C1451 The Current Legend!

Thousands of years ago, there was the Ghost King Youling; seven hundred years ago, the Evil King Yu Xi; and in the present day, the Ghost King known as White Bone.

Remarkably, these three entities were one and the same—a living myth!

The moment the bone, as radiant as polished jade, touched the ground, it transformed into a tall, striking man with a carefree aura and an air of arrogance.

This human form of White Bone was the spitting image of the Ghost King Youling that Yu Yuan had encountered in the Styx within Horror Land. Having ascended to Ghost King status, he exuded an aura of mystery and novelty, with streams of Yin Meridians flowing like rivulets within his new form.

His body bore no scent of blood or flesh. Beneath his ashen-white skin pulsed the essence of the Yin Sunflower, his Yin Meridians serving as his very veins!

At his sudden appearance, Evil Peak and the numerous Evil Demons comprising the Myriad Demon Array hundreds of miles away hastily withdrew into the depths of their formation, seemingly too intimidated to reveal themselves.

Whether demon or ghost, any soul-form entity was innately suppressed by his presence.

Elsewhere, all the experts of the Fiend Sect, who had been compelled to evacuate Evil Peak and return to their own territory, sensed an immense will—vast as the ocean—emerge high above their lands, gazing indifferently upon the earth below.

The hearts of the Fiend Sect's experts, who had reached the Yang God level, trembled with the foreboding sense of an impending catastrophe.

Upon encountering this overwhelming will, the current sect master of the Fiend Sect immediately sought refuge within the Evil Bead, too fearful to reveal himself or even let out a breath, lest he become a target.

In the desert, White Bone's mouth curled into a smirk as he spoke to himself, "As always, they only dare to scheme from the shadows."

He shook his head, "Under your leadership, the Fiend Sect will never rise to the status of an upper sect, forever unable to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Red Devil Sect."

He was referring to Yun Hao.

While his soliloquy went unheard by most, many of the Yang cultivators within the Fiend Sect caught every word with crystal clarity.

"Who's there?"

"Who's whispering in my ear? And who is the person he's speaking of?"

In the secret chambers of the Fiend Sect, many cultivators opened their eyes, their expressions subtly shifting.

Among them was an elderly woman with white hair. After discerning the voice for quite some time, she found herself trembling and kneeling within her sealed chamber.

Pressing her forehead to the ground, she spoke with a quivering voice, "Is it really you? Are you the one... watching over this land that once flourished because of you?" The old woman murmured, tears in her voice, softly speaking her thoughts.

Yu Yuan, observing the unusual reactions of numerous Yang Gods within the Fiend Sect from the Dragon Slash Platform, gazed upon the tall and handsome forebear of the Yu family. Contemplating the myriad legends surrounding this figure, Yu Yuan was unsure of the proper way to address him.

Thousands of years ago, Ghost King Youling, a contemporary of Mingdu, realized that Horror Land at the time lacked the conditions necessary for one to become a ghost, and thus he chose to be reborn as a human.

Following that, the Fiend Sect witnessed the rise of its most powerful Evil King in history!

Evil King Yu Xi reached the Primordial Spirit level but was betrayed and ambushed by foreign forces, meeting his end in the Outland Star River.

The one alleged to have disclosed his location was his own direct disciple, the current leader of the Fiend Sect—Yun Hao.

Yet, Yu Yuan faintly recalled hearing that Yun Hao was merely a pawn, manipulated by others...

With a start, Yu Yuan's Yin God ventured forth from the Dragon Slash Platform for the first time, materializing as a spectral figure upon the luminescent stage.

He had the audacity to leave the Dragon Slash Platform in his Yin God form because the white bone had arrived. With the presence of the white bone, of ghostly caliber, he was confident that no entity could destroy him in an instant.

The presence of the white bone bolstered his courage to step away from the Dragon Slash Platform, instilling him with newfound confidence.

The next moment, he sensed an immense, oceanic surge of Yin energy emanating from the white bone.

Confronting the white bone, his Yin God felt as though it was facing the very source of the Yin Meridians.

Yu Yuan was suddenly exposed to the formidable oppressive force of the white bone, now at a Divine Level, and he understood that its presence was not intentional.

Squinting, Yu Yuan took advantage of the Dragon Slash Platform's vantage point to observe the slender Yin meridians streaming beneath the surface of the white bones.

These bones harnessed the power from the source of the Yin Meridians, enabling them to wield the meridians' power in battle across the vast expanse.

Take, for instance, Grec, the Great Demon God of the Blood Devil Clan, who embodies the source of the Yang Meridians, traversing the Star River.

The white bones before him served as the emissaries of the Yin Meridian's origin, the outward-facing edge of its power!

In the Boundless Great World, he feared neither the Primordial Spirit nor the Demon God. He roamed freely, and even venturing into the Outland Star River, he remained among the most exceptional.

