C1468 In Its Complete Form!
Yu Yuan's Lunar Spirit and his real body began to establish a connection. Alongside Loong Jie and Yin Xueqi, he had discovered the secrets of the "Circle of Spectral Rebirth" within the forbidden area of the Order of Healing. The Bloodbrawlers' favor and their efforts to cultivate his abilities were instantly transmitted to the Lunar Spirit on the Dragon Slaying Stage.
The Lunar Spirit quickly realized that the Bloodbrawlers didn't intend to harm him; their true desire was for him to join their ranks. His birth into the Yu family was orchestrated by the Bloodbrawlers, while Yuan Qingxi was the one who had deceived him.
Meanwhile, his real body, still above, learned that Zhu Zhenlin had once been part of the Bloodbrawlers. Zhu Zhenlin's betrayal led to dire consequences for Evil King Yu Xi.
He also uncovered that Evil King Yu Xi, Youling, and White Bone were likely the ancient Bloodbrawler, Youyu. Peach Madam Hu Caiyun's mastery of the dark arts originated from Huangyin, the Terra Fiend's forebear.
Furthermore, Huangyin had fused with Peach Madam's cherished vessel in an attempt to split the Dragon Slaying Stage and consume a certain primordial spirit to challenge the Demon God. However, at the pivotal moment, Han Miaoyuan of the Ebon Star thwarted his plans.
With the shared consciousness between his Lunar Spirit and real body, Yu Yuan became aware, while at the furnace, that the corruptive force plaguing Senior Brother Zhong Chichen and the essence within Huangyin shared the same origin as the Seven-Colored Lake.
At present, the multitude of Evil Devils within the Crucible of Evil were also being corroded by the waters of the Seven-Colored Lake. Yu Yuan sensed that Zhong Chichen's condition was deteriorating more severely than that of the Bane.
It was likely due to Zhong Chichen's voluntary practice of a malevolent technique, which resulted in a deeper level of corruption than that affecting the Bane within the crucible. It appeared that rescuing the Bane frozen by the lake's waters might be more straightforward, whereas aiding Zhong Chichen presented a far greater challenge.
What surprised him was that it was White Bone's intervention that allowed the Lunar Spirit and the real body to reconnect.
Considering White Bone was a leader within the Bloodbrawlers, why would he do such a thing?
"Yu Yuan, Yu Yuan!"
"What's the matter?"
Inside the grass hut, Feng Zhong and Du Yazi called out one after another.
Only the lecherous dragon, from the gleam in his eyes and the smile on his lips, seemed to have guessed the answer. "Is your Lunar Spirit and the Dragon Slaying Stage located in the Defiled World beneath us?"
As he asked, Yu Yuan had completed the integration of his memories, branding the secrets learned by the Lunar Spirit deep within his soul.
Upon hearing the question, Yu Yuan nodded, "A Terra Fiend Ancestor named Huangyin was once the mightiest Bane within the Crucible of Evil. Due to severe damage to the Crucible and the death of the Terror Claws' sect master, he managed to escape. To ascend to a Demon God, he fully merged with a prodigy from the Ebon Star."
"The one who rapidly advanced to a primordial spirit is Hu Caiyun's partner."
"He's at the Seven-Colored Lake in the Defiled World below us, and he seems to place great importance on Qiyan."
"…"
Yu Yuan swiftly briefed them on the new developments.
The three counselors from the Order of Healing were dumbfounded after hearing this. They had not anticipated that Yu Yuan would act independently, taking both the Lunar Spirit and the Dragon Slaying Stage deep into the Defiled World beneath the earth.
"The husband of Peach Madam, it turns out, was eradicated by the Ebon Star due to corruption by the Terra Fiend," Feng Zhong lamented. "Despite my years of investigation as the leader of the Windspeakers, I never uncovered the truth. That an Earth Fiend Ancestor could so terrifyingly orchestrate such a scheme in advance was beyond my imagination."
For the first time, he seemed to grasp the formidable nature of the Terra Fiend, long subjugated by the dark adepts.
Even Han Miaoyuan, the seasoned sect master of the Ebon Star and a venerable primordial spirit, was unable to resolve the issue.
Left with no choice, he was forced to sacrifice that individual in the Star River beyond our world.
"The defeat of the Terra Fiend led to this downfall. In those days, even our Naga ancestors had to take the Terra Fiend very seriously," Loong Jie remarked, his expression growing grave upon hearing the name Huangyin. "Our records show that with the explosive demise of two primordial spirits from the Bloodbrawlers and the death of two ancestors from the Terra Fiend, the humans were able to swiftly install new primordial spirits."
