heads.
But now, with Yu Yuan's return and his summoning of the Dragon Slaying Stage, could the dragons truly turn the tide?
"What have I done?"
Yu Yuan was thunderstruck, instantly perceiving the young Titan Spinosaurus within the violet-gold dragon egg, brimming with excitement and jubilation. It seemed as though even the young creature's blood was rejoicing.
It celebrated its arrival in the Everlands, in this Central World that was both unfamiliar and yet profoundly known.
A realm forged by its father, the Old Titan Spinosaurus!
Swoosh!
Yu Yuan's Lunar Spirit detached from his body and ventured into the Dragon Slaying Stage. He observed the young beast within the violet-gold dragon egg, its blood surging with the vigor of a giant beast. "Was it your doing? Did your arrival alter the fate of the dragons in the Everlands?"
The Titan Spinosaurus's offspring conveyed a very clear remnant soul, explaining the cause.
He meditated on this revelation.
After what seemed like an eternity, Yu Yuan regained his composure, his face etched with bewilderment. He murmured softly, "Can you truly command all dragons? Can you indeed lead the Dragon Clan of the Everlands?"
The young creature inside the violet-gold dragon egg responded affirmatively, assuring him that it was so.
