C1424 A Hundred Ways to Go
The Wintermaw, shaped like a well, hovered above the pit without descending.
It didn't pierce into the depths to sift through the mixed psionic powers within, nor did it clear the so-called obstructions with the might of the Wintermaw.
Only a radiant silver light emanated from the Wintermaw, spilling into one of the seven pits.
Crackle!
In the depths of the pit, a tiny flame sparked to life, and numerous beams of light, foreign to the Wintermaw and yanked from the interspatial layers, darted chaotically within.
Simultaneously, the other six pits, overseen by the Untamed, Shadow's Keep, Devil Palace, Sunlit Order, and Ebon Star, along with President Lyi, erupted with pure and robust ice energy.
This surge of ice energy was a 'delicious' sensation to Yu Yuan's Lunar Spirit, clearly beneficial to his soul.
Included was the rich yin energy he had once encountered in the Land of Terror.
The combination of yin energy and ice energy transformed into a frigid aura, a substantial nourishment for all the ghosts and spirits in the Everlands.
As the six streams of ice energy burst forth, the auras of the primordial spirits and Dark Deities Yu Yuan had sensed upon arrival receded completely.
The highest beings of the Devil Palace, Shadow's Keep, Sunlit Order, Ebon Star, and the Sunlit Order seemed to have formed an unspoken pact at that moment.
They concealed their presence, and their spirits and thoughts vanished as much as possible, not to disturb Yu Yuan.
They did this to avoid causing Yu Yuan concern, allowing him to act without restraint...
They were paving the way for his convenience!
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Six streams of chilling energy burst from the six enigmatic pits, their white hue speckled with tiny emerald glows, exuding an air of mystery.
The cold energy naturally converged towards the suspended Wintermaw, integrating into the Ice Shards within the crystal wall.
The Ice Shards, which constituted the Wintermaw's entrance, were replenished with ice energy, and the secret glyphs within, once fractured, were quietly restored.
This was not the doing of those supreme beings; it was not their handiwork.
At the base of the Frozen Hellscape, the seven enigmatic pits possessed a remarkable self-repairing capability!
Yu Yuan's eyes shone with intrigue as he quickly surmised that the seven pits, buried deep within the abyss, likely formed an arcane array beyond his comprehension—an array with the power to mend itself.
Despite the Frost Star's detonation and the collapse akin to an Extreme Cold Array, the Wintermaw he retrieved from the extraterrestrial realm was somewhat damaged.
Thankfully, the damage was minimal.
Provided the Wintermaw did not shatter into a blizzard of ice shards, it could be unearthed and transported back to the vast Frozen Hellscape of the Everlands. There, the chilling psionic power emanating from the other pits would reforge it, repairing any imperfections and restoring its functionality.
Within this psionic power flowed a potent Yin Qi originating from the Root of the Lunar Meridian.
This indicated that...
The formation of the Frozen Hellscape and the creation of the seven mysterious pits were influenced by the Root of the Lunar Meridian!
With this realization, Yu Yuan sensed a tributary of the Lunar Meridian beneath the depths of the Wintermaw, leading towards the heart of the Everlands.
Yu Yuan had an epiphany.
In ancient times, when the Earthcore Flame blazed fiercely in the Everlands, the Chronowyrm and the frost wyrm—two divine Dragon Gods—collaborated to carve out seven pits and forge the Wintermaw, aiming to maintain the balance of Yin and Yang. Their actions were intended to benefit the Nagas, but also the Everlands and all its inhabitants.
Given that the Root of the Lunar Meridian was entrenched here, it certainly did not desire the destruction of this world and must have lent its unseen support.
A branch of the Lunar Meridian reached out, spreading its consciousness, and as a result, the Yin Qi in the Frozen Hellscape was more concentrated than in other regions of the Everlands—surpassed only by the Land of Terror.
Its source lay deep beneath the Land of Terror, yet an essential branch had long since reached this place, quietly overseeing the seven pits...
"Ice energy, Yin Qi, Yin cold psionic power, spiritual energy!"
With a subtle lift of his brows, Yu Yuan's real body gracefully entered the Wintermaw.
Standing in the heart of the Wintermaw, he felt the intense ice energy enveloping him and cracked a sly grin.