"The emergence of these four primordial spirits strengthened the Boulderdawn, increasing the pressure on us."
"Subsequently, the death of each Dragon God heralded the birth of a new human primordial spirit."
Loong Jie's mood visibly darkened as he spoke of this. "It was a protracted conflict. At the onset of the war, the Terra Fiend and the Bloodbrawlers appeared to be formidable. Naturally, the evilkind were involved as well..."
He cast a glance toward Shadow's Keep, his golden eyes swirling with malevolence, yet he refrained from elaborating on the evilkind.
The ancient evilkind had allied themselves with the humans, turning their weapons against us, fueling my deep-seated grievances.
"The Terra Fiend, the Bloodbrawlers, and the Boulderdawn suddenly unleashed their primordial spirits and Demon Gods, presenting a force bold enough to confront us. To this day, it remains a mystery how these three factions managed to produce such powerful beings simultaneously. Despite years of research, our Naga clan has yet to unravel this enigma."
"In essence, the first to challenge us were the evilkind, followed by the human Boulderdawn, the Bloodbrawlers, and the Terra Fiend. They dared to oppose us because they too had their Most High. Yet, aside from Shadow's Keep, the emergence of these supreme beings from the other three factions was startlingly abrupt."
"They appeared so suddenly that we were caught off guard and unable to respond in time."
Loong Jie's voice tapered off into a somber tone.
He is the eldest dragon of our time and the chieftain of the Naga clan.
The Nagas have never gone extinct, with a secret book handed down through the ages. His understanding of that ancient history exceeded that of most ancient sects and powers in the Everlands.
"The prolonged war, it's said, witnessed many intriguing events. One day, the Boulderdawn lashed out at the Terra Fiend and the Bloodbrawlers, seemingly because they occupied the Supreme God seat but failed to exert their full strength. As a result, the supreme leaders of both the Terra Fiend and the Bloodbrawlers perished, and their vacated seat was swiftly claimed by human race powerhouses."
"When the Terra Fiend and the Bloodbrawlers lay dormant, that's when the primordial spirit of the Devil Palace and the so-called upper sects came into prominence."
"..."
Loong Jie sighed, "Our preparations were inadequate. Our Dragon God perished, and the Most Highs of the Bloodbrawlers and the Terra Fiend were annihilated, leaving us without a new Dragon God to take over. Meanwhile, the Boulderdawn seized the opportunity to rise with new elites, with powerhouses firmly seizing fate and claiming a seat among the Supreme Gods."
"The Devil Palace, along with those so-called upper sects, were nothing more than human cultivators who seized the chance to secure a Supreme God seat for themselves!"
Loong Jie recounted the epic war where many vied for dominance.
Yu Yuan's real body and Lunar Spirit were now seamlessly connected, allowing every word spoken by Loong Jie to be conveyed to his Lunar Spirit.
Suddenly, he realized that White Bone, Huang Yin, and the others hadn't fallen at the hands of the Nagas during their struggle. Instead, they had been obliterated by his own hand.
From Loong Jie's account, it appeared that he had judged the Bloodbrawlers and the Terra Fiend as lacking in strength, and thus he had struck them down, opening up the Supreme God seat for the three upper sects and the Devil Palace.
It was the decline of the Bloodbrawlers and the Terra Fiend that paved the way for the rise of the Devil Palace and other upper sect powerhouses.
The battle was long and grueling. The Dragon God had fallen, and the Most Highs of the Bloodbrawlers and the Terra Fiend had perished. The ones who seized their destiny and ascended were primarily the God-Kings of the Boulderdawn, the Devil Palace, and the peak figures of various supreme forces, including the emergence of Dark Deities.
The pivotal moment seemed to be when the Most Highs emerged from the Boulderdawn, the Bloodbrawlers, and the Terra Fiend.
Without the primordial spirit and the Demon God, the ancient evilkind likely wouldn't have dared to confront the Nagas.
Loong Jie, along with the rest of the Nagas, for generations, couldn't fathom why the Most Highs from these three factions appeared simultaneously.
Both Yu Yuan above ground and his counterpart underground were equally baffled by this enigma.
He felt that, although the destiny of the Everlands in that era wasn't as grand as the present, it was still remarkable, capable of birthing more Most Highs.
At the height of the Nagas' power, there were five Dragon Gods, which was the pinnacle for the Nagas. It wasn't for lack of desire for more Dragon Gods to emerge.