Yu Yuan could feel the formidable presence he projected.

"What's on your mind?" the white bone inquired with a smile.

"How should we interact, and what should we call each other?" Yu Yuan asked, somewhat awkwardly.

"As equals, as friends. Let's not dwell on familial ties," the white bone replied nonchalantly. "You, too, have been reborn. The conventions of the mundane world need not concern us."

"That works for me."

Yu Yuan nodded, his tension easing. "Your demise in your past life and my own failed reincarnation might share the same sinister orchestrator."

The white bone offered a slight smile. "It appears that after your breakthrough to the Yang God level, your understanding has deepened. I've refrained from punishing my unworthy apprentice and from settling scores with the Fiend Sect all these years because I was well aware that he was merely a pawn."

"A fool remains a fool, even centuries later."

"He knew he was being manipulated, knew he had erred, yet he lacked the wisdom to repent or make amends. Instead, he sought to hide his misdeeds, to erase them completely. Yet he feared me, uncertain of whether I had truly perished, and thus he dared not act against me directly. So he unleashed his vicious hounds to wreak havoc in his stead."

When Bai Gu spoke, his gaze fell upon the Fiend Sect, tinged with disappointment.

His message was directed at Yu Yuan, but also meant for someone, perhaps several individuals, within the Fiend Sect.

Yu Yuan grasped the full meaning.

Yun Hao, in his heart of hearts, feared his master. He had been beguiled and coerced into committing heinous acts. Due to his deep-seated fear and uncertainty about whether his master was truly dead, he had been hesitant, tacitly allowing Lee Tihai's existence.

Bai Gu, also known as the Evil King Yu Xi, was profoundly disappointed in his disciple. Yet, understanding that Yun Hao wasn't the instigator and still harboring old affections for the Fiend Sect, he had refrained from taking action.

His sudden appearance wasn't to punish Yun Hao or to unleash his wrath upon the Fiend Sect.

He was after the true mastermind.

"Ghost Wizard Sect?" Yu Yuan demanded.

"There have been sightings of them," Bai Gu confirmed with a slow nod. After a pause, he added, "And... others."

While speaking, Bai Gu looked to the heavens, which were devoid of even a single cloud.

"Why would the Ghost Wizard Sect do this? First you, then possibly others, followed by my mentor from my past life, and now me. Could my senior brother be next?" Yu Yuan's expression darkened.

"We should confront them."

Bai Gu's gaze dropped to the ground, a ghostly white glow emerging in the depths of his eyes. "I've come to join you in delving into the so-called Foul Land."

Yu Yuan's Yin God trembled slightly. "You're serious?"

According to the old dragon, the Foul Land, a place shrouded by the Ghost Wizard Sect and Earth Demons, was so perilous that even the highest Primordial Spirits and Demon Gods hesitated to venture there.

The Earth Demons, along with the remnants of the Ghost Wizard Sect, exploited the Foul Land's unique properties to vex even the most exalted beings.

Bai Gu intended to take him into the heart of the Foul Land. Was he truly unafraid of the combined might of the Earth Demons and the remnants of the Ghost Wizard Sect?

"Have you forgotten my origins?"

Bai Gu smiled arrogantly, the Yin Meridians within him resonating with the pleasing sound of flowing water.

Yu Yuan keenly sensed an underground Yin Meridian being activated by the sound of flowing water within him. It seemed to resonate with him, ready to infuse him with an unending stream of power at a moment's notice.

"In the Boundless Great World, other Primordial Spirits and Demon Gods fear to tread the Foul Land, but I harbor no such fear. I am the being best equipped to withstand the Foul Land in this era. After all, the Foul Land was created by the source of the Yin Meridians, and I am an extension of its will," he explained, pausing briefly before adding, "Furthermore, as long as the source of the Yin Meridians remains intact, I am immortal here."

"Unless..."

"Unless Wei Zhuo from the Thunder Sect achieves divinity. Only someone of the Primordial Spirit Stage who has mastered the secrets of lightning could pose a threat to me. Without such an individual's emergence, neither the Demon Gods of the Demon Palace nor the human Primordial Spirits can truly vanquish me or cause my demise."

"At best, they can only imprison me."

In that moment, the white bone exuded an air of immense pride and confidence.

It appeared that without the birth of a Primordial Spirit of Thunder, a natural adversary, not even the combined might of all the supreme beings could truly destroy him.

"Loong Jie is on his way. Do we need his assistance?" Yu Yuan inquired.

"Loong Jie? That old dragon?" The white bone hesitated, then shook his head. "His presence in the Foul Land would be of no benefit. There's no need for him to join us. Aside from myself, perhaps only Wei Zhuo of the Thunder Sect might venture down for a look."

"Very well, then I shall join you."