"I've fought tooth and nail to preserve the Wintermaw from the Glimmerdrift Nebula and brought it back to the Everlands. I've earned both the credit and the hardship, haven't I? So, it's only fair that I reap some rewards from restoring the Wintermaw's icy psionic power!"
Though he was speaking to himself, he was confident that someone out there could hear him, someone who would understand.
Whoosh!
His Lunar Spirit stealthily departed, immersing itself in the six streams of chilling psionic power that surged in from the extraterrestrial realm, siphoning off strands of pure shadow energy.
The shadow energy, a byproduct of the Lunar Meridian, was an exceptional rare treasure for nourishing ghosts and souls. As it merged with his Lunar Spirit, it was like a refreshing downpour, leaving him feeling utterly at ease.
Moreover, a mix of psionic power, combining cold air and shadow energy, was activated by his acupoint and directed toward his chest.
"Time to attempt opening a new acupoint!"
Sensing the tremors within several acupoints, Yu Yuan's eyes sparkled with anticipation.
He stilled his mind, positioned at the Wintermaw, channeling both his Lunar Spirit and his real body to harness the strange power emanating from the other six openings to mend the Wintermaw's icy Yin force.
He was acutely aware that missing this chance meant there wouldn't be another; this was an opportunity of a lifetime!
Whether it was the Root of the Lunar Meridian or the highest powers of the Everlands, they were all eager to witness his restoration of the Wintermaw.
Next, he planned to utilize the snow bear's innate theurgy to locate a new Frostfell domain, establishing a link with the obstructed hole below.
This would allow the hole to draw ice energy from the newfound Frostfell, stockpiling it for the stability of the Everlands.
He was secure until the Wintermaw was properly positioned. As long as he didn't cause too much of a stir, the five supreme forces would turn a blind eye.
Not to mention, the Boulderdawn and other organizations wouldn't dare constrain him.
With such an advantage at hand, he certainly wasn't going to pass it up.
He harnessed a portion of the chilling psionic power and concentrated on enhancing his Lunar Spirit to breach a new acupoint.
Hmm!
Half an hour later, he was taken aback to discover that the Dragon Slaying Stage, concealed within his Shenque acupoint, seemed to have been drawn out.
The Dragon Slaying Stage hovered in his chest cavity, emitting a seven-colored divine glow and casting colorful ripples.
This seven-colored energy, brimming with space magic, carried the dragon's breath of the Chronowyrm.
Colorful ripples of light cascaded from the Dragon Slaying Stage onto the walls of the Wintermaw.
Subsequently, at the bottom of this peculiar shaft, numerous seven-colored threads began to form and gently fall.
They descended into the cavern, where the interior was blocked, congested, and psionic power flowed chaotically.
The severed lines between the two appeared to be reestablishing their connection.
"This..."
Yu Yuan narrowed his eyes, observing intently for a moment before quickly realizing that the Wintermaw and the cavern below had been linked by lines of space magic.
Regardless of the Wintermaw's location, these seven-colored strands and the cavern would always maintain their connection.
This explained why the Wintermaw, situated within the Glimmerdrift Nebula, could continually channel ice energy into this cavern.
The colorful strands, infused with space magic, served as the conduit between them.
However, following the demise of the Glimmerdrift Nebula and the subsequent shattering of the star, many of the spatial color lines connecting the Wintermaw to the cavern below were likely severed.
The psionic power emerging from the six holes could only mend the Wintermaw's own fractures.
The color lines, created by space magic, could not be reconnected by the holes or the Root of the Lunar Meridian.
To restore the Spatial Color Strings, one would need to be a cultivator of the primordial spirit level, like the former God-King Jihui.
Or perhaps a tenth-level Chronowyrm.
In this age, the Everlands lacked such beings, so these color lines were thought to be irreparable.
Yet within the Dragon Slaying Stage he wielded, lay the entombed Seven-Colored Dragon God. The Dragon God's power, largely preserved within the Dragon Slaying Stage, was accessible to him as its master, allowing him to summon the remnants of the Dragon God's might left in this world.
Therefore, the key to restoring Wintermaw lay within himself!
Only his Dragon Slaying Stage had the power to return Wintermaw to its pristine condition. That's why the five supreme powers would turn a blind eye to his wanton behavior in the Everlands.
Wintermaw was his ultimate safeguard!