Rather, even with abundant fortune, no new Naga champions could ascend to the tenth level.
The sheer number of Nagas kept their power in check.
In that age, it seemed that what was missing wasn't so much the fate of the cosmos, but rather beings worthy of it, capable of ascending to the highest echelons of power.
The mightiest of the humans and the Terra Fiend appeared to lack the method to break through to the ultimate level at first.
The human's strongest warriors were at the peak of the Unbound realm, and for the Terra Fiend, the Demon God was the zenith.
It was as if, in a sudden moment, the representatives of humanity—the Boulderdawn and the Bloodbrawlers—and the Terra Fiend had an epiphany, all finding the path to ascend to the highest realm!
Then, with the already strong tide of fortune, the Boulderdawn and the Bloodbrawlers manifested primordial spirits, and the Terra Fiend race saw the rise of a great Demon God.
With such allies, the evilkind boldly stood up, joining forces to challenge the Nagas.
In that moment, the past conflicts of the Divine, the Devilish, and the Supernatural crystallized in Yu Yuan's mind, and he saw clearly the course of that fierce battle.
"Why?"
Beside the Seven-Colored Lake, Huangyin, one of the Terra Fiend ancestors, after much deliberation, turned to White Bone and asked, "Is it because you haven't awakened, because you remain the White Bone, the God of Ghosts, that you chose to help him? To assist the heir of that individual? Youyu, do you not remember the cause of your downfall?"
White Bone remained impassive, unaffected by Huangyin's probing questions.
A profound sadness filled Yuan Qingxi's eyes as he bowed his head and let out a heavy sigh. Out of deep respect for his master, he refrained from challenging White Bone or questioning his actions... Yet, Huangyin's words and the memories of past events weighed heavily on him, stirring feelings of sorrow.
Yu Yuan, now presiding over the Dragon Slaying Stage, could be seen as the successor to that individual, especially since he was practicing the art of Wraithbinding.
White Bone had broken the seal, using a spell to bind with the scroll and seal the barrier around the Dragon Slaying Stage, a reality that Yuan Qingxi found hard to accept.
"My senior brother, Zhong Chichen, the current leader of the Order of Healing—was it you or did you both have a hand in his fate?"
Yu Yuan avoided looking at White Bone, careful not to trigger any unwanted memories. Instead, he first turned his gaze to Huangyin, then to Yuan Qingxi.
"What does it matter if it was me? What difference would it make if it wasn't?"
Huangyin, having failed to elicit the response he sought from White Bone, was seething with frustration. The audacity of Yu Yuan, a mere Lunar Spirit, to challenge him so boldly was more than he could stand.
"Mr. Yuan, it appears Youyu is not ready to return just yet. In light of this, my only wish is for him to observe and wait a little longer," Huangyin declared. "To witness all that we've accomplished for the Terra Fiend and the Bloodbrawlers, and to behold the golden age we're ushering in!" His voice crescendoed with passion.
A look of distress crossed Yuan Qingxi's face, aware that Huangyin was about to act, yet he could only glance helplessly at White Bone, unable to voice his plea.
His only hope was for White Bone to either awaken by his own volition or continue to watch from the sidelines. As long as White Bone refrained from intervening or aiding Yu Yuan, Yuan Qingxi was prepared to accept any outcome.
"Just as you find fault with me, I've tolerated you, the progenitor of the Terra Fiend, for far too long!" Yu Yuan sneered menacingly. "I'll be at your place of origin, the Seven-Colored Lake, eager to see what surprises you, the so-called ancestor of the Terra Fiend, have in store for me!"
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
The edge of the Dragon Slaying Stage shimmered with a kaleidoscope of ripples as psionic power, capable of warping space and time, was harnessed to form an enigmatic passageway and connection.
As the passageway materialized, the Lunar Spirit within the Dragon Slaying Stage furrowed its brow ever so slightly.
He gazed intently at a specific spot at the bottom of the Seven-Colored Lake.
With a swift whoosh!
Another Yu Yuan traversed the expanse, vanishing from the gaze of Loong Jie and Feng Zhong amidst the Rainbow Ocean's miasma above, only to reappear upon the surface of the Dragon Slaying Stage.
Upon the arrival of his real body, his Lunar Spirit surged forth, plunging instantly into the depths of his Mindscape.
Thus, his Lunar Spirit, Solar Spirit, and real body were unified, embodying his most complete and formidable form.
